From the Faith and Formation Director: United as One Body in Christ

Our First All-School Mass

United as One Body in Christ

How beautiful it was to see each of our students at Mass together with their parents! It reminded me of the Bible passage in which Mary and Joseph lost Jesus for three days. When they returned to look for Him, they found Him in the temple. We can see that Mary and Joseph were Jesus’ first teachers in the faith. They walked with Him, taught Him, and guided Him in His relationship with God. This morning, we were also able to see our parents walking alongside their children in faith. We remember the words of Jesus: “Let the children come to me.” Today, we begin a new school year united as a family, as a community, and as one body in Christ. What a beautiful way to begin: by putting Jesus at the center of everything! May we continue to walk together in faith throughout this new school year, always putting Christ first.

We would also like to extend a special invitation to parents to join their children at Mass whenever possible. Every Tuesday at 8:30 a.m., we celebrate Mass for our elementary students, and every Thursday, we celebrate Mass for our middle school and high school students.

For our students and families who are not Catholic: you are warmly invited to come forward during Communion with your arms crossed over your chest. This is a silent gesture that lets the priest or minister know that you will not be receiving the Eucharist but would like to receive a blessing.

This will be a beautiful opportunity for us to continue growing together as families and to accompany our children on their journey of faith.

Blessings to our entire Sacred Heart family!
