Announcements:

  • There will be a meeting during junior high lunch today for any Junior High girls that might be interested in playing basketball this season.
  • The Gremlin Student Cafe is now open after school. Hot Pockets are on sale for $1.50 this week! Come say hi to Maria and Mariana
  • Please don’t forget to complete and return your Annual Fund Drive Packets to your first-hour teacher by Nov. 17. Our Annual Fund Drive is our school’s largest fundraiser. We depend on our Annual Fund Drive to award tuition scholarships to 90% of our students at SHS, so we ALL win with a successful Annual Fund Drive.  Packets returned by Nov. 17 will get a coupon for a free treat.  The secondary and elementary class with the most participation will win a free lunch from DQ or McDonald’s delivered to the school! The freshmen are off to a strong start. All of the students in Ms. McMullin’s first-hour history class have completed and returned their packets. The seniors aren’t too far behind! Please contact Mrs. Van Leer if you need any names and addresses, or would like to complete more to help out your class totals. 
  • The Thanksgiving Food Drive ends today. 
    • All students: Little Grems, PK, Kinders – 8th Grade if you have any canned or paper goods please bring them to the Commons as soon as possible. STUCO will be taking these items to Open Door after Mass.
    • Students in grades 9-12 listen to the announcements this afternoon to hear you won! Thank you for all of your generosity and school spirit!

 

Sports Action:

High School Girls Basketball: VAR (0-0, 0-0)  The varsity girls open the season on the road at Wellington-Napoleon High School this Friday night.  The first game of the evening tips off at 6pm.

 

Junior High Girls Basketball: A Team (0-0, 0-0) B Team (0-0, 0-0)  The Junior High Girls open the season at home on Thursday, December 10th vs the Russelville Indians.  The first game of the evening tips off at 5pm.

 

High School Boys Basketball: VAR (0-0, 0-0) JV (0-0, 0-0) The varsity and JV boys open the season on the road at Wellington-Napoleon High School this Friday night.  The first game of the evening tips off at 6pm.

 

Junior High Boys Basketball: A Team (0-0, 0-0) B Team (0-0, 0-0) The Junior High Girls open the season at home on Thursday, December 10th vs the Russelville Indians.  The first game of the evening tips off at 5pm.

 

High School Girls Swim: (0-0, 0-0) The varsity girls open the season on the road at Columbia Hickman High School on Tuesday, December 8th.  The meet includes Smith-Cotton High School, Hickman High School, and Columbia Independent starting at 4pm.

Thank you for all the ways you bless us, those we are aware of and all those we are still oblivious to.  The Scriptures show us that from the beginning you have desired friendship with humanity.  

Help us to know and believe that just as you yearned for friendship with Adam & Eve; Abraham, Moses, and Noah; Ruth & Esther, You Mother Mary and St. Elizabeth of Hungary; you desire a powerful friendship with us.

Give us the wisdom to make prayer a priority in our lives so that we can build a relationship and foster a true and beautiful friendship with You.   AMEN
