Greetings All,
I hope everyone had a terrific Memorial Day Weekend and that your summer is off to a great start! It was so wonderful to have parents in the building on Friday. It was a very nice end-of-year celebration.
We will definitely be here if you need us this summer. Office hours for June and July will be Monday through Friday from 8am until noon. Let us know if you need anything!
We are saying goodbye to 3 very special retirees this year. Mrs. Mary Kehl is retiring after 44 years of service to Sacred Heart School. She has been a wonderful art teacher and a great and caring role model for the children that have gone through her classroom.
Mrs. Marcia Turner is retiring for the second time. After retiring in 2014 she realized she just wasn’t finished yet and has been back for the past 5 years giving our high school students outstanding preparation for English education at the college level. She is a grammar icon and will be sorely missed!
Finally, Mrs. Nancy Edwards came to SHS 11 years ago after a stellar career teaching instrumental music in the public school system. Upon arrival here she built Sacred Heart a band program. She succeeded in this endeavor under circumstances that many teachers would not have been able to be successful in! Eleven years worth of Sacred HEart band students received a high-quality experience because of the dedication and talent of Mrs. Nancy Edwards.
We are very grateful to all three of these ladies for their many years of dedicated service to the children and families of Sacred Heart School!
For the months of June and July you can expect a Beat every other Tuesday. That means you will be getting a steady flow of pertinent information on June 15th and 29th along with July 13th and 27th. When August rolls around we will resume a more steady publication schedule. More information to come later in the summer.

Corpus Christi Procession
For those who received First Communion last weekend and any from 2020, we have a special invitation for you: on Sunday, June 6, we invite you and your family to Saint Patrick at 12:45pm and walk with us from Saint Patrick to Sacred Heart in a Eucharistic Procession on Corpus Christi Sunday dressed in your First Communion outfits. The priests and deacons holding Jesus, then those who made First Communion in their beautiful clothes and then everyone else follows you. We’ll sing at St Patrick, and sing and pray while we walk and then sing and pray at Sacred Heart. Everyone here and in our parish is invited; we want our families with First Communion to be well represented, but know you are invited to this amazing experience. We need you to show us your faith so we can continue to grow in ours. Help us by coming to the Corpus Christi Procession on June 6th. 12:45 at St. Patrick.

Visit with the Pastor
Fr Dave and Fr Joe want to thank those of you who have visited with us. The meetings have been fruitful and a great chance to get to know you a little and for us to share a bit of the philosophy we have for the Catholic school. So far, we are pleased to say we have visited with 70 families.
We have approximately 140 more family visits to schedule. We appreciate our 6 volunteers who have helped us in reaching out to our families to schedule their visits. Please note, we only need one parent and none of the children for these parent priest visits. Thanks for signing up, even if you schedule the visit for sometime this summer.

Friend of Jesus Elementary Awards
The Friend of Jesus award is a prestigious award given to one boy and one girl in each class who exemplifies the Christian spirit daily. The recipient is one who:

SCRIPing for Summer Fun
The 2020-2021 school year has come to a close, and summer has begun. The summer months are a great time to continue building on the rebates you’ve earned through the school year. Whether you are taking day trips or longer vacations, keep Scrip in mind to find ways to continue earning rebates. Check out the Gas & Auto and Travel categories in the RaiseRight app to find participating brands you can use to earn rebates while you vacation.
Also, remember physical gift cards will still be available in the school office and after Masses throughout the summer. Using gift cards for Casey’s, Cenex, or Shell to fill up your vehicles are a great way to continue earning rebates. Check the Beat to find out what hours the office will be open during the summer.

