Blessing of Pets

October 4th is the Feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals. Preschool-5th Grade will participate in the Blessing of Pets Friday, October 5. Children are welcome to bring their pet to school for this blessing. Adults must accompany the child’s pet. All dogs must be caged or on a leash. All cats and small animals must be caged. You, your child, and your pet will arrive and go immediately to the new gym at 7:45. Teachers and students who do not have pets will report to the gym after the 7:50 bell. If your child has a large pet such as a horse, goat, etc, you will take this animal to the parking lot located north of the gym at 7:45. If you cannot accompany the pet to school, your child may bring a picture of their pet to hold during the blessing. After the blessing is done, parents will take all pets home.
