Greetings All and Happy Thanksgiving!
Due to this being Thanksgiving Week and our unexpected extended break, this will be the only Beat we send out this week.
We apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused you by extending the Thanksgiving Break on such short notice. Truly, we were hit with the news of a spike in cases on Sunday. It became obvious that taking a few days to regroup, deep clean and try to get things a little better under control was the most prudent course of action. We are grateful to our pastors and the School Advisory Council for helping us with that guidance and recommendation.

Please be aware of good health practices as you enjoy your family and friends over this Thanksgiving weekend. Sacred Heart School has every expectation of being in session on Monday, November 30th, but this pandemic is real and we need to pull together to protect ourselves and one another.
Remind the kids of the THREE W’s: Wear your mask – – – Wash your hands – – – Watch your distance – – – It works!
If you find yourself in a situation where your child’s ability to return to school changes (they become symptomatic and are being tested, receive positive test results, or are quarantined due to close contact), please notify Mrs. Martin (amartin@gogremlins.com). This allows us to accurately update information, so we can closely monitor the numbers and continue to make decisions in the best interest of our students and staff.

Thursday, we celebrate our National Thanksgiving Holiday; we celebrate Thanksgiving every time we come to Mass! The word Eucharist is derived from the Greek word, eucharistia meaning thanksgiving. This term originated in the first or second century AD as early Christians participated in Christ’s last supper with
Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving Day Mass at 9am at Sacred Heart Chapel; all are invited. Wear your mask the whole time.

your guests to enjoy each other’s company and visit with one another.
Sacred Heart Awarded $137,102 Diocesan Technology Grant – Bridge the Gap
Sacred Heart School is thrilled to be awarded $137,102 in support of technology through a grant from the Diocese of Jefferson City. This remarkable gift was made possible through Diocesan support from Bishop McKnight and Jake Seifert, Director of Development, through an anonymous donor. Funding will fulfill specific technology needs outlined in the grant application that was submitted to the Diocese by Mrs. Marlo Siron, SHS Director of Technology. God is good!
The grant request identified numerous forward-looking areas to keep SHS functional and competitive. This includes installing every classroom with Interactive Smart Panels. The grant will also fund iMacs for the yearbook class, laptops for teachers to make virtual learning easier, additional security cameras, new wireless routers, and mobile projectors. Ordering and installation is already underway.
Mrs. Siron has been SHS’s go-to champion for nearly a decade. She has been instrumental keeping SHS competitive and on pace with the ever-changing technology landscape. Her forward-thinking and adoption of technology, oftentimes years before the true value was understood, was certainly realized when SHS was able to successfully transition to distance learning in March 2020.
“Updates to technology are constantly in demand, so it was not difficult for me to start dreaming big,” said Siron. “I did not expect to get the full amount we requested for the grant, but I was certainly optimistic.” The Bridge the Gap Technology Grant has put Sacred Heart School technology in line with our local schools and let’s be honest, our teachers deserve this wonderful gift to make their daily instruction easier. This technology will be transformational for our day to day teaching.”
Sacred Heart School is thrilled and so thankful to Mrs. Siron, our Bishop, Shawn McKnight, the Jefferson City Diocese Office Staff, and to everyone who cares for us and for our schools, even in the midst of this pandemic. Please keep all the wonderful people in your prayers.
Fall Sports Post Season Honors
High School Volleyball
Four Varsity players have been awarded some prestigious and well-deserved awards to end the 2020-2021 Volleyball season. Sacred Heart Varsity went 20-8-1 for the season and 9-0 in Conference play. The Lady Gremlin’s season ended with a loss to eventual Elite Eight Qualifier Santa Fe in the Class 1 District 13 Championship game.
The individual awards this season tell a story of a balanced and equal Sacred Heart Varsity Volleyball team with a bright future ahead of them.

The Kaysinger Soccer Gremlins placed six players on the Kaysinger All-Conference team from their undefeated 2020 conference season. The Gremlins won the Kaysinger Conference Tournament and the regular-season crown without conceding a single goal. The Gremlins completed their season with a 13-5 record and a second-place finish in Class 3.

The team ended the season with a 5-2 overall record and a 2-1 mark in the Central River League. The boys ended the season with a 60-40 loss to Jasper in the semifinal round of the district tournament.

¡Saludos a todos y Feliz Día de Acción de Gracias!
Debido a que esta es la Semana de Acción de Gracias y a nuestro inesperado descanso extendido, este será el único Beat que enviaremos esta semana.
Nos disculpamos por cualquier inconveniente que podamos haberle causado al extender las Vacaciones de Acción de Gracias en tan poco tiempo. En verdad, nos llegó la noticia de un aumento en los casos el domingo. Se hizo obvio que tomarse unos días para reagruparse, limpiar profundamente y tratar de poner las cosas un poco mejor bajo control era el curso de acción más prudente. Agradecemos a nuestros pastores y al Consejo Asesor Escolar por ayudarnos con esa guía y recomendación.

El jueves celebramos nuestro Día de Fiesta Nacional de Acción de Gracias; ¡Celebramos Acción de Gracias cada vez que asistimos a Misa! La palabra Eucaristía se deriva de la palabra Griega, eucharistia que significa acción de gracias. Este término se originó en el siglo I o II después de Cristo cuando los primeros cristianos participaron en la última cena de Cristo con Acción de Gracias.

El Sagrado Corazón recibió una Subvención de Tecnología Diocesana de $137,102 – Bridge the Gap
La Escuela del Sagrado Corazón está encantada de recibir $137,102 en apoyo de la tecnología a través de una subvención de la Diócesis de Jefferson City. Este extraordinario regalo fue posible gracias al apoyo Diocesano del Obispo McKnight y Jake Seifert, Director de Desarrollo, a través de un donante anónimo. Esta tecnología será transformadora para nuestra enseñanza diaria”.

Voleibol de High School
Cuatro jugadoras de Varsity han sido galardonadas con algunos premios prestigiosos y bien merecidos para finalizar la temporada de Voleibol 2020-2021. El Sagrado Corazón Categoría Varsity tuvo un registro de la temporada 20-8-1 y 9-0 en el juego de la Conferencia. La temporada de Chicas Gremlin terminó con una derrota ante el eventual Elite Eight Qualifier Santa Fe en el juego de Campeonato Clase 1 Distrito 13.
Los premios individuales de esta temporada cuentan la historia de un equipo de Voleibol Categoría Varsity de Sagrado Corazón balanceado con un futuro brillante y prometedor.

Fútbol Soccer High School
Los Gremlins de Fútbol Soccer Kaysinger colocaron a seis jugadores en el equipo Kaysenger All-Conference de su invicta temporada de conferencias 2020. Los Gremlins ganaron el Torneo de la Conferencia Kaysenger y la corona de la temporada regular sin conceder un solo gol. Los Gremlins completaron su temporada con un récord 13-5 y un segundo lugar en la Clase 3.
