Holiday Greetings Everyone,
We have officially wrapped up the first semester of the school year. We have had many wonderful blessings and we are so grateful! I would simply like to take this opportunity to personally wish every Sacred Heart School family a blessed and merry Christmas.
School resumes after the holiday break on Wednesday, January 4. As I am sure you are all aware we will hit the ground running in 2023. In January alone we will:

The Polar Express & Santa! (special THANKS to Kehde’s BBQ)
Ms. Keele’s Pre-K classes took a ride on the Polar Express. The conductor (Dr. Jim Davis) punched their tickets and then read the story The Polar Express while the kids enjoyed hot cocoa, marshmallows, candy canes, and donuts. Santa arrived with a jingle bell for everyone! Special thanks to Kehde’s BBQ for letting us use your train. Thank you to Dr. Jim Davis, Santa, and all the volunteers who helped. We had a magical day!
Congratulations to the Winners of the Drone Prize Patrol
Congratulations to Delilah Noble (2nd grade) and Auggie Kramer (3rd grade), winners of the Drone Prize Patrol contest! The Sedalia Police Department Drone Unit and The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 16 sponsored the coloring contest for elementary students grade K-4th. The contest fostered good relations with the community and showed the children the cool technology our police department uses to serve and protect our communities.

Christmas Message from our Pastor
It is with great joy that Father Cesar and I wish each of you a very Merry Christmas! It is right to start by saying thank you to all who have thought of us by giving us gifts, cards and especially prayers! We are also very grateful for your continued presence and active participation in all we do as a parish family! Without us coming together to worship Sunday after Sunday, none of this would make sense or be possible, so thank you! Please take some prayer time in front of the manger, at one of our three chapels, and offer prayers of thanksgiving for all that the Lord God has done for you: none more important than sending his Son into the world to be Son of Man, Son of God; show us how to live to our fullest human potential; die for our sins and rise to new life so we may share in eternal life! Then, when you leave the manger scene after a few moments of prayer remember to show gratitude by being the disciple he has called you to be by serving others with your gifts of time, talent and treasure. As we have said, being a disciple is given to us by our baptism; when we start putting our discipleship into action – by word or deed, then we are living as a steward. As you go forth from the manger, be the best stewards, thankful for all God has done for you and continue to live a life of gratitude. Thank you for being here at St Vincent de Paul/Sacred Heart School and for making our parish and school all that it can be. Let us continue to ask the Lord how He is calling our parish to be even better and then use our gifts to make it become all that He wants it to be. Again, Merry Christmas!
Las Posadas Celebrations
Las Posadas represents the time it took Joseph and Mary to make their way from Nazareth to Bethlehem. Each night, from Thursday, December 15th through Friday, December 23rd, there is a celebration to meditate on the coming of our Lord. It’s a time to come together as a community to share, not only food and beverages, but most importantly our faith. Advent Prayer Service
Sacred Heart School is a wonderful family, and just like any other Christian family, we are waiting joyfully for the arrival of our Savior. For this occasion, week after week, we have been preparing our hearts, minds, and souls with Advent Prayer Services. We gathered together in the McGremlin Gym to pray around the Advent Wreath, following the liturgy of Advent, meditating on the example of all the people who, one way or another, awaited the coming of Jesus. We meditated especially on the example of our Mother. Candle by candle, our hearts have been filled with expectation, and now that we are in the fourth week of Advent, we feel like we can hardly wait a minute longer!
High School Care Package
Last Thursday, after the All School Mass, the high school students received goodie bags with some treats in them as a kind gesture from our pastor. This food and drink was meant to nourish their bodies and minds as they went through semester finals. During finals, students make a great effort to demonstrate what they have learned throughout the semester. This task is definitively energy-consuming, and they all expressed their gratitude for a thoughtful gift that supported them in this challenge.
Celebrating a Career Milestone
On Monday, December 19th Tanner Damlo celebrated a career milestone as he hit his 1000th career point. Congratulations Tanner!

