Greetings Everyone,
Please allow me to begin today by apologizing once again for the glitch we experienced in the FACTS Student Information System over the weekend. Thank you for deleting any information that may have come into your email inbox that did not pertain to you and your family. Thank you as well for your patience and understanding. We will be working this week to get the matter corrected and get the accurate information out to you so that we can get the enrollment meetings for 2022-2023 up and running!
I hope everyone had a good winter break these past 5 days. Let’s hope we are through with the snow days for this year. Mrs. Martin is announcing the schedule for making up the days we have missed so far in her section below.
On to much more pleasant news!!! It is my great pleasure to announce in today’s Beat the SHS Hall of Fame Class for 2022. The induction banquet is scheduled for Saturday, April 23rd here at the school. This years inductees are:
Tim and Sally (Fechtel ‘69) Alley – Sally is a 1969 graduate of SHHS. Tim served as a member of the Sacred Heart Foundation for more than 20 years. Their son Dodd ‘00 was educated from kindergarten through the 12th grade at SHS. Dodd was a member of the cast of the ‘98 musical Godspell – the directors, cast and crew of Godspell ‘98 were enshrined in the SHS Hall of Fame in 2019.
Throughout the time that Sally was here, and then Dodd, and in all the years since the Alley’s have held Sacred Heart near and dear to their hearts and remain supportive of our efforts to this day.
The second inductees are Mr. and Mrs. Frances and Ruth Mergen. The Mergens provided all 8 of their children a Sacred Heart School Catholic education. One of the many highlights for the Mergen family is that they hosted the school’s first foreign exchange student. Mr. Hector Cruz from Costa Rica attended Sacred Heart High School in 1966. Tha families remain in contact to this day.
Mr. Mergen passed away in 2004. Ruth (Meyers ‘46) Mergen was in the SHHS class of 1946 and is still an active parishioner and regular mass attendee at the age of 93.
Tony and Teressa Simon – Mr. and Mrs. Simon also provided their large Catholic family of 6 children a strong Sacred Heart education. They have had grandchildren graduate from the school as well.
The Simon’s have been active and passionate leaders in the Pettis County Catholic Community and have passed that passion onto their children and grandchildren. Among the many lifetime highlights for the Simons, they and their children were recognized as the Pettis County Farm Family of the year in 1979.
After Tony’s death in 2005, Terry and the family, understanding Tony’s passion for Catholic education,
established the Tony Simon Memorial Scholarship fund for tuition assistance. Through their examples of faith, leadership, teamwork and service, they helped set the course for their own children’s success in life as well as many more who have benefitted from the scholarship implemented in Tony’s honor!
The Sacred Heart Alumni committee is proud to honor Tony and Teressa Simon.
Coach David Fall (Class of ‘78) and the 2007 & 2008 Missouri Class 1 State Volleyball Championship teams. Coach Fall and these girls amassed a two year record of 62-8-8 on the way to back to back state championships.
Coach Fall and his teams represented Sacred Heart School in the proudest way, providing many happy memories for all of us that were here to watch and appreciate them. The back to back Final Four appearances that both culminated in state titles were unforgettable experiences for our school.

The last, but most certainly not least, inductee in the Class of 2022 is Sacred Heart School’s very own Mrs. Teresa (Twenter ‘74) Bain. When you talk about a quiet, faithful, loyal, hardworking, unassuming servant leader, you are talking about Mrs. Teresa Bain.
Teresa and her 9 siblings all hold a diploma from SHHS. She and her husband George (a wonderful man in his own right) raised and educated their two children here at Sacred Heart being active and involved Catholic School parents. She has had one grandchild graduate from the high school and has 4 more currently attending our school.
Mrs. Bain has worked as a teacher’s aide in the elementary school for many, many years now improving the lives of countless SHS students. As an alumnus, a parent and an employee she epitomizes the Gremlin spirit!
Please keep these inductees in your prayers as the weeks go by leading up to the ceremony. We pray for their health and well-being and we pray in gratitude for all they have contributed to the success of our school!

