  • Today is the Feast day of St. Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows.  Saint Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows is a Patron Saint of Clergy, Students, Young People.  Let’s Pray….

O God, You taught Saint Gabriel to dwell upon the sorrows of Your most sweet Mother, and You raised him to the glory of holiness and miracles. Grant that we may also share Our Lady’s sorrows, and be saved by her protection and intercession.  Through your son Jesus Holy Name.  Amen.

  • The Sacred Heart Jr. High Speech team participated in and hosted the Bellarmine Speech Contest on Saturday, Feb. 25. All six team members earned a blue ribbon (highest awarded) Madison Hill and Sofia Guevara for their duet, “Third Mouse From the Left”); Eliza Noble for her Humorous Interpretation, “Harry the Moth”; Sidnee City for her Humorous Interpretation, “Why Shopping Should be an Olympic Sport”, Maggie Van Leer for her Serious Interpretation, “Making Sarah Cry”; and Kendall DeHaven for her Serious Interpretation, “Just Being There”.  Way to go Girls!
  • The Sacred Heart High School Speech team competed at the Cole Camp Invitational on Saturday February 25th.  The results are as follows: 
    • Jr. Mariah Van Leer placed 1st in Humorous Interpretation.  
    • Soph. Sophie Anderson placed 2nd in Storytelling. 
    • Mariah Van Leer and Sophie Anderson placed 1st in Duo Interpretation. 
    • Frosh Logan Howell placed 5th in Extemporaneous Speaking
    • Frosh Mary Butner placed 3rd in Prose. 
    • Frosh Mary Butner and Bailee Vogel placed 6th in Improvisational Duet Acting. 
    • Jr. Lexi Owens placed 4th in Radio Speaking. 
    • Soph. Paige Diller, Sarah Hill and Laysha Lopez competed and represented the school admirably as well. 

As a team Sacred Heart placed 3rd in Sweepstakes. Great job Grems!

  • The Gremlin Student Store and Cafe are open every day after school. We now have pickle juice for 25 cents! Special deal for February Strawberry Watermelon Pink Prime and a Chocolate treat for only $2.50. Please stop by today to see Jackson and Luke! 
  • Attention 6-8th grade! There is a math contest for you! Sign-ups are on Mrs. Hill’s door!
  • If you expressed interest to Mr. Gonzalez in attending NCYC, please check your email and respond immediately. 
  • Attention ALL band members: Practice records are due for your homework grade on Monday, February 27th – Even if you DID NOT have band class this week. If you would like to pick up your practice record, they are located in the turn in tray in the band room.
  • Wristbands for Coen are still available and are in the school office. We are asking for a minimum $2 donation with all proceeds going to the Brown family. 
  • HIGH SCHOOL track and field practice starts TODAY. Please meet Coach Smith in the McGremlin Gym after school dressed for practice.
  • Starting Wednesday, March 1st shorts are permitted. Please make sure they are dress code appropriate.  Need shorts? Stop by the Gremlin Student Store! We have lots in stock. Get two pairs for $5 or fill a black bag for $20. 
  • High school students on Wednesday, March 1st Student Council will be giving out candy to everyone with crazy fun and/or Sacred Heart socks. Show your socks, get candy!
  • Senior Recognition materials for the yearbook are due Wednesday, March 1st. Please send them to Mrs. Howell. 
  • Entering the Jostens Photo Contest? You can win $1,000 plus a camera. All entries are due on Wednesday, March 1st. See the pink flyer or Mrs. Howell.

Winter Sports Action:

Varsity/JV Boys Basketball (19-10, 7-3,  JV 10-7) – The varsity boys completed their season bringing home the 2nd place trophy in the District Tournament Friday night in Lincoln.  The boys were 19-10 on the year and 7-3 in conference play.  Good Season Guys!
