Good afternoon everyone and Happy Friday!
I hope the first day of everyone’s four-day weekend spring break has gone well. Third quarter wraps up next Friday, and as we all know, the fourth quarter will fly by!
Since there is no school on Monday we will only be sending our one SH Beat next week and that will come out on Friday, March 19. I am sure there will be a lot of information to share in that edition so please be looking for it.
One of the highlights of next week’s calendar comes on Wednesday the 17th. Not only is Wednesday St. Paddy’s Day, it is also the day we will commemorate the one year anniversary of moving to Virtual Learning due to the onset of the pandemic. In remembrance of the lives lost and all the sacrifices and hardships we have endured together over the past year we will have an All School Mass at 2 p.m. in the main gym. Dr. Vader, our Diocesan School Superintendent, will be on hand to commemorate with us. You will be able to join us via HUDL Livestream if you wish.
To accommodate for this event, we are moving the paid dress down day (proceeds going to support the efforts of the Active Parents Club) from Wednesday of next week to Thursday, March 18. Paid dress down day next week is on Thursday!

Parish Reconciliation will be this Sunday, March 14 from 4-6pm at St Patrick Chapel. Many priests will be here for these two hours, so come anytime. There will not be a prayer service at 4pm. Priests will be seated in their places and the penitent goes to the priest when he/she is ready. Jesus’ mercy and forgiveness is ready to be given.
Discipleship armor for Seventh Grade Wednesday March 17 after the 12:30pm Stations of the Cross. All of these Discipleship armor prayer services and gifts of armor help the students grow in their relationship with Jesus Chirst. The Seventh Grade students will be able to spend time with Jesus as they meditate on His word in their very own Bible. It is our hope that the seventh grade students and their parents will spend a few minutes a day or week reading The Word of God in Sacred Scripture. Parents of Seventh Graders are welcome to join their child for Stations of the Cross starting at 12:30pm and then the Armor prayer service immediately following at Sacred Heart Chapel.
Pro-Life Yard Signs Available
Pro life yard signs are available for distribution to the public and the school parents on first-come, first-serve basis. There are signs in the school office and in the parish business office. These signs are sturdy 18” x 24” with metal ground rods already attached. Signs taking up space in the offices does no one any good, so please get these signs out and into yards this spring, so that those passing by can be reminded of the importance of defending life in all its stages.

Senior Celebrations
Kaytlin Kempf
Kaytlin will be attending State Fair Community College this fall. She is trying to decide between pursuing pediatric nursing or a degree in physical therapy. She has always been intrigued by her grandmother’s stories of being a nurse, but also has an interest in physical therapy from her experience with her own injuries. She feels prepared for college academics having learned time management and responsibility when it comes studying and work ethic. What Kaytlin is most excited about is being able to create her own schedule for classes. She does not enjoy waking up early!

We are currently enrolling for our 2021-22 Preschool Program. We offer morning and afternoon programs for both Pre-K 3 (Tuesdays & Thursdays) and Pre-K 4 (Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays), following the same calendar as our K-12 students. COVID Protocol Updates
Under the direction of the Diocese of Jefferson City, as well as the Pettis County Health Department, we will continue to follow our current COVID protocols. Most specifically our mask and social distancing policies will remain the same for the remainder of the school year.
While we currently have 0 students and staff out for a COVID related absence, we want to be able to finish the year strong, and in person. By abiding by our mask policies we alleviate the risk for having to quarantine those who are close contacts. Thanks to our current practices that are working, we are looking at the feasibility at bringing back activities that could be deemed low risk, as long as our mask and social distance policies are followed. This addition includes: allowing classes to take education field trips, as long as they are to a low-risk location (outdoors or private events).

