Good Afternoon All!
We have a lot to celebrate during this short week here at SHS. First of all please don’t forget that there is NO SCHOOL on Thursday or Friday this week. On Thursday we will be holding Parent-Teacher Conferences. If you have not already signed up please do so. The information is contained below.
Extra special congratulations go out again to our Gremlin Lady Golfers for bringing home the MSHSAA Class 1 State Golf title last week. The girls shot a two day total of 810 outdistancing 2nd place, Brookfield, by 100 strokes in cold and windy conditions at Paradise Point Golf Club in Smithville, MO!
Senior Caten Lucchesi powered through the tournament, consistently keeping the ball in the fairway and onto the green. She finished the tournament with a score of 176, placing her in 2nd place for the tournament. Sr. Kelsey Hudson’s score of 103/109 gave her a two-day total of 212. Sr. Megan Wingerter carded a 109/104 for a total of 213, Soph. Kate Carney brought in a 105/110 total of 215, and Sr. Addy Trammell scored a 115/104 totaling 219 rounding out the Gremlin scoring for the two days.

Also this week, Sacred Heart is thrilled to be hosting MSHSAA Class 1 District 13 Volleyball Tournament. Last night Sweet Springs, Northwest, Concordia, and La Monte squared off. Tonight 1st seeded Santa Fe will play Sweet Springs at 5:30 pm, while our Lady Grems will match up with the Concordia Orioles at 6:45. The winners play for the title at 6 pm on Thursday right here in the SHS McGremlin Gym.
Please come out and support our Lady Gremlins this week! If you can not make it, a LIVE Broadcast of Class 1 District 13 games hosted at Sacred Heart will be broadcast on KMMO Radio of Marshall. The matches will be aired on KMMO 1300 AM and on www.kmmo.com. The web page at www.kmmo.com.
The varsity football season is set to resume this Friday night in the first round of the district tournament in Hughesville. The combined Mustang/Gremlin team will take on the Jasper Eagles in a 7 pm kickoff.
We have a couple of boys who are having great seasons so far. Junior #72 Donavan Dobson is currently ranked 20th in the nation for kickoffs and touchbacks. Donavan is currently #2 in the state of Missouri for kickoffs and touchbacks. Donavan has 1,740 total yards for kickoff with 14 touchbacks.
Sophomore #44 Caden Crooker is currently ranked 5th in the Nation for total tackles. Caden is currently the leading tackler in the state of Missouri. Caden has 121 tackles on the season and is averaging 20.2 tackles a game. It should be a great game in Hughesville on Friday night!
The Junior High fall seasons are coming to a close. Last weekend the volleyball girls concluded their season at the Conference Tournament in Green Ridge. The girls went 0-2 over the weekend with tough 3 set losses to Windsor and Cole Camp. They finished their season at 6-9-1 overall and 5-3-1 in conference play. We are proud of the girls hard work and improvement over the course of the year!
The JH Soccer team plays in the conference tournament in Smithton this week to conclude their season. Weather is currently playing havoc with the schedule. As of now, the top-seeded Gremlins are set to take on the winner of the Cole Camp-LaMonte game at 5pm on Thursday night. The finals are set for Friday in Smithton. The third-place game kicks off at 5 pm with the Championship match slated for 6:30.
The JH Football Season was also a success. The Mustang/Gremlin coop garnered 4 wins with only 1 setback. We have been quite pleased with the partnership with Northwest schools allowing our students to play football. The future looks very good for the football program.

Parent-Teacher Conferences
In order to provide the safest and most effective conference experience to discuss your child’s progress, we have made some adjustments to the Parent-Teacher Conference night.

We will be canceling conferences and the early dismissal previously scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, and moving all conferences to Thursday, October 29.

There will be NO SCHOOL on Thursday, October 29!

The school will be open from 8 am to 8 pm on Thursday, October 29 for pre-scheduled
conferences. -
Each teacher will have a personal link that you will use to sign up for a 15-minute conference.

If you have a fourth or fifth-grade student, we request that you sign up for a conference with your child’s homeroom teacher.

