Why Should You Support the 2023 St. Vincent de Paul Bazaar Dinner Auction?

Did you know the Bazaar Dinner Auction isn’t just a MAJOR fundraiser for the parish, it’s also a HUGE supporter of the school? Over the last two years alone the St. Vincent de Paul Bazaar Dinner Auction has raised over $100,000 to invest in our school. This money was used to make improvements in our cafeteria, the new stove, the walk-in freezer/refrigerator, and fixing the roof and back wall in the kitchen/maintenance area. Thanks to this monetary investment from the Bazaar, the school was able to fix this major structural issue that had been going on for years. Another major investment from previous years was the playground improvement project to resurface the playground and add new equipment for our younger students. These are just two areas the Bazaar has supported the school throughout the years.

We encourage our parents to support the Bazaar Dinner Auction … so the Bazaar Dinner Auction can continue to support the parish, which supports our school!! You can support the Bazaar by buying tickets to attend the event, buying Raffle tickets, participating in the silent auction (in person or remotely) through our Bidpal website, and participating in the Live Auction. 14th Annual Sacred Heart Golf Classic Is Almost Here

National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children, Saturday, September 9th

We invite you to add your voices at the prayer service this Saturday to commemorate the innocent lives lost through abortion since 1973. Join us at Sacred Heart Chapel for the Community Ecumenical Prayer Service at 11am. At the conclusion, follow us as we make our way to Calvary Cemetery for a graveside prayer service at the grave marker for aborted children.

The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

On September 8, we celebrate Mary, Jesus’ mother’s birthday!  Think of your best friend.  I bet you know your best friend’s mother! And, if you are really good friends, you may have even been to the house to celebrate the  birthday of your best friend’s mom.  Well, in the same way, Jesus should be our best friend and He always wants us to celebrate his mother’s birthday.  We will celebrate by having white sheet cake with blue frosting at lunch (whether you bring your lunch or eat from the cafeteria menu.  Just so you don’t get confused… in three months we are going to celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception on December 8. This is the day she was conceived without original sin… then, 9 months later, on September 8, we celebrate her birthday.

7:30pm Mass at St. John Community Center Bahner, then Family Night food and drink after Mass.

We will have our normal 4pm Saturday St Patrick Mass and normal 8 and 10 Sacred Heart Sunday morning and 9am and 11:30am (Spanish) St Patrick Masses along with our monthly 7:30pm Saturday Mass at St John in the community center this weekend.  Please join us.

NCYC

The National Catholic Youth Conference is coming soon. More than 20 Sacred Heart students will join other youth from all around the country from November 16th to the 19th in Indianapolis, IN. The excitement is evident as we prepare ourselves for this amazing experience of faith, sacraments, community, and fun. The theme for this year is FULLY ALIVE. Both students and chaperones are looking forward with excitement to being part of this opportunity to grow in our relationship with God and consequently, be fully alive! Youth Group Open House

Are you in 6th – 12th grade? Are you interested in strengthening your relationship with God in a fun and engaging environment? If so, we want YOU to join us Sunday, September 10th from 6:30pm-8pm at the parish center as we come together to discuss the agenda for the St. Vincent de Paul youth group. This is YOUR opportunity to be a part of planning what you want your youth group to look like. Bring your ideas and your creativity. We want to hear what YOU have to say! Youths will break into two groups, junior high and high school, while parents and younger siblings will meet in the Sacred Heart Chapel. See you there!

Athletic Team Mass

We invite you and your families to join us for the first 3 athletic teams masses for the 23-24 school years! It will be on Sunday, September 17th at 11:30am at St. Pats, this mass is in spanish. This is a very special tradition for our teams each season to attend mass together as a team and have the opportunity for fellowship together. Today, an email was sent out asking the fall athletes to sign up for mass roles. We hope to see everyone there.

Devon Grose Memorial Game

Family and friends of Devon Grose, we invite you to attend The Devon Grose Memorial game on Saturday, September 9 at Clover Dell Park.

The celebration of life is in conjunction with the boys’ soccer season game between Sacred Heart and Jefferson City. Varsity will play at 11:00 am, JV will play before the Varsity game. Enjoy a delicious meal for $10. (Age 5 and under are free). Proceeds from the meals will benefit the Devon Grose Memorial Scholarship. You pay for your meal the day of the event.