Sacred Heart School President Search
Since 1882, Sacred Heart School has been committed to formation in the Catholic faith, academic achievement, and the development of the whole person. Serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade, Sacred Heart is the mission of St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Sedalia, Missouri.
The successful candidate for President of Sacred Heart School will be an active Catholic, passionate in advancing the Stewardship Model of Catholic education, fostering Catholic Identity, implementing and expanding the current strategic plan, providing for the financial stability and operational vitality of the school, and building community relationships.
Experience in business financial management and confidence in leading the school’s philanthropic efforts will be essential. The President leverages external and internal influence for the long-term viability of the school. The President serves on and is supported by an Advisory Council and reports directly to the pastor of St. Vincent de Paul.
A demonstrated capacity for strategic planning and institutional leadership can be attained through various career paths, including education, non-profit management, or work in the corporate or public sector.

RaiseRight During the Christmas Break
While the school is closed during the Christmas break, physical RaiseRight gift cards will not be available for purchase. Come see us again once school resumes on Wednesday, January 4th. Even though you won’t be able to purchase physical gift cards during the break, you will still be able to take advantage of the RaiseRight app to continue to earn rebates. It’s not too late to get your last minute shopping done and earn rebates at the same time! New this year, you can send egift cards as a gift through the app. When you are purchasing an electronic gift card there is a box under the amount to indicate you want to send it as a gift via email. You can even select a specific date for delivery! It’s one more option to gift giving using the RaiseRight app to make your holiday gift giving even easier.
Our next in house order for physical gift cards will be Monday, January 9th. All orders submitted to the school office by the end of school, or through the RaiseRight app by 8pm, on the 9th will be included in the order. Orders should be ready for pick-up the following week.
Don’t forget we have several retailers ONLY available through the office (i.e. Casey’s, Cenex, Shell, Colton’s, Kehde’s, McD, Menards, Taco Bell, Walgreens, and VISA to name a few). Come in during our volunteer open hours on Tuesday & Thursday from 9:30am – 11am for immediate purchases, or drop your order at the office or email it to scrip@gogremlins.com. Our volunteers will fill your order and let you know when it’s available for pick-up. RaiseRight will not be at Mass the next two weekends. We will be back at all Masses on Sunday, January 8th. Saludos festivos a todos,
Hemos terminado oficialmente el primer semestre del año escolar. ¡Hemos tenido muchas bendiciones maravillosas y estamos muy agradecidos! Simplemente me gustaría aprovechar esta oportunidad para desear personalmente a cada familia de la Escuela del Sagrado Corazón una feliz y bendecida Navidad.

Las clases de pre kínder de la Sra. Keele dieron un paseo en el Polar Express. El conductor (Dr. Jim Davis) marcó sus boletos y luego leyó la historia The Polar Express mientras los niños disfrutaban de chocolate caliente, malvaviscos, bastones de caramelo y donas. ¡Santa llegó con un cascabel para todos! ¡Felicitaciones a Delilah Noble (segundo grado) y Auggie Kramer (tercer grado), ganadores del concurso Drone Prize Patrol! La Unidad de Drones del Departamento de Policía de Sedalia y The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 16 patrocinaron el concurso de colorear para estudiantes de primaria de K-4to grado. El concurso fomentó las buenas relaciones con la comunidad y mostró a los niños la tecnología genial que usa nuestro departamento de policía para servir y proteger a nuestras comunidades.

