It has been a great week at Sacred Heart. Our NJHS partnered with the parish and did some great service work at St Patrick’s Chapel. We love having our students in the chapel helping to improve God’s home. We also inducted several new students into NJHS. This is such a blessing to have our students recognized for their hard work.
Thank you to everyone that has completed their 24-25 enrollment with Sacred Heart School. We are very grateful for your partnership in the education of your child(ren). You are what makes Sacred Heart the extraordinary school it is today.

Senior Spotlight – SAMANTHA ALTENA
Samantha is excited to announce that she will be heading to the University of Missouri-Columbia this fall! Samantha plans to pursue the Pre-Medicine path. She is looking forward to meeting new people, and is happy that many of her friends are also going to Mizzou. She will miss seeing her classmates everyday and her mom and Mariah the most. We will miss you too, Sammy!
Senior Spotlight – GEORGE BAIN IV
George is attending State Fair Community College in the fall! George plans to major in business and will be joining the soccer team. Go Roadrunners! He is looking forward to playing soccer and having more free time in college. George is going to miss seeing our SH family everyday, playing other sports with his friends, and Ms. McMullin’s history classes. Good luck, George!
Senior Spotlight – LUKE JENKINS
Luke is heading to Springfield, MO to attend Missouri State in the fall! Luke plans to major in business and minor in possibly economics or journalism. Luke’s dream job after college is to become a PGA golf professional. Luke is excited about making a fresh start in Springfield and is fond of the campus. He is going to miss playing soccer and golf at Sacred Heart, his classmates, and his mom the most. We are proud of you, Luke!
Senior Spotlight – THOMAS MERTES
Tommy will be heading to State Fair Community College in the fall! He plans to earn an associate degree in business at SFCC and later pursue a bachelor’s degree in marketing at another university. He is looking forward to taking business classes and will miss the familiarity of Sacred Heart the most. We will miss you too, Tommy!

Solar Eclipse – April 8, 2024
On Monday, April 8th our students were able to see the wonders of the Universe God created with the Solar Eclipse. Thank you to our parents and faculty for donating special Eclipse glasses so our students could experience this amazing opportunity.

Easter Vigil 2024
Easter is the most important and oldest festival in the Christian liturgical calendar. It commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, as described in the New Testament of the Bible. Easter is considered the culmination of the Paschal Mystery, which includes Jesus’ passion, death, and resurrection. It is a time to remember and celebrate the victory of Jesus over sin and death. Through his resurrection, Jesus conquered sin and opened the way to eternal life for all believers.
The celebration of Easter typically begins with the Easter Vigil, a solemn liturgy held on Holy Saturday night. The Vigil includes the lighting of the Easter fire, the blessing of the Paschal Candle, the proclamation of the Easter Exsultet, and the celebration of the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist) for catechumens. Our Parish was blessed with the incorporation of the catechumens in the picture above into our faith community.
On Easter Sunday, Christians gather for joyful Masses and services to commemorate the resurrection. The liturgy is filled with hymns of praise and thanksgiving, readings from the Scriptures, and the proclamation of the Gospel accounts of Jesus’ resurrection. The Eucharist, the central sacrament of the Catholic faith, is also celebrated with great joy and reverence.
Easter is a season of great joy and hope for Christians. It is a time to reflect on the profound mystery of Jesus’ resurrection and its implications for humanity. It is also an opportunity for believers to renew their faith, experience spiritual rebirth, and strive to live in the light of Christ’s victory over sin and death.

Now that Easter is over, summer is right around the corner. It’s not too early to start making plans for summer travel and activities to keep the kids busy once they are out of school. Don’t forget we have several retailers ONLY available through the office (i.e. Casey’s, Cenex, Shell, Colton’s, Kehde’s, McD, Menards, Taco Bell, Walgreens, and VISA to name a few). Stop in at the school office on Tuesdays and Thursdays during our volunteer open hours from 9:00am – 11:00am for immediate purchases, or drop your order at the school office or email it to the program coordinator. Our volunteers will fill your order on Tuesdays and Thursdays and let you know when it’s available for pick-up. RaiseRight will not be at Masses this Sunday. We will be back on Sunday, April 14th. Queridas familias del Sagrado Corazón,
Ha sido una gran semana en Sagrado Corazón. Nuestro NJHS se asoció con la parroquia e hizo un gran trabajo de servicio en la Capilla de San Patricio. Nos encanta tener a nuestros estudiantes en la capilla ayudando a mejorar el hogar de Dios. También incorporamos a varios estudiantes nuevos a NJHS. Es una gran bendición que nuestros estudiantes sean reconocidos por su arduo trabajo.
Gracias a todos los que han completado su inscripción 24-25 en la Escuela del Sagrado Corazón. Estamos muy agradecidos por su colaboración en la educación de su(s) hijo(s). Ustedes son los que hacen del Sagrado Corazón la extraordinaria escuela que es hoy.

Vigilia Pascual 2024
La Pascua es la fiesta más importante y antigua del calendario litúrgico cristiano. En ella, conmemoramos la resurrección de Jesucristo de entre los muertos, como se describe en el Nuevo Testamento de la Biblia. La Pascua se considera la culminación del Misterio Pascual, que incluye la pasión, muerte y resurrección de Jesús. Es un momento para recordar y celebrar la victoria de Jesús sobre el pecado y la muerte. Mediante su resurrección, Jesús venció el pecado y abrió el camino a la vida eterna para todos los creyentes.
La celebración de la Pascua suele comenzar con la Vigilia Pascual, una liturgia solemne que se celebra la noche del Sábado Santo. La Vigilia incluye el encendido del fuego pascual, la bendición del Cirio Pascual, la proclamación del Exsultet Pascual y la celebración de los sacramentos de iniciación (Bautismo, Confirmación y Eucaristía) para los catecúmenos. Nuestra Parroquia fue bendecida con la incorporación de los catecúmenos en la imagen de arriba a nuestra comunidad de fe.
El Domingo de Pascua, los cristianos se reúnen para celebrar misas y servicios llenos de alegría para conmemorar la resurrección de Cristo. La liturgia está llena de himnos de alabanza y acción de gracias, lecturas de las Escrituras y la proclamación de los relatos evangélicos de la resurrección de Jesús. La Eucaristía, sacramento central de la fe católica, también se celebra con gran alegría y reverencia.
La Pascua es una época de gran alegría y esperanza para los cristianos. Es un momento para reflexionar sobre el profundo misterio de la resurrección de Jesús y sus implicaciones para la humanidad. También es una oportunidad para que los creyentes renueven su fe, experimenten un renacimiento espiritual y se esfuercen por vivir a la luz de la victoria de Cristo sobre el pecado y la muerte.
