I want to express my gratitude to all involved, especially Teresa Dillon, our Secretary/Registrar, Liz Van Leer, our Development Director, and the wonderful members of the Active Parents Club (APC). Their hard work and enthusiasm are greatly appreciated.

This is a friendly reminder you are always invited to the Holy Mass. Normally our First through Fifth grade students attend Mass on Tuesdays and our Sixth through Twelfth grade students attend on Thursdays, both at 8:30am at the Sacred Heart Chapel. We Need YOU!! Parents of Sacred Heart students, we need your help for the auction! We’d love to expand our offerings for both the silent and live auctions. If you are interested in donating a theme basket, call the rectory at 660-827-2311. All donations need to be dropped off in either the school office or the rectory by 9/8.
Armor of God (AOG)
As I have mentioned before, Sacred Heart School, along with all the Catholic schools in the Diocese of Jefferson City, are here to assist parents in their children’s education. That educational program covers the spiritual, academic, and physical needs of our students and is meant to bring each one of them to their best. We want them to be successful and good citizens that eventually go to Heaven. Within the spiritual component of this educational program, we have Armor of God, in which each grade level receives an age-appropriate, tangible item (a piece of their Armor of God) with which they can pray, reflect, and grow in their relationship with God. That actual item comes with a series of lessons that help the students make sense of it and use it well. These items act like tools and, just like any tools, it is important to remember the end purpose. They are not magic tokens but instruments that help us pray and get closer to God.
2023-24 Devon Grose Memorial Game
Family and friends of Devon Grose, we invite you to attend The Devon Grose Memorial game on Saturday, September 9th at Clover Dell Park.
The celebration of life is in conjunction with the boys’ soccer season game between Sacred Heart and Jefferson City. Varsity will play at 11:00am, JV will play before the Varsity game. Enjoy a delicious meal for $10. (Age 5 and under are free). Proceeds from the meals will benefit the Devon Grose Memorial Scholarship. You pay for your meal the day of the event.
Devon’s family established the Devon Grose Memorial game following a tragic accident that took Devon’s life in 2016. Devon attended SHS from kindergarten through high school, graduating in 2015.

Youth Volleyball Fall Sign-ups – DEADLINE Wednesday, August 30th
The deadline to get your students signed-up for Sacred Heart Youth Volleyball is fast approaching. It’s not too late to submit your registration form to the school office! Grandstand Concessions – THANK YOU!
WOW! We sure had some busy nights! It was fast-paced but fun! We had over 115 spots filled this year. This time of year is so busy, and we are really grateful to everyone who made the time to be a part of our team in support of Sacred Heart School. SHS benefits from your time and your hard work and it is noticed and appreciated. Many of you juggled time changes, filled in when we had last-minute cancellations, and even stayed later than scheduled to help out the rush. You crushed it even more than Nelly! Tip tip, Hooray to YOU!
PS – We’ll know in a couple of weeks how much the school generated from this work-to-earn opportunity, AND we will be announcing soon the classes with the most participation. (It’s super close!!!)

Active Parents Club (APC) – Reasons Why You Should Join Today!
Active Parents Club is an organization for parents to join to help support SHS teachers, staff, faculty, students, and administrators, not just financially but also in the doing. A main goal is hospitality and assisting or coordinating school events yearly. Join us at our first meeting of the school year on Thursday, September 14th at 12pm at Teremok. We need your ideas to make this school year even better!!

Our first in-house order for physical gift cards for the new school year will be Monday, August 28th. All orders submitted to the school office by the end of school, or through the RaiseRight app by 8pm, on the 28th will be included in the order. Orders should be ready for pick-up the following week.
Don’t forget we have several retailers ONLY available through the office (i.e. Casey’s, Cenex, Shell, Colton’s, Kehde’s, McD, Menards, Taco Bell, Walgreens, and VISA to name a few). Stop in at the school office on Tuesdays and Thursdays during our volunteer open hours from 9:00am – 11:00am for immediate purchases, or drop your order at the school office or email it to the program coordinator. Our volunteers will fill your order on Tuesday and let you know when it’s available for pick-up. Querida comunidad escolar del Sagrado Corazón,
Al celebrar el inicio de este nuevo año escolar, les damos una cordial bienvenida a todos ustedes. El éxito de nuestra jornada de puertas abiertas y del New Family Mixer generó un aire de entusiasmo y conexión. Quiero tomarme un momento para expresar mi gratitud personal a Liz Van Leer, nuestra dedicada Directora de Desarrollo, y a los increíbles miembros del Active Parents Club (APC). Se agradece enormemente su arduo trabajo y entusiasmo.
Los invito de todo corazón a abrazar el espíritu de nuestra escuela uniéndose a APC. Este grupo dirigido por padres tiene como objetivo fomentar la hospitalidad y atender las necesidades de nuestra querida comunidad escolar. Nuestras reuniones mensuales de APC no sólo ofrecen la oportunidad de contribuir sino también de conectarse. Para unirse a APC, simplemente comuníquese con Annette Owens, presidenta de APC.

