Happy Friday Sacred Heart!
Thanks so much to everyone who came out to support the Devon Grose Memorial Soccer game on Tuesday. It was great to see some of our alumni parents, coaches and players from an outstanding team and I’m glad they got to see a fantastic performance from our current Gremlins in a 3-2 win over a very skilled Smithton Tiger team!
We have another BIG SHS event right around the corner. The 12th Annual Sacred Heart Golf Classic is coming up on Monday September 26 at the Sedalia Country Club. This event is not only a FUNDraiser, it is also a great FRIENDraiser. There are still three or four openings for 3 person golf teams but what I want to tell you about today is the Family Fun portion of the event.
Beginning at 4pm that afternoon ALL SHS families are invited to the Country Club to participate in the ‘Wear Red and Get Fed’ phase of this big event. There will be kids fun and games beginning at 4pm with food being served starting at 5pm. It is all FREE!
At the conclusion of the golf tournament those present can take part in the presentation of the prizes to the winners. It promises to be a great day of fun for everyone. Please make plans to join us!

First Responder Mass
Please join us as we celebrate the Mass in thanksgiving to our first responders on Saturday morning, 9am, Sacred Heart Chapel. We are grateful for the work they do in our community and responding to the call when help is needed. This is a wonderful opportunity to pray for them and their continued safety.
Catechetical Weekend/September 17 & 18
Parents are truly the primary catechists of their children. They prepare the soil and plant the first seeds of faith. On Catechetical Sunday, we not only highlight the work of catechists in parishes and schools, but we also commend parents and guardians and encourage them to take seriously their role of making their Catholic households a place where faith is passed on to the next generation. This is why the rite of blessing of catechists used on Catechetical Sunday includes an optional blessing of parents and guardians.
Get to Know You Youth Event
There will be an event presented by the Youth Ministry Team on Sunday, September 18th from 3-5pm in the Sacred Heart School commons. The event is a “Get to know you event” for the youth to meet fellow youth in the parish as we begin a new school year. The event is open to all youth currently in 6th-12th grade.

Students in grades 6-12 will receive the HIGH SCHOOL yearbook which is delivered in the fall.

Students in grades PK-5 and Little Grems will receive the ELEMENTARY yearbook which is delivered in the spring.
Appearance code fines will resume on Monday September 19th for skirt and shorts length. We hope the grace period has given everyone enough time to shop for uniforms to meet the appearance code. Please make sure that skirts and shorts are no more than 5″ above the knee to avoid fines and detentions.
The first Mid-Quarter grade check is Friday September 23rd. This grade check will determine eligibility for all fall athletes. After school tutoring will take effect for those students that are ineligible. First Quarter ends October 20th.

Hall of Fame Nominations – Due – Friday, September 30
Sacred Heart School is seeking nominations of outstanding groups and individuals to be inducted into its 2023 Sacred Heart School Hall of Fame. Anyone is eligible to submit nominations to the SHS Hall of Fame. Nomination forms must be completed and returned by Sept. 30, 2022. RaiseRight Raise Days ENDS TONIGHT
If you missed out on the Back to School Bonus Rebate Sale, you are in luck!! The RaiseRight Raise Days (formerly known as ThankScriping Days) is available until 11 pm cst TONIGHT. This bonus rebate sale is only available through the RaiseRight app for electronic and reloadable gift cards. If you haven’t already set up your online account, it’s not too late! Our next in house bulk order for physical gift cards is Tuesday, September 27th. All orders submitted to the school office by the end of school, or through the RaiseRight app by 8pm, on the 27th will be included in the order. Orders should be ready for pick-up the following week. In the next few weeks we will be implementing some small procedural changes to the RaiseRight program. Keep an eye out for additional information in the Beat as we finalize the details.
Don’t forget we have several retailers ONLY available through the office (i.e. Casey’s, Cenex, Shell, Colton’s, Kehde’s, McD, Menards, Taco Bell, Walgreens, and VISA to name a few). ¡Feliz viernes Sagrado Corazón!
Muchas gracias a todos los que vinieron a apoyar el juego de fútbol Devon Grose Memorial el martes. ¡Fue genial ver a algunos de nuestros ex alumnos, padres, entrenadores y jugadores de un equipo sobresaliente y me alegro de que hayan podido ver una actuación fantástica de nuestros Gremlins actuales en una victoria por 3-2 sobre un equipo Smithton Tiger muy hábil!
Tenemos otro GRAN evento SHS a la vuelta de la esquina. El 12º Clásico Anual de Golf del Sagrado Corazón se llevará a cabo el lunes 26 de septiembre en el Sedalia Country Club. Este evento no es solo para recaudar FONDOS, sino también para recaudar AMIGOS. Todavía hay tres o cuatro vacantes para equipos de golf de 3 personas, pero lo que quiero contarles hoy es la parte de diversión familiar del evento.
Esa tarde a partir de las 4:00 pm, TODAS las familias de la escuela del Sagrado Corazón están invitadas al Country Club para participar en la fase ‘Vístete de rojo y aliméntate’ de este gran evento. Habrá diversión y juegos para niños a partir de las 4:00 pm.y se servirá comida a partir de las 5:00 pm ¡Todo es GRATIS!

Únase a nosotros mientras celebramos la Misa de acción de gracias a nuestros socorristas el sábado por la mañana, a las 9:00 am, en la Capilla del Sagrado Corazón. Estamos agradecidos por el trabajo que hacen en nuestra comunidad y por responder a la llamada cuando se necesita ayuda. Esta es una oportunidad maravillosa para orar por ellos y por su seguridad continua.
Fin de semana de catequesis/ 17 y 18 de septiembre
Los padres son verdaderamente los primeros catequistas de sus hijos. Preparan la tierra y plantan las primeras semillas de la fe. En el Domingo de Catequesis, no solo destacamos el trabajo de los catequistas en las parroquias y escuelas, sino que también elogiamos a los padres y tutores y los alentamos a tomar en serio su papel de hacer de sus hogares católicos un lugar donde la fe se transmita a la próxima generación. Es por eso que el rito de bendición de los catequistas que se usa el Domingo de Catequesis incluye una bendición opcional de los padres y tutores.
Evento juvenil para conocerse
Habrá un evento presentado por el Equipo del Ministerio Juvenil el domingo 18 de septiembre de 3:00 a 5:00 pm en los espacios comunes de la Escuela del Sagrado Corazón. El evento es un “Evento para conocerse” para que los jóvenes conozcan a otros jóvenes en la parroquia al comenzar un nuevo año escolar. El evento está abierto a todos los jóvenes actualmente en los grados 6 a 12.
