Dear Gremlin Community,

What a fantastic full week of school we have had! There is new, positive energy with this school year, and our building is buzzing with it. Our students, parents, and our staff have commented on how excited they are for this year. I am too. We have new opportunities, new students, and new colleagues working to make Sacred Heart all that it can be. The “new” is great, and so is the “old”.  The traditions we love, our alumni, our veteran staff, students, and families are all here to help support and welcome our “new” people. Thanks to all of you doing your part, we are off to a great start. Thank you.

One of the things I loved most about these last couple of weeks is how our student leadership has shown up to do their part in leading our school. I hope that you saw our seniors outside our doors welcoming everyone to school on the first day. If you didn’t, look for some “welcome back” photos below or on social media! Our students take their leadership roles seriously, and STUCO and junior high and high school class officers are beginning to meet and make plans for how to make all of our students’ experiences at Sacred Heart top-notch!

I hope that your Labor Day weekend is relaxing, fun, or exciting-whatever you want it to be. Thanks for trusting Sacred Heart to partner with you to make this the best year yet.

National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC)- November 2027

I would like to share a little bit about NCYC and extend a warm invitation to our students in 8th through 11th grade. We will be attending NCYC from November 19–23, 2027, where more than 20,000 young people will gather to have an encounter with God. Many times, when we go to a concert, we want to see our favorite artist. We sing, we want to be in the front row, take pictures, and, if we have the opportunity, meet the artist.

NCYC is like that, but in a much more special way. We gather to see Jesus in the Eucharist, to behold the King of Kings, to draw closer to Him, praise Him, and have an encounter with Him. At NCYC, the artist is Jesus.

I would also like to share the testimony of a student who graduated this year and had the opportunity to attend NCYC. During a time of Eucharistic Adoration, as he saw Jesus being carried through the center of the stadium, he could feel that Jesus was truly there, present in the Eucharist. Jesus reminds us, even in the middle of that stadium, that He always wants to be at the center: at the center of our hearts and at the center of our families.

Sacred Heart Family, I would like to invite you to encourage your young people to attend NCYC. We are now registering students who would like to attend NCYC, and registration will remain open through the month of November. We invite you to experience this amazing opportunity and encounter Jesus!

Fall Athletic Mass
Our Fall Athletic Mass is a special opportunity for our Junior High and High School athletes to come together as teams, celebrate their season and place their athletic experiences in the hands of God. Athletes from all of our fall sports will attend Mass together alongside our parish community as we give thanks for the gifts, teamwork and opportunities that make athletics such an important part of life at Sacred Heart.

We are excited to share some great news with our Sacred Heart family! Mr. Morales and Mrs. Tippie will be serving as the STUCO advisors this year!

This is our first year serving as STUCO advisors, and we have already had the opportunity to meet with our students, listen to their ideas, and work together to plan an exciting year filled with leadership, community, and faith.

Right now, we are working on plans for Fall Homecoming, and we have many exciting ideas for our students! But we also want STUCO to be about more than just activities and events. Our desire is for STUCO to have a strong focus on faith, helping our students grow not only as leaders but also in their relationship with Christ. One of the events we are currently working on is “Fall Under the Stars with the Blessed Sacrament.” We hope to create a special evening where our students can come together as a community, spend time in Eucharistic Adoration, and encounter Jesus in a beautiful and meaningful way. We are very excited about this new year and all that God has planned for our STUCO students! Please keep STUCO, our students, and our new leadership team in your prayers.

May this be a year filled with faith, joy, leadership, and many blessings!

Estimada comunidad Gremlin,

¡Qué semana escolar tan fantástica y completa hemos tenido! Se respira una energía nueva y positiva en este año escolar, y nuestro centro rebosa de ella. Nuestros alumnos, padres y personal han expresado su entusiasmo ante este año; yo también lo comparto. Contamos con nuevas oportunidades, nuevos alumnos y nuevos compañeros que trabajan para que Sacred Heart alcance su máximo potencial. Lo «nuevo» es magnífico, al igual que lo «de siempre». Las tradiciones que tanto apreciamos, nuestros exalumnos, el personal veterano, los estudiantes y las familias están aquí para apoyar y dar la bienvenida a quienes se incorporan ahora. Gracias a que todos aportan su granito de arena, hemos tenido un comienzo excelente. Muchas gracias.

