Dear Sacred Heart Families,

We hope that everyone enjoys the upcoming three-day weekend with their families. We hope that you will also find time to support our school in one of the many upcoming events. Getting involved at Sacred Heart School is strongly encouraged and helps everyone feel more connected to one another.

On that note we will not be hosting a family day after the golf classic on Monday. We have outgrown the country club and it no longer logistically works for our school. We will have many other opportunities coming up for all of our families.

A big thank you to all of our faculty and staff for a successful first mid-quarter. We are very blessed to have the very best students, staff, and faculty at our school. Have a great weekend!

St. Vincent de Paul Bazaar Dinner Auction – Two More Ways to Show Support

If you have your tickets to attend the Bazaar Dinner Auction, we look forward to seeing you there!!  If you aren’t able to attend the event in person there are still opportunities for you to participate! Log into our Bidpal page HERE to:

• Buy Tickets for one or all of our Raffle packages. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased until 8pm the night of the Bazaar. You DO NOT need to be present to win!

APC Discount Cards Are HERE!!

APC Discount Cards made their way home this week. Please check your students backpack to make sure you received your manilla envelope. This is a MAJOR fundraiser for APC each year. The more cards sold, the more funds APC has to give back to the school, teachers, and students! Remember if your kids are in grades K-5 you will have one envelope for your family. If you have kids in grades 6-12 each student will receive an envelope. Back again by popular demand, the Ice Cream Sundae Party for the classes that sell the most in elementary, junior high, and high school. All envelopes returned by Thursday, October 12th will be counted towards the Ice Cream Sundae Party incentive.

 If you need more cards to sell, please call the school office at 660-827-3800. If you don’t plan to sell your cards, we ask for you to consider making a donation to APC and returning the cards so another student can sell them.

Our first Blood Drive of the 2023-2024 school year will be October 11th, and will be hosted by Mrs. Hagebusch’s 6th and 7th grade students. We celebrate the Feast of St Vincent de Paul this weekend

This weekend, the Catholic Church around the world will be celebrating the 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time.  Like everyday in the Catholic Church at Mass, all of the readings and the prayers are translated into the local language and all of us pray these. However, our local Bishop, Bishop McKnight has asked parishes to celebrate the patron of the parish (the saint in whom the parish is named) to the closest Sunday to their feast day on the calendar. St Vincent de Paul is celebrated around the world on September 27. So, this coming Sunday we, at our parish, wil not celebrate the 25th Sunday but instead, the Feast of St Vincent de Paul, our patron saint. That means when we come to church on Wednesday morning, September 27, we will celebrate Wednesday of the 25th week in ordinary time and not repeat his feast day. Come join us for this important Sunday for our parish. What a great way to conclude our celebration of the parish bazaar, by coming together at Mass to give gratitude for all God has given us including sending his Son into the world to die for our sins, open Heaven to us and receive him in the Euharist. See you at the Bazaar and at our Parish Feast Day Mass this weekend! Don’t forget to stop by the St Patrick parking lot on Sunday for the Hispanic Food Sale from 10:30-3pm on Sunday!

Healing Rosary

On Wednesday, September 27th, we are getting together at Sacred Heart Chapel to put in the hand of our Blessed Mother and intentions and petitions so she can bring them to Her son, Jesus. If we go back and remember the days when we were children, I am sure it will be easy to recall the experience of going to our mothers for our needs. Our Mother in Heaven, Mary, is no exception. She listens to what we ask, takes those intentions into her hands, and brings all that to Jesus. Just remember what she did at the wedding of Cana. She noticed they were running low on wine and asked Jesus for a miracle. At that moment, Jesus hadn’t performed any miracles, and nobody knew he would at that time, except for Mary. She is so closely connected to her son that she doesn’t hesitate to ask him for a miracle. With that faith, we get together to pray our traditional Healing Rosary. We do this on the last Wednesday of each month unless posted otherwise. Even though you can bring your own intentions, we are now praying for the following people: Ayden Wright, Mandy Belsha, Erin Rogers, Katie Pettis, and Brooklyn Burdick

Armor of God 2nd Grade (Children’s Bible)

On Tuesday, September 26th, 2nd graders are going to receive their Armor of God: The Children’s Bible. In Matthew 4,4, we read: Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. The Bible is the Word of God that feeds our minds and spirits, and, along with the Eucharist (the Bread of Life), it is absolutely necessary for keeping our relationship with Jesus in its best shape. The Children’s Bible has adequate images and explanations for our second graders to make sense of and understand the passages of our History of Salvation. They will be working with this Bible throughout the year so that they get into the habit of reading, praying, and pondering on the Bible.

Our volunteers will fill your order on Tuesdays and Thursdays and let you know when it’s available for pick-up. RaiseRight will be at all Masses this Sunday, September 24th. Queridas familias del Sagrado Corazón,

Esperamos que todos disfruten el próximo fin de semana de tres días con sus familias. Esperamos que también tenga tiempo para apoyar a nuestra escuela en uno de los próximos eventos.Se recomienda encarecidamente participar en la Escuela del Sagrado Corazón y ayuda a que todos se sientan más conectados entre sí.

