Dear Sacred Heart Families,
Thank you for a wonderful school year! This year has been one of constant learning, growth, and faith. We are incredibly grateful for your endless support and love this past school year.
Congratulations to our senior class of 2025! Here are some of their great achievements:

17 out of 21 students will graduate with honors with a GPA of 3.0+ or above.
-
16 out of the 21 members of this class have already completed one or more college courses. They will carry over 195 hours of college credit with them as they graduate from Sacred Heart School.

The senior class has collectively been offered over $2,126,474 in scholarships so far, with approximately $728,750 set to be utilized.
-
Paige Diller was named Valedictorian, and Sophie Anderson was named Salutatorian.
A complete list of scholarships will be shared soon.
We foster an environment that prioritizes academic excellence and instills in our young people a sense of pride in their academic endeavors! Well done, Class of 2025!
Congratulations also to our Pre-Kindergarten and 8th-grade graduates!

As you are aware, I have been relatively quiet in The Beat this year, turning most of my responsibilities here to the Faith Formation Director, first Father Berhorst and then Fr Clever. I want to say a big “thank you” to both of them as well as everyone who assisted them in any way, including Mrs. Blackburn, to take our faith formation to a whole new level this year. I greatly appreciate the “Athletes and Disciples” prayer services and the uptick in how the Athletes’ Masses went due in large part to the Hladik’s help. Also, it was an act of the Holy Spirit that gave Fr Clever an office in the school. This was a huge benefit for drop ins, one-on-ones, and closeness to classrooms for impromptu visits. I was impressed and gratified by the amount of work Fr. Berhorst and Mrs. Manning had done on the mission trip and how well Mrs. Manning and Fr Clever seamlessly transitioned to make sure it was an excellent success. I was also grateful that Fr Clever was able to roll with the change that he was going to take full responsibility for the high school retreat; his response was to utilize the Seniors in an amazing way. Both priests served us admirably in the role of Director of Faith Formation taking us to new heights.
Another change that took place was the administration leadership with Mrs. Jenkins and Ms. McMullin. What a dynamic duo they have been this year! The amount of newness and change of culture they were able to do in one academic year is beyond impressive, and I am so thankful to them! I cannot, in good conscience, and space, begin to name the good they have done because there were just too many to mention. So, thank you for an incredible year in leadership to the two of you. As I already mentioned above, a big thank you to Mrs. Manning going above and beyond as moderator for Seniors and sixth grade and for the exceptional work in all of her classes, Mrs. Manning. I think that the Seniors asked you to give the farewell address speaks well about how loved you truly are and the passion you put into all that you do. I could write so much about each of our faculty, administration, support staff, students, and parents, but because these Beat items are supposed to be short, I better end here. Thank you so much, to all of you, for a wonderful year! Let’s give God the credit for He is the giver of all good things.
Hey all,
For my final Beat article, I just wanted to take a second to say thanks. First to our wonderful staff at the school. From Fr. Joe, to Mrs. Howell, Mrs. Jenkins, and Mrs McMullin, to all the teachers and the rest of our staff from the janitor crew, cafeteria staff, and secretaries. It has been such a blessing to get to work with them and be part of a team that works together so well and cares about the students so much. I will greatly miss getting to see, talk, and work with all of them.
Most of all I will miss all of you, you are wonderful families though. Sacred Heart is a special place, and it is the students and their parents that make it such a wonderful place. It has been such a joy getting to be a shepherd to all of you and I want to thank each of you so much for the environment you create at this school. I always looked forward to being able to visit school events from classrooms to sports, and that is in large part due to the fact that we have wonderful and hilarious students who also have great parents. I will miss this Sacred Heart greatly, but please know of my prayers for all of you that you can be the great saints our Lord Jesus is calling you to be, and please pray for me!

2025 Diocesan Summer Camps Registration NOW Open!
It’s not too early to look at your summer calendars now and start making plans for activities and trips for your children for the summer. Once again, this year, the Diocese of Jefferson City is offering several opportunities for our youth to build and strengthen their faith and their relationship with God. For those not ready for overnight camps, Totus Tuus will be returning to our parish again this summer from Sunday, June 15th thru Friday, June 20th (Sunday thru Thursday for junior high and high school age youth, and Monday thru Friday for elementary age youth).

