Continuation of COVID Protocols May 11, 2021

May 11, 2021

Dear Sacred Heart Families,

We are happy to report that we are moving in a positive direction. Over the past three months, we have had very few COVID-related absences and all Sacred Heart staff that wished to be vaccinated have received both doses.

As you may be aware, tomorrow the Pettis County Health Department will be lifting the county-wide mask mandate.  The Diocese of Jefferson City has asked that schools keep their safety protocols in place through the end of the school year. Schools in our Diocese, outside of Pettis County, have followed similar safety protocols to ours all year without a county health order.

In an effort to keep our faculty and students safe and present at school, we will continue to enforce all COVID protocols throughout the remainder of the school year.

This includes:

  • Wearing a mask when indoors and not able to social distance.

  • Limited visitors in the building during the school day.

  • Restricted use of facilities to outside visitors.

  • Use of water filling stations.

Our current protocols have kept the overall number of positive cases relatively low and allowed Sacred Heart to remain in session the entire year, with very few extensive quarantines.  We do not want to do anything that could disrupt the final days of the school year

We are very hopeful that by next fall we will be able to come back to school in a way that is closer to normal. You can count on communication from us throughout the summer. Our hope is that we can return to school, Mass, and all our other activities with as few modifications as possible while following CDC guidelines. Again, we will monitor the situation over the summer.

Student and staff safety has always been our number one priority and that standard will continue followed by faith formation and academics.

This decision was made by Bishop McKnight’s decree for the Diocese of Jefferson City and in consultation with the pastors and school administration team.

Again, we thank you for your support. Help us finish the year strong, giving thanks for being in seat for the full year and giving thanks for the health of our community.

Blessings,

Mrs. Martin

Bendiciones,

Sra. Martin