Una de las cosas que más me ha gustado de estas últimas semanas es ver cómo nuestros líderes estudiantiles han asumido su papel en la dirección de la escuela. Espero que hayan visto a nuestros alumnos de último año recibiendo a todos en la entrada el primer día de clases. Si no fue así, ¡busquen las fotos de bienvenida más abajo o en nuestras redes sociales! Nuestros alumnos se toman muy en serio sus funciones de liderazgo; tanto el Consejo Estudiantil (STUCO) como los representantes de los cursos de secundaria y bachillerato ya han comenzado a reunirse y a planificar cómo lograr que la experiencia de todos los alumnos en Sacred Heart sea excepcional.

Espero que disfruten de un fin de semana del Día del Trabajo relajante, divertido o emocionante: lo que ustedes deseen. Gracias por confiar en Sacred Heart y colaborar con nosotros para hacer de este el mejor año hasta la fecha.

Conferencia Nacional de Jóvenes Católicos (NCYC) – Noviembre de 2027

Me gustaría hablarles un poco sobre NCYC y extender una cordial invitación a nuestros estudiantes de 8º a 11º grado. Iremos a NCYC del 19 al 23 de noviembre de 2027, donde más de 20,000 jóvenes se reunirán para tener un encuentro con Dios.Muchas veces, cuando vamos a un concierto, queremos ver a nuestro artista favorito. Cantamos, queremos estar en primera fila, tomar fotos y, si tenemos la oportunidad, conocer al artista.NCYC es así, pero de una manera mucho más especial. Nos reunimos para ver a Jesús en la Eucaristía, contemplar al Rey de reyes, acercarnos a Él, alabarlo y tener un encuentro con Él.En NCYC, el artista es Jesús. Me gustaría compartirles el testimonio de un estudiante que se graduó este año y tuvo la oportunidad de asistir a NCYC. Durante un momento de adoración, al ver a Jesús pasar por el centro del estadio, pudo sentir que Él estaba allí, presente en la Eucaristía.Jesús nos recuerda, en medio de ese estadio, que Él siempre quiere estar en el centro: en el centro de nuestros corazones y en el centro de nuestras familias.

Familia Sagrado Corazón, me gustaría invitarlos a motivar a sus jóvenes  a asistir a NCYC. Desde ahora estaremos registrando a los estudiantes que quieran asistir a NCYC hasta el mes de noviembre.¡Los invitamos a vivir esta experiencia y a encontrarse con Jesús!

Nuestra Misa de Deportes de Otoño es una oportunidad especial para que los atletas de secundaria y bachillerato se reúnan como equipos, celebren su temporada y pongan sus experiencias deportivas en manos de Dios. Los atletas de todas nuestras disciplinas deportivas de otoño asistirán a Misa junto con la comunidad parroquial para dar gracias por los dones, el trabajo en equipo y las oportunidades que hacen del deporte una parte tan importante de la vida en Sacred Heart.

Los estudiantes que deseen participar en algún servicio durante la Misa pueden inscribirse AQUÍ.

¡Nos complace compartir una excelente noticia con nuestra familia de Sagrado Corazón! El Sr. Morales y la Sra. Tippie serán los asesores del Consejo Estudiantil (STUCO) este año!

Este es nuestro primer año como asesores del STUCO y ya hemos tenido la oportunidad de reunirnos con los estudiantes, escuchar sus ideas y trabajar juntos para planificar un año emocionante, lleno de liderazgo, sentido de comunidad y fe.

En este momento, estamos preparando las actividades para el Homecoming de otoño ¡y tenemos muchas ideas emocionantes para nuestros estudiantes! Sin embargo, también queremos que el STUCO vaya más allá de simples actividades y eventos. Nuestro deseo es que el STUCO se centre firmemente en la fe, ayudando a los estudiantes a crecer no solo como líderes, sino también en su relación con Cristo. Uno de los eventos en los que estamos trabajando actualmente es “Una noche de otoño bajo las estrellas con el Santísimo Sacramento”. Esperamos crear una velada especial donde nuestros estudiantes puedan reunirse como comunidad, dedicar tiempo a la Adoración Eucarística y encontrarse con Jesús de una manera hermosa y significativa. ¡Estamos muy entusiasmados con este nuevo año y con todo lo que Dios tiene preparado para los estudiantes del STUCO! Por favor, tengan presentes en sus oraciones al STUCO, a nuestros estudiantes y a nuestro nuevo equipo de liderazgo.

¡Que este sea un año lleno de fe, alegría, liderazgo y muchas bendiciones!