Ham & Bean Dinner for Vocations
The Vocations Committee is so thankful to the many St. Vincent de Paul parishioners who came together for the successful fundraiser for Vocations. Your donations of Theme Baskets, baked goods, country store items and the sharing of your time of working at the event is greatly appreciated!
With the wonderful selection of Theme Baskets (27), Pie Silent Auction and great attendance of 209 for the dinner, we netted $3948.25 to be used for future vocation efforts.
We are even more appreciative of the priests, Sr. Mary Ruth, deacons and their spouses for their Vocation to our parish. We are so blessed for Chris Hoffman, a parishioner of SVdP, who is currently in formation for the priesthood as well as the men who are in Diaconate formation. Please continue to pray for Chris and others in formation for the priesthood and religious life.

Schedule for Making up Snow Day
Mother nature has not been kind to us lately, and we are currently under the required amount of instructional hours and have 3 days that need to be made up. After careful consideration we have determined that the following dates will be used as make up dates:
-Tuesday, March 15
-Monday, April 4
-Thursday, April 14
With the forecast for later this week looking uncertain, administration is currently investigating ways we can avoid missed instructional time. More information will be provided as needed.
Save the Date!!! – – – Sacred Heart School Night at Fazoli’s
On Tuesday, March 8th we will be celebrating a Sacred Heart School Night at Fazoli’s in Sedalia. Fazoli’s is trying to get a foothold in the Sedalia market and they have asked us to partner with them in the effort.
On Tuesday, March 8th, 20% of all profits will be donated to Sacred Heart School. We will dedicate the proceeds to our cafeteria / kitchen school roof project. It’s a Win-Win! Please place this date on your calendar and plan to give mom the night off from cooking dinner!

District Basketball Tournaments Underway the Week
The Lady Gremlins advanced in conference tournament play after defeating Kingsville over the weekend with a final score of 63-26! They will play the Otterville Lady Eagles on Tuesday, February 22nd @ 7:00PM at the Northwest High School Gym.
The Varsity boys basketball team kicked off conference play on Monday, February 21st defeating the Green Ridge Tigers with a final score of 68-35. The Gremlins will play Smithton @ Smithton in the semi final game tomorrow night @ 7:30PM.

Saludos a todos,
Permítanme comenzar hoy disculpándome una vez más por la falla que experimentamos en el Sistema de Información Estudiantil FACTS durante el fin de semana. Gracias por eliminar cualquier información que pueda haber llegado a su bandeja de entrada de correo electrónico que no le pertenece a usted ni a su familia. Gracias también por su paciencia y comprensión. ¡Estaremos trabajando esta semana para corregir el problema y enviarle la información precisa para que podamos poner en marcha las reuniones de inscripción para 2022-2023!
Espero que todos hayan tenido unas buenas vacaciones de invierno estos últimos 5 días. Esperemos que hayamos terminado con los días de nieve para este año. La Sra. Martin está anunciando el cronograma para recuperar los días que hemos perdido hasta ahora en su sección a continuación.
Paso a noticias más agradables! Es para mí un gran placer anunciar en el Beat de hoy los miembros del paseo de la fama de la Escuela del Sagrado Corazón del 2022.. El banquete de inducción está programado para el sábado 23 de abril aquí en la escuela. Los miembros de este año son:
Tim y Sally (Fechtel ‘69) Alley – Sally se graduó en 1969 de la escuela preparatoria del Sagrado Corazón. Tim sirvió como miembro de la Fundación del Sagrado Corazón durante más de 20 años. Los Simon han sido líderes activos y apasionados en la comunidad católica del condado de Pettis y han transmitido esa pasión a sus hijos y nietos. Después de la muerte de Tony en 2005, Terry y la familia, comprendiendo la pasión de Tony por la educación católica, estableció el fondo de becas en memoria de Tony Simon para asistencia con la colegiatura. ¡A través de sus ejemplos de fe, liderazgo, trabajo en equipo y servicio, ayudaron a establecer el rumbo para el éxito en la vida de sus propios hijos y muchos más que se han beneficiado de la beca implementada en honor de Tony!

