Spring Elementary Concert, Gremmy Awards, & 3rd Annual Art Show
Join us Wednesday, May 8th for “A Night On Broadway” Spring Elementary Concert, Gremmy Awards, and the 3rd Annual Art Show. The Elementary Concert featuring our K-6th grade students will begin at 6:30pm and with the Gremmy Awards featuring our Junior High and High School choirs following at 7:30pm. Come early to enjoy the AMAZING works of art created by our students throughout the school year. You don’t want to miss this evening with the arts!!

The weekend will begin with the ordination ceremony on June 1 at 10 am in the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Jefferson City with a reception immediately following. Let’s pack the cathedral with St. Vincent de Paul faithful as we witness our very own Deacon Christopher Hoffmann’s ordination to the priesthood. First Communion
First Communion holds great importance in the Catholic Church as it is the sacramental moment when a baptized person receives the Eucharist for the first time. This event marks a significant milestone in the spiritual journey of a Catholic and is considered a moment of great joy and grace. “The holy Eucharist completes Christian initiation. Those who have been raised to the dignity of the royal priesthood by Baptism and configured more deeply to Christ by Confirmation participate with the whole community in the Lord’s own sacrifice by means of the Eucharist.” (CCC 1322)
This paragraph emphasizes that the Eucharist is the culmination of Christian initiation. Through the sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation, individuals are incorporated into the Church and receive the grace necessary to live as faithful disciples of Christ. First Communion, therefore, completes this initiation process by allowing the individual to actively participate in the sacrifice of the Eucharist. “The Eucharist is ‘the source and summit of the Christian life.’ The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself.” (CCC 1324)
This passage underscores the central role of the Eucharist in the life of a Catholic. It is not merely a symbolic act but a profound encounter with the person of Jesus Christ. Through the reception of the Eucharist, Catholics are united with Christ in a unique and intimate way, receiving His body, blood, soul, and divinity. First Communion allows individuals to enter into this profound union with Christ for the first time, opening the door to a deeper relationship with Him and the Church.
Blessing of the Seeds
Join us this Saturday, May 4th at St. John Chapel for the 7:30pm Mass where there will be a blessing of the seeds. Bring any seeds you want to be blessed: agricultural, garden, flowers, grass, etc.
Novena to Saint Isidore
St. Isidore the Farmer was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1110 to a poor and humble family. He devoted his life to working as a farmer and died on May 15, 1170. He was canonized on March 22, 1622. The earthly remains of him and his wife are found over the main altar of the cathedral in Madrid, Spain. Maria, his wife, was not officially canonized but is honored as a saint throughout Spanish countries. By a special decree of the Sacred Congregation of Rites, dated February 22, 1947, St. Isidore was constituted as the special protector of Catholic Rural Life and American farmers, and consequently, we can pray to God through the intercession of St. Isidore for the needs of those who farm the land and provide food to millions of people.

El fin de semana comenzará con la ceremonia de ordenación el 1 de junio a las 10 am en la Catedral de St. Joseph en Jefferson City, seguida inmediatamente por una recepción. Primera Communion
La Primera Comunión tiene gran importancia en la Iglesia Católica ya que es el momento sacramental en el que un bautizado recibe la Eucaristía por primera vez. Este evento marca un hito importante en el viaje espiritual de un Católico y se considera un momento de gran alegría y gracia. “La sagrada Eucaristía completa la iniciación Cristiana. Quienes han sido elevados a la dignidad del real sacerdocio por el Bautismo y configurados más profundamente con Cristo por la Confirmación participan con toda la comunidad en el sacrificio del Señor por medio de la Eucaristía”. (CCC 1322)
Este párrafo enfatiza que la Eucaristía es la culminación de la iniciación Cristiana. A través de los sacramentos del Bautismo y la Confirmación, las personas se incorporan a la Iglesia y reciben la gracia necesaria para vivir como fieles discípulos de Cristo. La Primera Comunión, por lo tanto, completa este proceso de iniciación al permitir que el individuo participe activamente en el sacrificio de la Eucaristía. “La Eucaristía es ‘fuente y cumbre de la vida Cristiana’. Novena a San Isidoro
San Isidoro el Labrador nació en Madrid, España, en 1110 en una familia pobre y humilde. Dedicó su vida a trabajar como agricultor y murió el 15 de mayo de 1170. Fue canonizado el 22 de marzo de 1622. Los restos terrenales de él y su esposa se encuentran sobre el altar mayor de la catedral de Madrid, España. María, su esposa, no fue canonizada oficialmente pero es honrada como santa en todos los países españoles. Por decreto especial de la Sagrada Congregación de Ritos, de fecha 22 de febrero de 1947, se constituyó San Isidoro el protector especial de la Vida Rural Católica y de los agricultores americanos, y en consecuencia, podemos rogar a Dios por intercesión de San Isidoro por las necesidades de quienes cultivan la tierra y proporcionan alimentos a millones de personas.

Nuestro próximo pedido interno de tarjetas de regalo físicas será el lunes, 6 de mayo Todos los pedidos enviados a la oficina de la escuela antes del final de clases o a través de la aplicación RaiseRight antes de las 8 p.m. del día 29 se incluirán en el pedido. Los pedidos deberían estar listos para ser recogidos la siguiente semana.

Visite la oficina de la escuela los martes y jueves durante nuestro horario de atención voluntaria de 9:00 a. m. a 11:00 a. m. para compras inmediatas, o deje su pedido en la oficina de la escuela o envíelo por correo electrónico al coordinador del programa. Nuestros voluntarios completarán su pedido los martes y jueves y le informarán cuando esté disponible para ser recogido. Regresamos el domingo, 5 de mayo.