Devon’s family established the Devon Grose Memorial game following a tragic accident that took Devon’s life in 2016. Devon attended SHS from kindergarten through high school, graduating in 2015.

Annual Scholarship Breakfast – Friday, Sept. 15

Our Annual Scholarship Breakfast will be held in the McGremlin Gym on Friday, Sept. 15 from 8-9am. Why do we host this celebration? More than 90% of our families seek financial assistance to pay for their children to attend SHS. Financial support from St. Vincent de Paul and the SHS Foundation helps bridge the gap between what a family pays in tuition and the actual cost. Funding from the SHS Foundation also comes from families who have established named scholarships. Each year, leadership reviews the criteria of the scholarships and identifies SHS students to receive these scholarships.

Our scholarship breakfast is an opportunity to celebrate the students who were selected, to thank the donors, and to connect all involved on a more personal level.

Catholic Charities Looking for English Speaking Volunteers

Are you good with computers? Do you have a love of reading? Are you looking for a way to be more involved in our parish and our community? If you said yes to any of those questions, please consider volunteering to be a teacher with the Catholic Charities organization to help those in our parish and our community at large who want to learn to speak and read English. Don’t forget we have several retailers ONLY available through the office (i.e. Casey’s, Cenex, Shell, Colton’s, Kehde’s, McD, Menards, Taco Bell, Walgreens, and VISA to name a few). Stop in at the school office on Tuesdays and Thursdays during our volunteer open hours from 9:00am – 11:00am for immediate purchases, or drop your order at the school office or email it to the program coordinator. Our volunteers will fill your order on Tuesdays and Thursdays and let you know when it’s available for pick-up. RaiseRight will be at Sunday Masses this weekend. ¿Sabía que la Subasta de Cena del Bazar no es sólo una GRAN recaudación de fondos para la parroquia, sino que también es un ENORME apoyo para la escuela? Sólo en los últimos dos años, la Subasta de Cena del Bazar de St. Vincent de Paul ha recaudado más de $100,000 para invertir en nuestra escuela. Este dinero se utilizó para mejorar nuestra cafetería, la nueva estufa, el congelador/refrigerador y arreglar el techo y la pared trasera en la cocina/área de mantenimiento. Gracias a esta inversión monetaria del Bazar, la escuela pudo solucionar un problema estructural importante que había estado sucediendo durante años. Otra inversión importante del Bazar fue el proyecto de mejorar el patio de juegos para pavimentar y agregar nuevos equipos para nuestros estudiantes más jóvenes. Estas son sólo dos áreas en las que Bazaar ha apoyado a la escuela a lo largo de los años.

Día Nacional en Recuerdo de los Niños Abortados, sábado 9 de septiembre

Los invitamos a unir sus voces en el servicio de oración de este sábado para conmemorar las vidas inocentes perdidas a causa del aborto desde 1973. Únase a nosotros en la Capilla del Sagrado Corazón para el Servicio Comunitario de Oración Ecuménica a las 11 a.m. Al finalizar, síganos mientras nos dirigimos al Cementerio Calvary para un servicio de oración junto a la tumba de los niños abortados.

La Natividad de la Santísima Virgen María

¡El 8 de septiembre celebramos el cumpleaños de María, la madre de Jesús! Piensa en tu mejor amigo. ¡Apuesto a que conoces a la madre de tu mejor amigo! Y, si realmente son buenos amigos, es posible que incluso hayas estado en casa para celebrar el cumpleaños de la mamá de tu mejor amigo. Bueno, de la misma manera Jesús debe ser nuestro mejor amigo y siempre quiere que celebremos el cumpleaños de su madre. Lo celebraremos comiendo pastel blanca con glaseado azul en el tiempo de lonche (ya sea que traigas tu lonche o comas del menú de la cafetería. Para que no te confundas… dentro de tres meses vamos a celebrar la Fiesta de la Inmaculada Concepción el 8 de diciembre. Este es el día en que fue concebida sin pecado original… luego, 9 meses después, el 8 de septiembre, celebramos su cumpleaños.

