Dear Gremlin Family,
We have nearly made it to the end of the year! Thank you all for helping to make it so wonderful. Please check the school calendar for upcoming events and times! This is the time of year for me when things start to “fall through the cracks”. Graduations, field day, exams, and early dismissals can all be found on the school calendar.
We have spent a wonderful week trying to make our school staff feel appreciated! Ms. McMullin and I have hosted a “Survivor” school edition game that has kept us all in laughs and having fun! Thanks to many of you who have also taken the time to thank our school staff for what they do. We’ve had donuts, veggies, cold drinks, and pizza from our SH community! There is no one quite like this group of teachers and staff. They love our school and make it what it is. They are amazing with your students and each other, and I am very proud of all of them.
Have a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend! My prayer for our mothers is that you are filled with the peace and love of Christ now and always.

Meet Our New Priests
Fr Martin Masiisa was born in Uganda. He is the 8th of 8 children to his parents, Phillip and Maria. His mom is deceased. On August 12, 2017 he was ordained a transitional deacon and on August 11, 2018 he was ordained a priest for the archdiocese of Kampala. He has been assigned to two parishes in his home archdiocese and then in February 2025, he came to our diocese where he has been ministering alongside Fr Lenoard at St Thomas and Meta, MO. He likes to bring peace to where he is and to those around him. He enjoys adventures, getting to know a lot of people and making friends. He loves natural foods and playing or watching sports. One of Fr. Martin’s key responsibilities at St Vincent de Paul will be faith formation director of the school. Plan to see him very active in all areas of parish life. He will not be with us a lot on the weekends as he will be covering for priests who are on vacation or otherwise away from their parishes.
Fr. Greiven Rodriguez was born in Costa Rica. He is the sixth of six children born Maria Ada and Urbano. He has studied accounting, business management, secondary education, philosophy, humanities, theology, food handling and topography. He was assigned to four parishes in his diocese as well as served as diocesan advisor for Liturgy and diocesan advisor for catechesis and catechetical renewal. He was ordained a deacon in 2011 and a priest January 28, 2012 for his diocese of Puntarenas. He came to the diocese of Jefferson City in 2024 and was assigned with Fr Francis Doyle in Marshall and Slater and is coming to us from Milan and Unionville. To relax, he likes watching and playing soccer, exercising, reading and watching television. Some of Fr Greiven’s responsibilities at St Vincent de Paul will be welcoming our families back to church and helping our active parishioners enroll their children in the school. Plan to see him very active in all areas of parish life.
Hey all,
Today was an incredibly exciting week! First and foremost because we got our next pope! It is such a blessing to have another spiritual father, and while it is always hard to see one go onto his reward, it is such a blessing to have a Bishop in Rome again. It is particularly special for us, as he is an American, and he took a great name-Leo XIV. Please keep him in your prayers that he could be a prudent and holy steward of the task entrusted into his care, and continue to pray for the holiness of the Church.
In other important news, we celebrated first communion with our second graders over the weekend. It was such a blessing to see them receive our Lord, present in the Eucharist, at mass. Let us pray that each time they receive him, they come to love him in deeper and deeper ways. And a huge congrats to each of them! It was such a joy getting to distribute communion to them on Tuesday as well!
We also had a couple of important events for our middle schoolers. Our 8th graders got to go celebrate mass at the Cathedral, and our 6th graders got to go to 6th grade Vocations Day at Our Lady of Lourdes in Columbia, MO. Both were wonderful events where they got the chance to encounter our Lord, and I highly encourage you to talk to them about these two days if you get the chance!
Know of my continued prayers for all of you, and please pray for me as well as for our new pope! Viva il Papa!

New Pope Has Been Elected
Pope Leo XIV, formerly known as Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, was elected as the 267th Pope on May 8, 2025. Pope Leo XIV is the first pope from the United States.

