  • ANY JUNIORS OR SENIORS Interested in Healthcare should consider applying for Bothwell Regional Health Center’s “Medical Explorers” program.  This is an excellent program, at no charge, that will give students an in-depth look into what career fields are available in the medical industry.   • The Gremlin Student Store and Cafe are open every day after school. We have lots of new crewnecks and spirit wear! Please stop by today to see Jackson and Oz.
  • There will be a meeting today during homeroom in the Hoying gym for all high school students not in band. 
  • Following the meeting in the Hoying Gym this morning, there will be a meeting in the commons for all HS students interested in playing baseball. 
  • There will be a meeting for any HS girls and boys interested in playing basketball TODAY immediately after school in the commons. 
  • There will be a mandatory meeting for all NJHS members during homeroom on Friday, October 14th in Mrs. Hill’s room. Please be prompt. 
  • Discount Cards must be turned in by Thursday, October 13th in order to qualify for incentives for your class. Please return your envelopes to the office.
  • THIS IS Fall Homecoming week! Reminder to all high school students. You must be dressed up in the homecoming theme or in your uniform. Modesty is expected. 
    • Wednesday, October 12: Dress-Up Theme for Grades 9-12 is Class Colors. This is also your kickball uniform. Please wear your class color.
      • Seniors: Pink
      • Juniors: Blue
      • Sophomores: Green
      • Freshman: Orange
      • Faculty: Red
    • Wednesday all students in grades 6-12 will meet in the commons after 5th hour for the kickball tournament. Due to the rain we will be playing in the McGremlin gym. Concessions will be provided so bring some cash. You will not have 6th and 7th hour.
    • Thursday, October 13: Dress-Up Theme for Grades 9-12 is Greatest Carnival Act. We have Mass in the morning. Please do not wear hats, wigs, face paint, or anything over the top to Mass. You may change into your theme dress-up after Mass. Thank you for showing reverence in the chapel. 
    • Friday, October 14: Dress-Up Theme for Grades 9-12 is Red and White Day. This is the tie Breaker for Spirit Stick and Fall Homecoming Queen.
    • Friday, October 14 is also a Spirit Dress Day for Grades PK-8. The Pep Rally will be 7th hour in the McGremlin Gym.

 

Sports Action:

Volleyball (24-6, 7-1) (JV 4-9-1, 3-4) Sacred Heart High School Volleyball traveled to Northwest last night with both JV and varsity teams victorious.  The JV won 25-10 and 25-20.  The Varsity won in 5 sets 25-20, 21-25, 25-18, 15-25, and 15-11.  The girl’s next action is Thursday night vs Cole Camp. This will be our last regular season home game and we will celebrate our five seniors on the team.  Action begins at 5:00 pm with C team, JV, senior recognition, and then Varsity.

 

Soccer (12-6, 3-0)  The Sacred Heart boys soccer team’s next action comes on Thursday when the Grems host Cole Camp at Clover Dell Park. The Gremlins will celebrate senior night at halftime of the game.

 

HS Cross Country  The Cross Country team runs today in the Kaysinger Conference meet in Stover.

 

JH Soccer (3-6-2, 0-0)

The Gremlin JH Soccer team’s next action comes on Thursday when the Grems host Cole Camp at Clover Dell Park.

 

JH Volleyball (13-4, 6-2) (“B” 4-5)  The JH girls also traveled to Northwest last night. The team played 2 sets. The A team played the first set and won by a score of 25-10. The B team played the second set and won 25-12. Their next game is this Thursday at home vs Cole Camp. Game time is at 5:00pm in the Hoying Gym.