If you would like to meet with one of the other teachers, you may sign up for a time, but please be mindful that you may lose that time if it is needed for a homeroom student. If your student is in junior high or high school and has multiple teachers, you may select whichever teachers you would like to meet with and they will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

In order to provide a safe meeting for our parents and teachers the following procedures will be in place:

Conferences will be limited to two parents (no students may attend).

There will be a minimum of 6 feet between the teachers and parents.

Masks will be required to be worn at all times.

In order to allow time to sanitize, it is very important that you arrive for your assigned time and complete your conference within 15 minutes.

Message From the Pastors
As we continue our new program this year of introducing our rich Catholic heritage to our students (grades 1-12) to develop their spiritual life, we celebrate our Third-grade students, who last Wednesday were able to participate in a special prayer service in Church in which they were invested with blessed Scapulars. A scapular comes to us primarily from the Carmelite tradition, and Our Lady of Mt Carmel, and in imitation of the monks, began to wear at least two small pieces of brown cloth (imitating the full-size scapular that is part of a Camelite’s habit.) on the inside of their shirt as a daily reminder to live in accordance with the teachings of Jesus, through the intercession of His Mother Mary.
We are so pleased to welcome back the Mette Family in the MJM7 family band who will be with us on the evening of Thursday, November 12, at 7 pm in McGremlin Gym.
Their concert creates a bridge from the ordinary to the extraordinary, building on the richness of the Catholic faith. The Mette’s gifts of music, joy, & family life offer the boldness and innocence of youth with the wisdom and depth of lived experiences. The events fall somewhere between a rock concert and a parish mission, with vibrant lights, powerful music, faith sharing, and an invitation to prayer. The music is uplifting without being preachy, creating an environment that is engaging without being confrontational. There are no tickets for this concert, but there is an opportunity to make a free-will donation for their ministry.
The next day, they will be with us in SHS for a special concert for the students, and then facilitating the 8th-grade regional retreat!
If you missed them last year, you won’t want to miss them this year. I can’t tell you how impressed I am with this family’s faith and musical abilities, as for just 3 years now I’ve watched them grow! For more information go to MJM7.band !
MJM7, a concert for families to enjoy praise and worship returns Thursday, November 12 at 7 pm at McGremlin Gym. This will be their second appearance with us as they were here last year for a fall concert and were very well received by our community. This is a free-will offering concert. All bleachers in the gym will be down so there will be plenty of room for social distancing. Plan to come and give your family this time to reflect on God’s graces and listen to amazing music by Matte Mette and his four daughters. See and listen to more on their website: https://mjm7.band. Please welcome Scott, Kaylee, and Gracyn Grass. Gracyn has joined Mrs. McDonald’s 5th-grade class as well as the 5th-grade basketball team. Gracyn also enjoys gymnastics and is very social. Scott is the Vice President at RCL Wiring and Kaylee is a Nurse.
Please welcome, Andy, Jessica, and Paxton Pyle. Paxton has joined our 7th-grade class. Paxton is an avid wrestler and also plays on many traveling teams. Jessica as many of you know works as our finance director here at Sacred Heart and her husband Andy is in shipping with MFA in Sedalia, Mo.
Gremlin Student Store Open for Parent-Teacher Conferences
Your Gremlin Student Store is here to help you out! Come check out all of the uniform pants, shirts, and Gremlin Gear. We have various sizes of pants for students in all grades. All items are $5 each or you can buy four and get one free. That means for only $20 you can have a pair of pants for every day of the week!
We also have new Gremlin Gear thanks to the Booster Club and SHS alumna, Ashley Smith ‘04.
The Gremlin Student Store is open after school, during parent-teacher conferences, and by appointment. Contact the Office, Mrs. Howell or Mrs. Starke to schedule your appointment today!

Blood Drive a Success!
Thank you to everyone who came out to support the blood drive on Wednesday, October 21. Our goal was 55 units. We registered 67 donors and 11 Alyx donors. There were only four deferrals and the Total Units Collected reached 74!
What a blood drive! Way to go, Grems!
NHS Adopt-A-Highway
Sacred Heart NHS completed its first adopt a highway for this year.They cleaned from Broadway to McVey on October 17th at 8:30 am. The students collected 15 trash bags. #GoGremlins #

Sacred Heart School is in need of a part-time custodian. The hours are approximately 10:30 am to 1:30 pm Monday thru Friday. If you are interested in this position or know someone who might be please have them contact the office for an application.