Senior Spotlight
Conner Brown
Conner is excited to announce that he will be attending Missouri State – West Plains in the fall! He will be majoring in business and joining the basketball team. Go Grizzlies! Conner is looking forward to living on campus and gaining independence. He will miss all his friends and faculty here at SH, being with his family and cousins, and his mom’s cooking the most! Best of luck to you, Conner!
Paige Diller
Paige is heading to the University of Missouri – Columbia in the fall! Paige will be majoring in political science. She hopes to work for the intelligence community or attend law school in the future. Paige is looking forward to experiencing dorm-life and rooming with her friend, Laysha. She is excited to decorate her dorm room and learn more about her interests. Paige will miss going to Mass at SH with her classmates, her parents, and siblings the most while away at college. We will miss you, Paige!
Daniil Perets
Daniil will be heading to State Fair Community College in the fall! Daniil plans to major in Automotive Technology while at SFCC. He is looking forward to learning the basics of being a mechanic. Daniil will miss art class and a creative writing class that he took, but will especially miss the feeling of community at SH. Good luck to you, Daniil

It’s not too late to look at your summer calendars now and start making plans for activities and trips for your children for the summer. Once again, this year, the Diocese of Jefferson City is offering several opportunities for our youth to build and strengthen their faith and their relationship with God. For those not ready for overnight camps, Totus Tuus will be returning to our parish again this summer from Sunday, June 15th thru Friday, June 20th (Sunday thru Thursday for junior high and high school age youth, and Monday thru Friday for elementary age youth).

Camp P23 is an overnight summer camp for junior high boys that pulls from Psalm 23 in looking at Christ and his priests through the identity of a shepherd. Stop in at the school office on Tuesdays and Thursdays during our volunteer open hours from 9:00am – 11:00am for immediate purchases, or drop your order at the school office or email it to the program coordinator. Our volunteers will fill your order on Tuesdays and Thursdays and let you know when it’s available for pick-up. RaiseRight will not be at Masses this weekend. Querida Familia Gremlin:
¡Ya casi llegamos al final del año! Gracias a todos por ayudarnos a hacerlo tan maravilloso. ¡Por favor, consulten el calendario escolar para ver los próximos eventos y horarios! Esta es la época del año en la que las cosas empiezan a pasar desapercibidas. Graduaciones, días de campo, exámenes y salidas tempranas: todo está en el calendario escolar.
¡Hemos pasado una semana maravillosa intentando que nuestro personal escolar se sienta apreciado! La Sra. McMullin y yo organizamos un juego de “Survivor” que nos ha hecho reír y divertirnos. Gracias a muchos de ustedes que también se han tomado el tiempo de agradecer a nuestro personal escolar por su trabajo. ¡Hemos disfrutado de donas, verduras, bebidas frías y pizza de nuestra comunidad de SH! No hay nadie como este grupo de profesores y personal. Aman nuestra escuela y la hacen lo que es. Son increíbles con sus alumnos y entre ellos, y estoy muy orgullosa de todos ellos.
¡Que tengan un maravilloso fin de semana del Día de la Madre! Mi oración por nuestras madres es que estén llenas de la paz y el amor de Cristo ahora y siempre.

Conozca a nuestros nuevos sacerdotes
El Padre Martin Masiisa nació en Uganda. Es el octavo de ocho hijos de sus padres, Phillip y Maria. Su madre falleció. El 12 de agosto de 2017 fue ordenado diácono transitorio y el 11 de agosto de 2018 fue ordenado sacerdote para la archidiócesis de Kampala. Ha estado asignado a dos parroquias en su archidiócesis natal y, en febrero de 2025, llegó a nuestra diócesis, donde ha ejercido su ministerio junto al Padre Lenoard en St. Thomas y Meta, Missouri. Le gusta llevar paz a donde vaya y a quienes lo rodean. Disfruta de las aventuras, conocer gente y hacer amigos. Le encantan los alimentos naturales y practicar o ver deportes. Una de las principales responsabilidades del Padre Martin en San Vicente de Paúl será la de director de formación en la fe de la escuela. Se espera que participe activamente en todos los ámbitos de la vida parroquial. No estará mucho con nosotros los fines de semana, ya que estará cubriendo a los sacerdotes que están de vacaciones o fuera de sus parroquias.