En ese sentido, no organizaremos un día familiar después del clásico de golf del lunes. Se nos ha quedado pequeño el club de campo y logísticamente ya no funciona para nuestra escuela. Tendremos muchas otras oportunidades para todas nuestras familias.

Un gran agradecimiento a todos nuestros profesores y personal por un exitoso primer semestre. Estamos muy bendecidos de tener los mejores estudiantes, personal y profesores en nuestra escuela. ¡Ten un excelente fin de semana!

Esta es una importante recaudación de fondos para APC cada año. ¡Cuantas más tarjetas se venden, más fondos tendrá APC para devolver a la escuela, los maestros y los estudiantes! Recuerde que si sus hijos están en los grados K-5, tendrá un sobre para su familia. Si tiene hijos en los grados 6-12, cada estudiante recibirá un sobre. De regreso por demanda popular, la fiesta de Ice Cream Sundae es para las clases que más venden en primaria, secundaria y preparatoria. Todos los sobres devueltos antes del jueves 12 de octubre contarán para el incentivo de la fiesta Ice Cream Sundae.

Celebramos la Fiesta de San Vicente de Paúl este fin de semana

Este fin de semana, la Iglesia Católica en todo el mundo celebrará el 25º Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario. Como todos los días en la Iglesia Católica en la Misa, todas las lecturas y oraciones se traducen al idioma local y todos las rezamos. Sin embargo, nuestro obispo local, el obispo McKnight, ha pedido a las parroquias que celebren al patrón de la parroquia (el santo que da nombre a la parroquia) el domingo más cercano a su fiesta en el calendario. San Vicente de Paúl se celebra en todo el mundo el 27 de septiembre. Entonces, el próximo domingo nosotros, en nuestra parroquia, no celebraremos el domingo 25 sino la Fiesta de San Vicente de Paúl, nuestro santo patrón. Eso significa que cuando vengamos a la iglesia el miércoles 27 de septiembre por la mañana, celebraremos el miércoles de la semana 25 en tiempo ordinario y no repetiremos su fiesta. Únase a nosotros para este domingo importante para nuestra parroquia. Qué gran manera de concluir nuestra celebración del Bazaar parroquial, uniéndonos en la Misa para agradecer todo lo que Dios nos ha dado, incluido el envío de su Hijo al mundo para morir por nuestros pecados, abrirnos el Cielo y recibirlo en la Eucaristía. ¡Nos vemos en el Bazar y en nuestra Misa del Día de Fiesta Parroquial este fin de semana! ¡No olvide pasar por el estacionamiento de St Patrick el domingo para la venta de comida hispana de 10:30 a 3 p.m. el domingo!

Rosario de Sanación

El miércoles 27 de septiembre nos reuniremos en la Capilla del Sagrado Corazón para poner en la mano de nuestra Madre Santísima intenciones y peticiones para que ella las lleve a Su hijo Jesús. Si volvemos atrás y recordamos los días en que éramos niños, estoy seguro de que será fácil recordar la experiencia de acudir a nuestras madres para satisfacer nuestras necesidades. Nuestra Madre del Cielo, María, no es una excepción. Ella escucha lo que le pedimos, toma esas intenciones en sus manos y las lleva todo a Jesús. Sólo recuerda lo que hizo en las bodas de Caná. Ella notó que se estaban quedando sin vino y le pidió a Jesús un milagro. En ese momento, Jesús no había hecho ningún milagro, y nadie sabía que lo haría en ese momento, excepto María. Está tan unida a su hijo que no duda en pedirle un milagro. Con esa fe, nos reunimos para rezar nuestro tradicional Rosario de Sanación. Hacemos esto el último miércoles de cada mes a menos que se indique lo contrario. Aunque puedes traer tus propias intenciones, ahora estamos orando por las siguientes personas: Ayden Wright, Mandy Belsha, Erin Rogers, Katie Pettis y Brooklyn Burdick.

Armadura de Dios 2do Grado (Biblia Infantil)

El martes 26 de septiembre los estudiantes de 2do grado recibirán su Armadura de Dios: La Biblia para niños. En Mateo 4,4 leemos: No sólo de pan vivirá el hombre, sino de toda palabra que sale de la boca de Dios. La Biblia es la Palabra de Dios que alimenta nuestra mente y espíritu y, junto con la Eucaristía (el Pan de Vida), es absolutamente necesaria para mantener nuestra relación con Jesús en la mejor forma. La Biblia para Niños tiene imágenes y explicaciones adecuadas para que nuestros niños de segundo grado den sentido y comprendan los pasajes de nuestra Historia de Salvación. Trabajarán con esta Biblia durante todo el año para que adquieran el hábito de leer, orar y reflexionar sobre la Biblia.