SAVE THE DATE – Devon Grose Alumni Soccer Game 2021
The Devon Grose Memorial Alumni Soccer Game continues to be a major event for Sacred Heart School and our Alumni. Honoring the memory of Sacred Heart Alumni, Devon Grose (SHS ‘15), this annual alumni game raises funds for one tuition assistance scholarship and another college scholarship in Devon’s name. The 2019 Alumni Soccer game raised approximately $1,900 to support the scholarships in Devon’s name. This year’s game will return to Cloverdell on Friday, July 30th.
This game attracts many familiar SH Soccer faces, including Hall of Fame Coach, Richard Bahner, Jody Chmelir, George Bain IV, Kevin Grose, and Chris Martin. Saludos a Todos,
Espero que todos hayan tenido un excelente fin de semana del Memorial Day y ¡que su verano haya tenido un gran comienzo!. Fue maravilloso tener a los padres de familia el día viernes en el edificio. Fue una bonita celebración de fin de año.
Definitivamente estaremos aquí si nos necesita este verano. El horario de atención para junio y julio será de lunes a viernes de 8:00 am al mediodía. ¡Déjenos saber si necesita algo!
Este año, nos despedimos de 3 jubilados muy especiales. La Sra. Mary Kehl se jubila después de 44 años de servicio en la Escuela del Sagrado Corazón. Ha sido una maravillosa maestra de arte y un gran modelo a seguir para los niños que han pasado por su salón de clases.
La Sra. Marcia Turnes se jubila por segunda ocasión. Después de jubilarse en 2014, se dió cuenta que aún no había terminado y regresó durante los últimos 5 años para brindar a nuestros estudiantes de high school una preparación sobresaliente para la educación en inglés a nivel universitario. ¡Es un ícono de la gramática y la extrañaremos mucho!
Finalmente, la Sra. Nancy Edwards, llegó a SHS hace 11 años después de una carrera estelar enseñando música instrumental en el sistema de escuela pública. Al llegar aquí, construyó el programa de banda en el Sagrado Corazón. ¡Tuvo éxito en este esfuerzo en circunstancias en las que muchos maestros no habrían podido tener éxito!. Valieron la pena once años en que los estudiantes de la banda del Sagrado Corazón recibieron una experiencia de alta calidad debido al talento y dedicación de la Sra. Nancy Edwards.
¡Estamos muy agradecidos con estas tres damas por sus muchos años de servicio dedicado a los niños y familias de la Escuela del Sagrado Corazón!
Para los meses de junio y julio puede esperar un Beat cada dos semanas los días martes. Eso significa que recibirá un flujo constante de información el 15 y 29 de junio así como el 13 y 27 de julio. Procesión de Corpus Christi
Para aquellos que recibieron la Primera Comunión este año y durante el 2020, tenemos una invitación especial para ustedes: el domingo 6 de junio el día de Corpus Christi, lo invitamos a usted y a su familia a San Patricio a las 12:45 pm en una Procesión Eucarística, a caminar con nosotros desde San Patricio hasta el Sagrado Corazón vestidos en sus trajes de Primera Comunión. El sacerdote y los diáconos sostienen a Jesús, luego los que hicieron la Primera Comunión en sus hermosas ropas y al final todos los demás. Cantaremos en San Patricio y cantaremos y oraremos mientras caminamos y posteriormente cuando lleguemos al Sagrado Corazón. Todos aquí y en nuestra parroquia están invitados; queremos que nuestras familias de Primera Comunión estén bien representadas y que sepa que está invitado a esta increíble celebración. Necesitamos que nos muestre su fe para que podamos seguir creciendo en la nuestra. Ayúdenos viniendo a la Procesión de Corpus Christi el 6 de junio a las 12:45 pm en San Patricio.

El Padre Dave y el Padre Joe queremos agradecer a todos los que nos han visitado. Las reuniones han sido fructíferas y son una gran oportunidad para conocernos un poco más y compartir un poco de la filosofía que tenemos para la escuela católica. Hasta ahora, nos complace decir que nos han visitado 70 familias.

El año escolar 2020-2021 ha llegado a su fin y el verano ha comenzado. Los meses de verano son un buen momento para continuar aprovechando los reembolsos que ha ganado durante el año escolar. El Juego de Fútbol Soccer en Memoria de Devon Grose sigue siendo un evento importante para la Escuela del Sagrado Corazón y nuestros Ex-Alumnos. En honor a la memoria del ex-alumno del Sagrado Corazón, Devon Grose (SHS ‘15), este juego anual para ex-alumnos recauda fondos para una beca de asistencia para la colegiatura y otra beca universitaria a nombre de Devon. El juego de ex-alumnos de fútbol soccer 2019 recaudó aproximadamente $1,900 para financiar las becas en nombre de Devon. El juego de este año regresará a Cloverdell el viernes 30 de julio.