El entrenador David Fall (Clase del ’78) y los equipos del Campeonato Estatal de Voleibol Clase 1 de Missouri 2007 y 2008. El entrenador Fall y estas chicas acumularon un récord de dos años de 62-8-8 en el camino hacia los campeonatos estatales consecutivos.
El entrenador Fall y sus equipos representaron a la Escuela del Sagrado Corazón de la manera más orgullosa, brindando muchos recuerdos felices para todos los que estuvimos aquí para verlos y apreciarlos. Las apariciones consecutivas en la Final Four que culminaron en títulos estatales fueron experiencias inolvidables para nuestra escuela.

La última, pero ciertamente no menos importante, miembro de la Clase de 2022 es la propia Sra. Teresa (Twenter ’74) Bain de la Escuela del Sagrado Corazón. Cuando habla de una líder servidora tranquila, fiel, leal, trabajadora y sin pretensiones, está hablando de la Sra. Teresa Bain.
Teresa y sus 9 hermanos tienen un diploma de la escuela preparatoria del Sagrado Corazón. Ella y su esposo George (un hombre maravilloso por derecho propio) criaron y educaron a sus dos hijos aquí en el Sagrado Corazón siendo padres activos e involucrados de la Escuela Católica. Ha tenido un nieto que se graduó de la escuela preparatoria y actualmente tiene 4 más que asisten a nuestra escuela.
La Sra. Bain ha trabajado como asistente de maestra en la escuela primaria durante muchos, muchos años, mejorando las vidas de innumerables estudiantes de la Escuela del Sagrado Corazón. Como exalumna, madre y empleada, ¡ella personifica el espíritu Gremlin!
Por favor, mantenga a estos miembros en sus oraciones a medida que pasan las semanas previas a la ceremonia. ¡Oramos por su salud y bienestar y oramos en agradecimiento por todo lo que han contribuido al éxito de nuestra escuela!

Cena de Jamón y Frijoles por las Vocaciones
El Comité de Vocaciones está muy agradecido con los muchos feligreses de St. Vincent de Paul que se unieron para la exitosa recaudación de fondos para las Vocaciones. ¡Apreciamos mucho sus donaciones de canastas temáticas, productos horneados, artículos de la tienda country y compartir su tiempo de trabajo en el evento!
Con la maravillosa selección de Canastas Temáticas (27), la Subasta Silenciosa de Pasteles y la gran asistencia de 209 personas a la cena, recaudamos $3,391 que se usarán para futuros esfuerzos vocacionales.
Estamos aún más agradecidos con los sacerdotes, la Hna. Mary Ruth, los diáconos y sus cónyuges por su vocación a nuestra parroquia. Estamos muy bendecidos por Chris Hoffman, un feligrés de SVdP, que actualmente está en formación para el sacerdocio, así como los hombres que están en formación diaconal. Continúe orando por Chris y otros en formación para el sacerdocio y la vida religiosa.

Horario para recuperar los días de nieve
La madre naturaleza no ha sido amable con nosotros últimamente, y actualmente estamos por debajo de la cantidad requerida de horas de instrucción y tenemos 3 días que deben recuperarse. Después de una cuidadosa consideración, hemos determinado que las siguientes fechas se utilizarán como fechas de recuperación:
-martes 15 de marzo
-lunes 4 de abril
-jueves 14 de abril
Dado que el pronóstico para finales de esta semana parece incierto, la administración está investigando formas en las que podemos evitar la pérdida de tiempo de instrucción. Se proporcionará más información según sea necesario.

El martes 8 de marzo celebraremos una Noche Escolar del Sagrado Corazón en Fazoli’s en Sedalia. Fazoli está tratando de afianzarse en el mercado de Sedalia y nos han pedido que nos asociemos con ellos en el esfuerzo.
El martes 8 de marzo, el 20% de todas las ganancias serán donadas a la Escuela Sagrado Corazón. Dedicaremos las ganancias al proyecto del techo de nuestra cafetería/cocina escolar. ¡Así ganamos todos! ¡Apunte esta fecha en su calendario y planee darle a mamá la noche libre para cocinar la cena!

Torneos distritales de baloncesto en marcha la semana
¡Las Lady Gremlins avanzaron en el juego del torneo de la conferencia después de derrotar a Kingsville durante el fin de semana con una puntuación final de 63-26! Ellos jugarán contra Otterville Lady Eagles el martes 22 de febrero a las 7:00 pm en el gimnasio de la escuela preparatoria Northwest.