Kaysinger Conference Math Results

Spring Recital Series #1 presented by Sacred Heart Music Department
On February 26th the Sacred Heart music department hosted a piano and voice recital in the McGremlin gym. The recital began with a piano duet by Gwendolyn Kappelman and Darrin Hartman. Students Thomas Jenkins, Sophie Anderson, Zach Anderson, Sophia Sauser, Elsie May, and Abram May presented pieces on the piano and Dallin Chappel performed “What I Did For Love” from the musical A Chorus Line. Both Adelynn Hunsaker and Thomas Jenkins performed pieces from the upcoming Sacred Heart musical You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown. Also featured was soprano Sydney Guthrie who performed Vissi d’arte from from the Puccini opera Tosca.
SAVE the DATE – Spring Recital Series #2 – Friday, March 26th
Plans are underway for the 2nd recital which will take place on March 26th at 2:00 in the McGremlin gym. Featured on this recital will be piano performances by Cooper Hladick, RJ Hladick, Thomas Jenkins, and Sophie Anderson as well as vocal selections by Mariah VanLeer, Kyler Downing, and a sextet from Mrs. Heggers 4th grade class singing a traditional Irish tune Molly Malone featuring, Aspen Carl, Samuel Diller, Kale McCollester, Johnhenry Cordia, Frannie Morris, and Audrey Bawcom. Also featured will be Barbara Schrader who will play some violin works by composer of the month Antonio Vivaldi.

¡Buenas tardes a todos y feliz viernes!
Espero que el primer día de las vacaciones de primavera de los cuatro días del fin de semana vaya muy bien. El tercer trimestre concluye el próximo viernes y como todos sabemos, ¡el cuarto trimestre pasará volando!
Como no hay clases el lunes, sólo enviaremos un SH Beat la próxima semana y será el viernes 19. Estoy seguro que habrá mucha información para compartir en esa edición así que no se la pierda.
Uno de los aspectos más destacados del calendario de la próxima semana es el miércoles 17. No sólo es el día de San Patricio, también es el día en que conmemoramos el primer aniversario de la transición al aprendizaje virtual debido al inicio de la pandemia. En recuerdo de las vidas perdidas y todos los sacrificios y dificultades que hemos soportado juntos durante el año pasado, tendremos una Misa de Toda la Escuela a las 2:00 pm en el gimnasio principal. Dr. Vader, nuestra Superintendente Escolar Diocesano estará con nosotros para conmemorar. Si lo desea, puede acompañarnos en la transmisión en vivo a través de HUDL.
Para dar lugar a este evento, estamos cambiando el día de vestimenta informal (las ganancias se destinarán al Club de Padres Activos) del miércoles de la próxima semana al jueves 18 de marzo. ¡El día de vestimenta informal de la próxima semana es el jueves!

Los letreros de jardín Pro life están disponibles para su distribución al público y a los padres de la escuela por orden de llegada. Hay letreros en la oficina de la escuela y en la oficina de negocios parroquial. Estos letreros son resistentes de 18” x 24” con varillas metálicas unidas para la tierra. Los letreros que ocupan espacio en las oficinas no benefician a nadie así que por favor, saque estos letreros y coloquelos en su patio esta primavera para que los que pasen puedan recordar la importancia de defender la vida en todas sus etapas.

Kaytlin Kempf
Kaytlin asistirá a State Fair Community College este otoño. Está tratando de decidir entre estudiar enfermería pediátrica u obtener un título en fisioterapia. Siempre ha estado intrigada por las historias de su abuela siendo enfermera pero también tiene interés en fisioterapia por su experiencia con sus propias lesiones. Se siente preparada para la universidad después de haber aprendido a administrar el tiempo y a ser responsable en lo que respecta al estudio y ética laboral. Lo que más entusiasma a Kaytlin es poder crear su propio horario de clases. ¡No le gusta levantarse temprano!

Gracias a nuestras prácticas actuales que están funcionando, buscamos la viabilidad de recuperar actividades que podrían considerarse de bajo riesgo, siempre y cuando se sigan nuestras políticas de cubreboca y distanciamiento social. Esta incorporación incluye: permitir que los grupos hagan viajes educativos siempre y cuando sean en un lugar de bajo riesgo (al aire libre o eventos privados).

El equipo de matemáticas de high school de SHS compitió en el Concurso de Matemáticas de la Conferencia Kaysenger esta semana y se llevó el trofeo del 3er lugar. Los resultados individuales y de equipo se incluyen a continuación.

El 26 de febrero el departamento de música del Sagrado Corazón organizó un recital de voz y piano en el Gimnasio McGremlin. El recital comenzó con un dueto de piano por Gwendolyn Kappelman y Darrin Hartman.