P23 Discernment Camp For Junior High Boys
Camp P23 is an overnight summer camp for junior high boys that pulls from Psalm 23 in looking at Christ and his priests through the identity of a shepherd. Over 3 days/2 nights at this outdoor focused experience, campers join small groups led by seminarians and participate in games, prayer, and activities that promote openness to the priestly vocation. Estimadas familias del Sagrado Corazón:
¡Gracias por un maravilloso año escolar! Este año ha sido de constante aprendizaje, crecimiento y fe. Estamos increíblemente agradecidos por su inagotable apoyo y cariño durante este último año escolar.
¡Felicitaciones a nuestros seniors de 2025! Estos son algunos de sus grandes logros:

Como saben, este año he estado relativamente callado en el Beat, delegando la mayor parte de mis responsabilidades en el Director de Formación en la Fe, primero el Padre Berhorst y luego el Padre Clever. Quiero darles las gracias a ambos, así como a todos los que los ayudaron de alguna manera, incluyendo a la Sra. Blackburn, para llevar nuestra formación en la fe a un nivel completamente nuevo este año. Agradezco enormemente los servicios de oración de “Atletas y Discípulos” y el aumento en el desarrollo de las Misas de los Atletas, debido en gran parte a la ayuda de los Hladiks. Además, fue un acto del Espíritu Santo que el Padre Clever tuviera una oficina en la escuela. Esto fue de gran ayuda para las visitas espontáneas, las reuniones individuales y la proximidad a los salones para visitas improvisadas. Me impresionó y me gratificó la cantidad de trabajo que realizó el Padre Berhorst y la Sra. Manning se habían desempeñado en el viaje misionero, y la fluidez con la que la Sra. Manning y el Padre Clever se adaptaron para asegurar que fuera un éxito rotundo. También agradecí que el Padre Clever se adaptara al cambio y asumiera la plena responsabilidad del retiro de la preparatoria; su respuesta fue aprovechar al máximo a los seniors. Ambos sacerdotes nos sirvieron admirablemente como Directores de Formación en la Fe, llevándonos a nuevas alturas.
Otro cambio que se produjo fue, por supuesto, el liderazgo administrativo con las Sras. Jenkins y McMullin. ¡Qué dúo dinámico han formado este año! La cantidad de novedades y cambios culturales que lograron en un solo año académico es impresionante, ¡y estoy muy agradecido! No puedo, en conciencia y con el espacio, empezar a enumerar todo el bien que han hecho, porque fueron demasiados. Así que, gracias por un año increíble de liderazgo para ustedes dos. Como ya mencioné, muchas gracias a la Sra. Manning por su gran trabajo como moderadora para los seniors y sexto grado, y por el excepcional trabajo en todas sus clases. Creo que el hecho de que los seniors le pidieran que diera el discurso de despedida habla bien de lo querida que es y de la pasión que pone en todo lo que hace. Podría escribir muchísimo sobre cada uno de nuestros profesores, administración, personal de apoyo, estudiantes y padres, pero como se supone que estos artículos del Beat son breves, mejor termino aquí. ¡Muchísimas gracias a todos por un año maravilloso! Demos crédito a Dios, pues Él es el Dador de todo lo bueno.

Para mi último artículo de Beat, solo quería tomar un momento para agradecerles. Primero, a nuestro maravilloso personal de la escuela. Desde el Padre Joe hasta la Sra. Howell, la Sra. Jenkins y la Sra. McMullin, pasando por todos los maestros y el resto del personal, desde el personal de limpieza, el personal de la cafetería y las secretarías. Sobre todo, los extrañaré a todos ustedes, son familias maravillosas. Sagrado Corazón es un lugar especial, y son los estudiantes y sus padres quienes lo hacen tan maravilloso. Ha sido una gran alegría ser su guía y quiero agradecerles enormemente a cada uno por el ambiente que crean en esta escuela. Siempre esperaba con ilusión poder asistir a los eventos escolares, desde los salones hasta los deportes, y eso se debe en gran parte a que tenemos alumnos maravillosos y divertidísimos que también tienen padres estupendos. Extrañaré mucho este Sagrado Corazón, pero sepan que rezo por todos ustedes para que puedan ser los grandes santos que nuestro Señor Jesús los llama a ser, ¡y por favor, oren por mí!