La Conferencia Nacional de Jóvenes Católicos llegará pronto. Más de 20 estudiantes del Sagrado Corazón se unirán a otros jóvenes de todo el país del 16 al 19 de noviembre en Indianápolis, IN. La emoción es evidente mientras nos preparamos para esta increíble experiencia de fe, sacramentos, comunidad y diversión. El tema de este año es PLENAMENTE VIVO. Tanto los estudiantes como los acompañantes esperan con entusiasmo ser parte de esta oportunidad de crecer en nuestra relación con Dios y, en consecuencia, ¡estar completamente vivos! Jornada de puertas abiertas para grupos de jóvenes

¿Estás en 6º – 12º grado? ¿Estás interesado en fortalecer tu relación con Dios en un ambiente divertido y atractivo? Si es así, queremos que USTED se una a nosotros el domingo 10 de septiembre de 6:30 p. m. a 8 p. m. en el centro parroquial mientras nos reunimos para discutir la agenda del grupo juvenil de San Vicente de Paúl. Esta es TU oportunidad de ser parte de la planificación de cómo quieres que sea tu grupo de jóvenes para parecerse. Trae tus ideas y tu creatividad. ¡Queremos escuchar lo que TÚ tienes que decir! Los jóvenes se dividirán en dos grupos, secundaria y preparatoria, mientras que los padres y los hermanos menores se reunirán en la Capilla del Sagrado Corazón. ¡Te veo allí!

Será el domingo 17 de septiembre a las 11:30 am en San Patricio, esta misa es en español. Esta es una tradición muy especial para nuestros equipos cada temporada de asistir a misa juntos como equipo y tener la oportunidad de tener compañerismo juntos. Hoy, se envió un correo electrónico pidiendo a los atletas de otoño que se inscribieran para roles masivos. Esperamos verlos a todos allí.

Juego conmemorativo de Devon Grose

Familiares y amigos de Devon Grose, los invitamos a asistir al juego The Devon Grose Memorial el sábado 9 de septiembre en Clover Dell Park.

La celebración de la vida se realiza en conjunto con el partido de la temporada de fútbol masculino entre Sacred Heart y Jefferson City. Varsity jugará a las 11:00 am, JV jugará antes del juego Varsity. Disfruta de una deliciosa comida por $10. (Los menores de 5 años entran gratis). Las ganancias de las comidas beneficiarán a la Beca Devon Grose Memorial. Se paga la comida el día del evento.

La familia de Devon estableció el juego Devon Grose Memorial luego de un trágico accidente que le quitó la vida a Devon en 2016. Devon asistió a SHS desde Kindergarten hasta la escuela secundaria y se graduó en 2015.

Desayuno Anual de Becas

Nuestro Desayuno Anual de Becas se llevará a cabo en el Gimnasio McGremlin el viernes 15 de septiembre de 8 a 9 am. ¿Por qué organizamos esta celebración? Más del 90% de nuestras familias buscan asistencia financiera para pagar la asistencia de sus hijos a SHS. El apoyo financiero de St. Vincent de Paul y la Fundación SHS ayuda a cerrar la brecha entre lo que una familia paga en matrícula y el costo real. Los fondos de la Fundación SHS también provienen de familias que han establecido becas designadas. Cada año, el liderazgo revisa los criterios de las becas e identifica a los estudiantes de SHS para recibir estas becas.

Nuestro desayuno de becas es una oportunidad para celebrar a los estudiantes seleccionados, agradecer a los donantes y conectar a todos los involucrados en un nivel más personal.

Nuestro próximo pedido interno de gift cards será el lunes 11 de septiembre. Todos los pedidos enviados a la oficina de la escuela antes del final de clases, o a través de la aplicación RaiseRight antes de las 8 p.m. del día 11, se incluirán en el pedido. Los pedidos deberían estar listos para ser recogidos la semana siguiente.

No olvide que tenemos varios tiendas SOLO disponibles a través de la oficina (es decir, Casey’s, Cenex, Shell, Colton’s, Kehde’s, McD, Menards, Taco Bell, Walgreens y VISA, por nombrar algunos). Visite la oficina de la escuela los martes y jueves durante nuestro horario de atención voluntario de 9:00 a. m. a 11:00 a. m. para compras inmediatas, o deje su pedido en la oficina de la escuela o envíelo por correo electrónico al coordinador del programa. Nuestros voluntarios completarán su pedido los martes y jueves y le informarán cuando esté disponible para ser recogido. RaiseRight no estará en las Misas dominicales este fin de semana.