Armadura de Dios (AOG)
Como mencioné antes, la Escuela del Sagrado Corazón, junto con todas las escuelas católicas de la Diócesis de Jefferson City, están aquí para ayudar a los padres en la educación de sus hijos. Ese programa educativo cubre las necesidades espirituales, académicas y físicas de nuestros estudiantes y está destinado a llevar a todos y cada uno de ellos a su mejor nivel. Queremos que sean buenos ciudadanos y exitosos que eventualmente vayan al Cielo. Dentro del componente espiritual de este programa educativo, tenemos La Armadura de Dios, en el que cada grado recibe un objeto tangible apropiado para su edad (una pieza de su Armadura de Dios) con el que pueden orar, reflexionar y crecer en su relación con Dios. Ese elemento tangible viene con una serie de lecciones que ayudan a los estudiantes a darle sentido y hacer un buen uso de él. Estos elementos actúan como herramientas y, como cualquier herramienta, es importante tener en cuenta cuál es el propósito final. No son piezas mágicas sino instrumentos que nos ayudan a orar y acercarnos a Dios.
Juego conmemorativo de Devon Grose 2023-24
Familiares y amigos de Devon Grose, los invitamos a asistir al juego The Devon Grose Memorial el sábado 9 de septiembre en Clover Dell Park.
La celebración de la vida se lleva a cabo en conjunción con el juego de la temporada de fútbol masculino entre el Sagrado Corazón y Jefferson City. ¡GUAU! ¡Seguro que tuvimos algunas noches ocupadas! ¡Fue rápido pero divertido! Este año se cubrieron más de 115 plazas. Esta época del año es muy ocupada y estamos muy agradecidos con todos los que se tomaron el tiempo para ser parte de nuestro equipo de apoyo a la Escuela del Sagrado Corazón. SHS se beneficia de su tiempo y su arduo trabajo y es notado y apreciado. Muchos de ustedes hicieron malabares con los cambios de horario, cubrieron cuando tuvimos cancelaciones de último momento e incluso se quedaron más tarde de lo programado para ayudar con las prisas. ¡Lo aplastaste incluso más que Nelly! ¡Hurra por TI!
PD: en un par de semanas sabremos cuánto generó la escuela con esta oportunidad de trabajar para ganar dinero y pronto anunciaremos las clases con mayor participación. (¡¡¡Está muy cerca!!!)

Active Parents Club es una organización a la que los padres pueden unirse para ayudar a apoyar a los maestros, el personal, los profesores, los estudiantes y los administradores de SHS, no solo financieramente sino también en el desempeño. Un objetivo principal es la hospitalidad y ayudar o coordinar eventos escolares anualmente. Nuestro primer pedido interno del nuevo año escolar de tarjetas de regalo físicas será el lunes 28 de agosto. Todos los pedidos enviados a la oficina de la escuela antes del final de clases, o a través de la aplicación RaiseRight antes de las 8 p. m. del día 28, se incluirán en el pedido. Los pedidos deberían estar listos para ser recogidos la semana siguiente.
No olvide que tenemos varios minoristas SOLO disponibles a través de la oficina (es decir, Casey’s, Cenex, Shell, Colton’s, Kehde’s, McD, Menards, Taco Bell, Walgreens y VISA, por nombrar algunos). Visite la oficina de la escuela los martes y jueves durante nuestro horario de atención voluntaria de 9:00 a. m. a 11:00 a. m. para compras inmediatas, o deje su pedido en la oficina de la escuela o envíelo por correo electrónico al coordinador del programa. Nuestros voluntarios completarán su pedido el martes y le informarán cuando esté disponible para ser recogido. RaiseRight estará en las misas dominicales el 27 de agosto.