¡Buenas Tardes a Todos!
Tenemos mucho que celebrar durante esta semana corta aquí en SHS. En primer lugar, no olvide que no hay clases el jueves y viernes de esta semana. El jueves se llevarán a cabo las Conferencias de Padres y Maestros. Si aún no se ha registrado favor de hacerlo. La información se encuentra a continuación.
Nuevamente felicitaciones muy especiales a nuestras Jóvenes Golfistas Gremlin por traer la semana pasada a casa el Título de Golf Estatal de MSHSAA Clase 1. ¡Las jóvenes lanzaron dos días un total de 810 superando al 2do lugar Brookfield por 100 tiros en condiciones de frío y viento en el Club de Golf Paradise Point en Smithville, MO!
Caten Lucchesi del grado Senior avanzó con fuerza durante el torneo, manteniendo constantemente la bola en el camino y dentro del campo. Terminó el torneo con una puntuación de 176, colocándola en el segundo lugar del torneo. Kelsey Hudson del Grado Senior con una puntuación de 103/109 dió un total en dos días de 212. Megan Wingerter del Grado Senior obtuvo 109/104 para un total de 213. Kate Carney del Grado Sophomore hizo 105/110 un total de 215 y Addy Trammel del Grado Senior anotó 115/104 totalizando 219 redondeando la puntuación de los Gremlin para los dos días.

También esta semana, el Sagrado Corazón se complace en ser el anfitrión del Torneo de Voleibol MSHSAA Clase 1 Distrito 13. Anoche se enfrentaron Sweet Springs, Northwest, Concordia y La Monte. Esta noche el primer lugar Santa Fe jugará contra Sweet Springs a las 5:30pm mientras nuestras Jóvenes Grems se enfrentarán a Concordia Orioles a las 6:45 pm. Los ganadores jugarán por el título el jueves a las 6:00 pm aquí en el Gimnasio McGremlin de SHS.

La temporada de otoño de Junior High está llegando a su fin. El fin de semana pasado las jóvenes de voleibol concluyeron su temporada en el Torneo de la Conferencia en Green Ridge. Durante el fin de semana, las jóvenes se fueron 0-2 con duras derrotas en 3 sets ante Windsor y Cole Camp. Terminaron su temporada con 6-9-1 en general y 5-3-1 en juegos de conferencia. ¡Estamos muy orgullosos del trabajo arduo y de la mejora de las jóvenes a los largo del año!
Esta semana, el equipo de Fútbol Soccer de JH juega en el Torneo de Conferencia en Smithton para concluir su temporada. El clima está causando estragos en el calendario. Por ahora, el campeón de la serie Gremlins se enfrentará al ganador del juego Cole Camp-La Monte el jueves por la noche a las 5:00 pm. La final está programada para el viernes en Smithton. El juego por el tercer lugar comienza a las 5:00 pm con el partido por el Campeonato programado para las 6:30.
La temporada de Fútbol Americano también fue un éxito. La cooperativa Mustang/Gremlin obtuvo 4 victorias con un solo revés. Estamos muy contentos de la asociación con las escuelas de Northwest que permitieron a nuestros estudiantes jugar Fútbol Americano. El futuro parece muy bueno para el programa de Fútbol Americano.

Conferencias de Padres y Maestros
Con el fin de brindar la experiencia de una conferencia más segura y efectiva para discutir el progreso de su hijo, hemos realizado algunos ajustes a la noche de Conferencia de Padres y Maestros

Cancelaremos las conferencias y la salida temprano previamente programada para el miércoles, 28 de octubre y cambiamos todas las conferencias al jueves 29 de octubre.

El jueves 29 de octubre la escuela estará abierta de 8:00 am a 8:00 pm para las conferencias
pre-programadas.-
Cada maestro tendrá un enlace personal que usará para registrarse en una conferencia de 15 minutos.

Si tiene un estudiante de cuarto o quinto grado, le pedimos que se registre para una conferencia con la maestra base (homeroom teacher) de su hijo.

