Today’s Beat is devoted to our Return to School plans and protocols.
As I have said to many of you, we were sincerely hoping to be back to normal (at least for the most part) when the school opened this August. Unfortunately, it does not seem that COVID is finished with us yet. Consequently, we are doing all we can to address the safety of our students, faculty, and staff and, and just as importantly, keep our students in their seats with the school building open!
After much deliberation, discussion, and prayer, it has been decided that we will be requiring face masks for all students, staff, and visitors when they are in Sacred Heart School throughout the day as we open the school next week. We have determined that in most classes, students are able to sit at a safe distance (3 ft or more as determined by the CDC) from one another. If this is being fulfilled, students will be able to remove their masks.
The reasons are as follows:

As I stated above, we must be aware of the safety of our students, faculty, and staff. This course of action seems to be most in keeping with this awareness.

Experience tells us that a virtual education alternative can be a serious potential obstruction to the educational progress of our children. We must do all we can to keep our students in their seats and the school building open for in-person learning.

The masks will limit the degree of quarantined individuals when the inevitable positive case(s) crop up here at school, again, keeping students in their seats and the school building open.

The number of cases in Pettis County is unquestionably high, placing us in a serious situation.

The medical community, both locally and nationally, is recommending that we mask and suggest this step as a means to better control levels of illness in our local community.
The school’s leadership group has determined this to be the best option in keeping with the overall common good of the community, the parish, and the school.
We support the role of the parent as the first and best teacher of the child, and as the ones ultimately responsible for their health and safety.
Our status is constantly subject to change based on what the situation becomes in the week(s) ahead. We will review and update often. We can’t know what next week or next month holds in store for us. However, we will be eager to adjust as soon as the situation eases. What we can do now is continue to pray for relief from this pandemic situation and continue to pray for a return to a more normal way of operating!
Reopening Plan and Protocols
Our ultimate goal is to keep our students and staff in school. This can be achieved by limiting the spread of COVID and reducing the chances of being a close contact, resulting in having to quarantine. The attached plan is built with that goal in mind, allowing the flexibility to go about our daily routine as normal as possible.
With that being said, we have decided to return to school at an orange protocol level. This means that it is necessary for all students, staff, and visitors to wear masks when they are in Sacred Heart School.
We are remaining vigilant and will be open to reviewing our current protocols as we deem appropriate.

Parents, here is a prayer to begin the new year.
Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you today all undone about this next step my child(ren) are taking. Please be with my child(ren) and comfort my heart. Thank you for all that you have brought our way: Thank you for our warm and happy memories and for getting us through very tough times. I see your faithful hand, and I ask you to help me trust you for the future. As my child(ren) take this next step, please be with them. Help them to remember all that I have taught them and all that you have instilled in them. Help them to be kind and caring, helpful to other people, strong in character, and warriors for you and for people who need your love. Open their hearts to your will, and open their minds to learn new things. Above all, help them to know who they are as children of God, and give them an unshakable confidence that comes from knowing your love for them.

El Beat del día de hoy se dedica principalmente a nuestros planes y protocolos de Regreso a la Escuela.
Como les he dicho a muchos de ustedes, sinceramente esperábamos volver a la normalidad (al menos en su mayor parte) cuando la escuela abriera en el mes de agosto. Desafortunadamente, parece que COVID aún no ha terminado con nosotros. Como consecuencia, estamos haciendo todo lo posible para atender la seguridad de nuestros estudiantes, maestros y personal y lo que es más importante, ¡mantener a nuestros estudiantes en sus asientos con la escuela abierta!
Ya que abrimos la escuela la próxima semana, después de mucha deliberación, análisis y oración, se decidió que exigiremos cubre bocas apropiados para todos los estudiantes, personal y visitantes cuando estén en la Escuela del Sagrado Corazón durante el día. Hemos determinado que en la mayoría de las clases, los estudiantes pueden sentarse a una distancia segura (3 pies o más, como lo determina el Centro de Control de Enfermedades) entre sí. Si esto se cumple, los estudiantes podrán quitarse los cubre bocas.
Las razones son las siguientes:

Como dije anteriormente, debemos ser conscientes de la seguridad de nuestros estudiantes, maestros y personal. Este curso de acción, parece estar más en consonancia con la conciencia.

La experiencia nos dice que una educación virtual alternativa puede ser una obstrucción potencial grave para el progreso educativo de nuestros hijos. Debemos hacer todo lo posible para mantener a nuestros estudiantes en sus asientos y el edificio de la escuela abierto para el aprendizaje en persona.

Los cubrebocas limitarán el grado de individuos en cuarentena cuando surjan inevitables casos positivos aquí en la escuela, nuevamente, manteniendo a los estudiantes en sus asientos y la escuela abierta.

El número de casos en el Condado de Pettis es indudablemente alto, lo que nos coloca en una situación grave.

La comunidad médica, tanto a nivel local como nacional, recomienda que usemos cubrebocas y sugiramos este paso como un medio para controlar mejor los niveles de enfermedad en nuestra comunidad local.
El grupo de liderazgo de la escuela ha determinado que esta es la mejor opción de acuerdo con el bien común de la comunidad, la parroquia y la escuela.
Apoyamos el desempeño de los padres de familia como el primer y mejor maestro del niño y como el último responsable de su salud y seguridad. Nuevamente, al momento de escribir estas líneas, estaremos comenzando el año escolar pidiendo cubrebocas cuando los estudiantes estén en la escuela. También estaremos ansiosos por ajustarnos tan pronto como la situación mejore.
Nuestro estado está constantemente sujeto a cambios en función de la situación en la(s) próxima(s) semana(s). Revisaremos y actuaremos con frecuencia. No podemos saber qué nos depara la próxima semana o el próximo mes. Lo que podemos hacer es continuar orando por el alivio de esta situación pandémica y ¡continuar orando por un regreso a una forma más normal de operaciones!
Plan de Reapertura y Protocolos
Nuestro objetivo final es mantener a nuestros estudiantes y personal en la escuela. Esto se puede lograr limitando la propagación de COVID y reduciendo las posibilidades de ser un contacto cercano, lo que resulta en tener que poner en cuarentena. El plan adjunto está diseñado con ese objetivo en mente, permitiendo la flexibilidad de realizar nuestra rutina diaria de la manera más normal posible.
Con esto dicho, hemos decido regresar a la escuela a un nivel de protocolo naranja. Esto significa que es necesario para todos los estudiantes, personal y visitantes usar un cubre bocas cuando estén en la Escuela del Sagrado Corazón.
Nos mantenemos atentos y estaremos abiertos a revisar nuestros protocolos actuales según lo consideremos apropiado.

Querido Padre Celestial, hoy vengo a tí sin resolver este próximo paso que están dando mi(s) hijo(s). Acompáñalos y consuela mi corazón. Gracias por todo lo que nos has dado: Gracias por nuestros cálidos y felices recuerdos y por ayudarnos a superar tiempos muy difíciles. Veo tu mano fiel y te pido que me ayudes a confiar en tí, en el futuro. Acompaña a mi(s) hijo(s) mientras dan el siguiente paso. Ayúdalos a recordar todo lo que les he enseñado y todo lo que les has inculcado. Ayúdalos a ser amables y cariñosos, serviciales con otras personas, de carácter fuerte y guerreros para ti y las personas que necesitan tu amor. Abre sus corazones a tu voluntad y abre sus mentes para aprender cosas nuevas. Sobre todo, ayúdalos a saber quienes son como hijos de Dios y dáles una confianza inquebrantable que provenga de conocer tu amor por ellos.
