Hello, my name is Jose Maria Gonzalez, or, for so many students, Mr. G. You have probably seen me already around SHS, if not wearing the administrative hat, working as the Director of Faith Formation, or teaching Math and Religion. Since 2021, I’ve been blessed to serve God in this community in different ways, and now, He has called me to start a new chapter as the high school math teacher. I will be doing that in conjunction with my duties as Director of Religious Education at St. Vincent de Paul Parish. I hold master’s degrees in Educational Leadership from the University of Iowa and Civil Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes in Chile. I have completed undergraduate coursework in theology and philosophy, and I am halfway through the Diaconal Program. I enjoy getting my students excited about the different topics our curriculum presents, connecting their learning to real-life situations that resonate with their personal lives, including their life of faith. I live in Sedalia with my wife Sara, our son Max, and our dog Opal.
