Happy Friday!
It is hard to believe that we are in the second quarter of the school year. Please take the time to talk to your student’s teacher(s) about their progress during the first quarter, and how they can be more successful during the second quarter (and the remainder of the year).
We are committed to providing a safe meeting space for in-person conferences to take place, however, if you would prefer to meet virtually via zoom, please note that on your sign-up.
A reminder there is no school Thursday (10/29) and Friday (10/30). Conferences will be held from 8 am to 8 pm on Thursday, October 29. Click HERE to access the sign-ups of the teacher(s) you would like to visit with. Please view the Parent-Teacher information down below for additional details.
Even with the shortened week, we are able to offer Mass for all of our students who regularly attend. Eighth graders will be joining the high school students and faculty, attending on Tuesday, October 27. Students in third through seventh grades will attend Mass on Wednesday, October 28.
Next week, our Little Grems and elementary students will celebrate Halloween on Wednesday, October 28 with their Halloween parties. Due to current COVID policies, we have had to make some adjustments to previous traditions, but we plan on our students having a safe and fun time. In lieu of previous traditions, elementary students are allowed to dress in Halloween spirit wear (Halloween shirts, or any orange/black shirt, with jeans or uniform bottoms) or wear their school uniform. Students will also be able to go Trick or Treating throughout the school. No worries, we will be taking extra precautions to ensure that all items are handed out in a safe manner.

Morning Drop Off Reminder
A friendly reminder that doors open for all students at 7:30 am. There is no supervision provided prior to 7:30 am, aside from those students who are enrolled in Before School Care or students who have scheduled arrangements with teachers. If you have an elementary student who must be dropped off earlier, arrangements must be made to enroll them in Before School Care. As we approach colder weather, we do not want our students to have to wait in the cold, so please do not drop them off until the doors are unlocked. Additionally, students who arrive after 7:50am must enter through the main entrance.
Message From the Pastors
We are so pleased to welcome back the Mette Family in the MJM7 family band who will be with us on the evening of Thursday, November 12, at 7 pm in McGremlin Gym.
Their concert creates a bridge from the ordinary to the extraordinary, building on the richness of the Catholic faith. The Mette’s gifts of music, joy, & family life offer the boldness and innocence of youth with the wisdom and depth of lived experiences. The events fall somewhere between a rock concert and a parish mission, with vibrant lights, powerful music, faith sharing, and an invitation to prayer. The music is uplifting without being preachy, creating an environment that is engaging without being confrontational. There are no tickets for this concert, but there is an opportunity to make a free-will donation for their ministry.
The next day, they will be with us in SHS for a special concert for the students, and then facilitating the 8th-grade regional retreat!
If you missed them last year, you won’t want to miss them this year. I can’t tell you how impressed I am with this family’s faith and musical abilities, as for just 3 years now I’ve watched them grow! For more information go to MJM7.band !
MJM7, a concert for families to enjoy praise and worship returns Thursday, November 12 at 7pm at McGremlin Gym. This will be their second appearance with us as they were here last year for a fall concert and were very well received by our community. This is a free will offering concert. All bleachers in the gym will be down so there will be plenty of room for social distancing. Plan to come and give your family this time to reflect on God’s graces and listen to amazing music by Matte Mette and his four daughters. See and listen to more at their website: https://mjm7.band. November Lunch Menu & Reminder FREE Lunches

The USDA has extended their waivers for free meals for all children ages 1-18. This went into effect on October 1, 2020, and currently plans to run through December 18, 2020. Free meals will only be provided on days school is in session. Students currently enrolled in Sacred Heart (including daycare) will not be billed for lunches during this time period. All lunch money will remain on your student’s account and will be used once this program expires. Extra items that are served outside of the main meal will be charged to your student’s account.
HELP WANTED
Sacred Heart School is in need of a part-time custodian. The hours are approximately 10:30 am to 1:30 pm Monday thru Friday. If you are interested in this position or know someone who might be please have them contact the office for an application.
Enrollment for 2021-2022 is Ongoing
The enrollment process for 2021-2022 has begun. The FACTS Application window for 2021-2022 school year will open on Sunday, November 1. Here are a few reminders:

All families will be able to use the 2019 tax returns to complete the application.