Estudió contabilidad, administración de empresas, educación secundaria, filosofía, humanidades, teología, manipulación de alimentos y topografía. Estuvo asignado a cuatro parroquias de su diócesis y se desempeñó como asesor diocesano de Liturgia y de Catequesis y Renovación Catequética. Fue ordenado diácono en 2011 y sacerdote el 28 de enero de 2012 para su diócesis de Puntarenas. Llegó a la diócesis de Jefferson City en 2024 y estuvo asignado con el Padre Francis Doyle en Marshall y Slater, y viene desde Milán y Unionville. Para relajarse, le gusta ver y jugar fútbol, hacer ejercicio, leer y ver televisión. Algunas de las responsabilidades del Padre Greiven en San Vicente de Paúl serán dar la bienvenida a nuestras familias a la iglesia y ayudar a nuestros feligreses activos a matricular a sus hijos en la escuela. Planea en verlo muy activo en todas las áreas de la vida parroquial.

¡Hoy fue una semana increíblemente emocionante! ¡Primero y sobre todo porque tuvimos a nuestro próximo Papa! Es una gran bendición tener otro padre espiritual, y aunque siempre es difícil ver a alguien partir, es una gran bendición tener de nuevo a un obispo en Roma. Es particularmente especial para nosotros, ya que es estadounidense y tomó un gran nombre: León XIV. Por favor, manténganlo presente en sus oraciones para que sea un administrador prudente y santo de la tarea que le fue confiada, y sigan orando por la santidad de la Iglesia.
Otras noticias importantes, celebramos la primera comunión con nuestros alumnos de segundo grado durante el fin de semana. Fue una gran bendición verlos recibir a nuestro Señor, presente en la Eucaristía, en la misa. Oremos para que cada vez que lo reciban, lleguen a amarlo cada vez más profundamente. ¡Y muchísimas felicidades a cada uno de ellos! ¡Fue una gran alegría poder distribuirles la comunión el martes también!
También tuvimos un par de eventos importantes para nuestros alumnos de secundaria. Nuestros alumnos de octavo grado pudieron celebrar misa en la Catedral, y nuestros alumnos de sexto grado asistieron al Día de las Vocaciones de sexto grado en Nuestra Señora de Lourdes en Columbia, Missouri. Ambos fueron eventos maravillosos donde tuvieron la oportunidad de conocer a nuestro Señor, y les animo a que les hablen de estos dos días si tienen la oportunidad.
Sepan que sigo orando por todos ustedes, y por favor, recen por mí y por nuestro nuevo papa. ¡Viva el Papa!

Spotlight de Senior
Conner se complace en anunciar que asistirá a la Universidad Estatal de Missouri – West Plains este otoño. Se especializará en negocios y se unirá al equipo de baloncesto. ¡Vamos Grizzlies! Conner está deseando vivir en el campus y adquirir independencia. Extrañará muchísimo a todos sus amigos y profesores aquí en Sagrado Corazón, estar con su familia y primos, y sobre todo la comida de su mamá. ¡Mucha suerte, Conner!
Paige Diller
Paige irá a la Universidad de Missouri-Columbia en otoño. Se especializará en ciencias políticas. Espera trabajar para la comunidad de inteligencia o estudiar derecho en el futuro. Paige está deseando experimentar la vida en la residencia y compartir habitación con su amiga Laysha. Está emocionada por decorar su dormitorio y aprender más sobre sus intereses. Paige extrañará mucho ir a misa en la SH con sus compañeros, sus padres y sus hermanos durante su tiempo en la universidad. ¡Te extrañaremos, Paige!
Daniil Perets
Daniil irá a State Fair Community College en otoño. Daniil planea especializarse en Tecnología Automotriz mientras esté en SFCC. Tiene muchas ganas de aprender los fundamentos de la mecánica. Daniil extrañará la clase de arte y una clase de escritura creativa que tomó, pero sobre todo extrañará el sentimiento de comunidad en SH. ¡Mucha suerte, Daniil!