Mensaje de navidad de nuestro pastor
¡Es con gran alegría que el Padre César y yo les deseamos a cada uno de ustedes una muy Feliz Navidad! ¡Es correcto comenzar dando las gracias a todos los que han pensado en nosotros dándonos regalos, tarjetas y especialmente oraciones! ¡También estamos muy agradecidos por su presencia continua y participación activa en todo lo que hacemos como familia parroquial! Sin que nos reunamos para adorar domingo tras domingo, nada de esto tendría sentido ni sería posible, ¡así que gracias! Por favor tome un tiempo de oración frente al pesebre, en una de nuestras tres capillas, y ofrezca oraciones de acción de gracias por todo lo que el Señor Dios ha hecho por usted: nada más importante que enviar a su Hijo al mundo para que sea el Hijo del Hombre, Hijo de Dios; muéstranos cómo vivir a nuestro máximo potencial humano; ¡Morir por nuestros pecados y resucitar a una nueva vida para que podamos compartir la vida eterna! Luego, cuando dejes el pesebre después de unos momentos de oración, recuerda mostrar gratitud siendo el discípulo que él te ha llamado servir a los demás con tus dones de tiempo, talento y tesoro. Como hemos dicho, el ser discípulo nos lo da nuestro bautismo; cuando comenzamos a poner en práctica nuestro discipulado, ya sea de palabra o de hecho, entonces estamos viviendo como mayordomos. Al salir del pesebre, sean los mejores mayordomos, agradecidos por todo lo que Dios ha hecho por ustedes y continúen viviendo una vida de gratitud. Gracias por estar aquí en San Vicente de Paul/Escuela del Sagrado Corazón y por hacer de nuestra parroquia y escuela todo lo que puede ser. Sigamos preguntándole al Señor cómo está llamando a nuestra parroquia a ser aún mejor y luego usemos nuestros dones para que se convierta en todo lo que Él quiere que sea. De nuevo, ¡Feliz Navidad!
Celebraciones de Las Posadas
Las Posadas representan el tiempo que les tomó a José y María hacer su camino de Nazaret a Belén. Cada noche, desde el jueves 15 de diciembre hasta el viernes 23 de diciembre, hay una celebración para meditar en la venida de nuestro Señor. Es un momento para unirnos como comunidad para compartir, no sólo alimentos y bebidas, sino lo más importante, nuestra fe. Celebrando la Primera Reconciliación
A medida que continuamos nuestro viaje a través del Adviento, estos estudiantes prepararon sus corazones de una manera especial al recibir el sacramento de la Primera Reconciliación por primera vez el pasado fin de semana.

Servicio de Oración de Adviento
La Escuela del Sagrado Corazón es una familia maravillosa, y como cualquier otra familia cristiana, estamos esperando con alegría la llegada de nuestro Salvador. Para esta ocasión, semana tras semana, hemos estado preparando nuestros corazones, mentes y almas con los Servicios de Oración de Adviento. Nos reunimos en el McGremlin Gym para orar alrededor de la Corona de Adviento, siguiendo la liturgia de Adviento, meditando en el ejemplo de todas las personas que, de una forma u otra, esperaban la venida de Jesús. Meditamos especialmente en el ejemplo de nuestra Madre. Vela a vela, nuestros corazones se han llenado de expectativa, y ahora que estamos en la cuarta semana de Adviento, ¡sentimos que no podemos esperar ni un minuto más!
Paquetes de regalos para los alumnos de preparatoria
Después de la misa de toda la escuela, los estudiantes de la escuela preparatoria recibieron bolsas de regalos con algunas golosinas como un gesto amable de nuestro párroco. Esta comida y bebida estaba destinada a nutrir sus cuerpos y mentes mientras pasaban por los finales del semestre. Durante los exámenes finales, los estudiantes hacen un gran esfuerzo para demostrar lo que han aprendido a lo largo del semestre. Esta tarea definitivamente consume energía, y todos expresaron su gratitud por un regalo considerado que los apoyó en este desafío.
Celebrando un hito profesional
El lunes 19 de diciembre, Tanner Damlo celebró un hito en su carrera al alcanzar el punto número 1000 de su carrera. ¡Felicidades Tanner!

RaiseRight Durante las vacaciones de navidad

Venga a vernos nuevamente una vez que se reanuden las clases el miércoles 4 de enero.