Si desea reunirse con uno de los otros maestros, puede registrarse para una cita pero tenga en cuenta que puede perderla si ese tiempo es necesario para un estudiante de su salón. Si su estudiante está en junior high o high school y tiene múltiples maestros, puede seleccionar los maestros con los que le gustaría reunirse y estarán disponibles por orden de llegada.

Mensaje de los Pastores
Mientras este año continuamos con nuestro programa nuevo de presentar nuestra rica herencia Católica a nuestros estudiantes (grados 1 al 12) para desarrollar su vida espiritual, celebramos a nuestros estudiantes de tercer grado quienes el pasado miércoles pudieron participar en un servicio de oración especial en la Iglesia en el cual fueron investidos con Escapularios bendecidos.
Un escapulario nos llega principalmente de la tradición Carmelita y nuestra Señora del Monte Carmelo, quien imitando a los monjes, comenzó a usar al menos dos piezas de tela marrón (imitando el escapulario de tamaño completo que es parte del hábito Carmelita) en el interior de su camisa como un recordatorio diario de vivir de acuerdo con las enseñanzas de Jesús a través de la intercesión de Su Madre María.
Estamos muy contentos de nuevamente dar la bienvenida a la Familia Mette en la banda familiar MJM7, quienes estarán con nosotros la noche del jueves 12 de noviembre a las 7:00 pm en el Gimnasio McGremlin.
Su concierto crea un puente de lo ordinario a lo extraordinario, basándose en la riqueza de la fe Católica. Los dones de música, alegría y vida familiar de Mette ofrecen la audacia e inocencia de la juventud con la sabiduría y profundidad de las experiencias vividas. Los eventos se ubican entre un concierto de rock y una misión parroquial con luces vibrantes, música poderosa, intercambio de fe y una invitación a la oración. La música es edificante sin ser un sermón, creando un ambiente atractivo sin ser conflictivo. No hay boletos para este concierto pero existe la oportunidad de hacer una donación para su ministerio.
¡Al día siguiente, estará con nosotros en SHS para un concierto especial para los estudiantes y luego facilitarán el retiro regional de octavo grado!

MJM7, regresa el jueves 12 de noviembre a las 7:00pm en el Gimnasio McGremlin, un concierto para que las familias disfruten de la alabanza y de la adoración. Esta será su segunda aparición con nosotros ya que estuvieron aquí el año pasado para un concierto de otoño y fueron muy bien recibidos por nuestra comunidad. Es un concierto libre. Damos la bienvenida a Scott, Kaylee y Gracyn Grass. Gracyn se unió al grupo de 5to año de la Sra. McDonald así como al equipo de baloncesto de 5to grado. Gracyn también disfruta de gimnasia y es muy sociable. Scott es el Vicepresidente de RCL Wiring y Haylee es Enfermera.
Damos la bienvenida a Andy, Jessica y Paxton Pyle. Paxton se unió al grupo de 7mo grado. Paxton es un luchador ávido y también juega en muchos equipos itinerantes. Jessica, como muchos de ustedes saben trabaja como nuestra Directora de Finanzas aquí en el Sagrado Corazón y su esposo Andy está trabajando con MFA aquí en Sedalia, MO.

¡La Campaña de Donación de Sangre fue un Éxito!
Gracias a todos los que el miércoles 21 de octubre vinieron a apoyar la campaña de donación de sangre. Nuestra meta era de 55 unidades. Registramos 67 donantes y 11 donantes Alyx. ¡Sólo hubo cuatro aplazamientos y el Total de Unidades Recolectadas alcanzó 74!

NHS Adopta-Una-Carretera (Adopt-A-Highway)
Sacred Heart NHS completó su primera adopción de una carretera para este año. El 17 de octubre a las 8:30 am los estudiantes estuvieron limpiando de Broadway a McVey recogiendo un total de 15 bolsas de basura. #GoGremlins #

La Escuela del Sagrado Corazón necesita un conserje de medio tiempo. Las horas son aproximadamente de 10:30 a 1:30 pm de lunes a viernes. Si está interesado en esta posición o conoce a alguien que podría estarlo, pídales que se comuniquen a la oficina para obtener una solicitud.