The $35 grant/aid application fee is waived for the 2021-2022 school year.
-
All families meeting the early bird incentive of January 13, 2020, will receive a $25 discount on their enrollment processing fee.
-
Processing fees at the time of enrollment will change to $150 per family. These are non-refundable fees and will NOT be applied to tuition.
-
To be eligible for named scholarships the FACTS Aid and Award application must be submitted by January 13, 2021.
-
The cost to educate a student will remain the same for 2021-2022.
-
Every family that completes the FACTS Aid & Award application will receive some level of assistance based on their individual situation.

If you do not wish to request tuition assistance, please notify Jessica Pyle, Finance Director, at jpyle@gogremlins.com of your intent to enroll.
Please remember that the primary purpose for enrollment early in 2021 is to allow us to be the best possible stewards of the resources we have to effectively educate our students!
We plan to have a good handle on enrollment numbers prior to offering teacher contracts for the 2021-2022 school year (this occurs in March each year). Since salaries and benefits have, by far, the greatest impact on our budget we hope to make sure that our staffing accurately and efficiently meets the needs of our students and families.
This timeline should also help us be proactive when we see that we have teacher needs to fill, allowing us to recruit and attain the best teaching talent possible for our students. We also hope that this helps each of you as you plan for your household budgets moving forward.

Parent-Teacher Conferences
In order to provide the safest and most effective conference experience to discuss your child’s progress, we have made some adjustments to the Parent-Teacher Conference night.

We will be canceling conferences and the early dismissal previously scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, and moving all conferences to Thursday, October 29.

There will be NO SCHOOL on Thursday, October 29!

The school will be open from 8 am to 8 pm on Thursday, October 29 for pre-scheduled
conferences. -
Each teacher will have a personal link that you will use to sign up for a 15-minute conference.

If you have a fourth or fifth-grade student, we request that you sign up for a conference with your child’s homeroom teacher.
-
If you would like to meet with one of the other teachers, you may sign up for a time, but please be mindful that you may lose that time if it is needed for a homeroom student. If your student is in junior high or high school and has multiple teachers, you may select whichever teachers you would like to meet with and they will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Sports Action – Class 1 District 13 Volleyball hosted @ Sacred Heart next week
Sacred Heart is thrilled to be hosting Volleyball Districts next week. Monday night (10/26) we will host Sweet Springs, Northwest, Concordia and La Monte. Games will start at 5:30 pm, Sante Fe will join us Tuesday to complete our district. On Tuesday (10/27) come out and support your Lady Gremlins who play at 6:45 pm. The district championship game will be Thursday, October 29th at 6:00 pm!
LIVE Broadcast of Class 1 District 13 games hosted at Sacred Heart will be broadcast on KMMO Radio of Marshall. The matches will be aired on KMMO 1300 AM and on www.kmmo.com. The web page at www.kmmo.com.
Sports Action – JH Volleyball & Soccer Conference Tournament
Good luck to our Junior High Volleyball and Soccer teams as they start conference tournament play. Volleyball starts tonight, Friday, October 23, in Green Ridge beginning at 8 PM and soccer starts Tuesday, October 27, in Smithton at 5 PM. Good luck GREMLINS!

The cold weather season is defined as November 1st until March 1st.

Pants are to be worn. Shorts are not permitted. Girls are allowed to wear uniform skirts and rompers.

Scriping Bonus Fest – Two Weekends Left

Es difícil creer que estamos en el segundo trimestre del año escolar. Favor de tomarse el tiempo de platicar con el(los) maestro(s) de su estudiante acerca de su progreso durante el primer trimestre y como puede ser más exitoso durante el segundo trimestre (y el resto del año).

Los estudiantes también podrán realizar un recorrido “Trick or Treat” por toda la escuela. Recordatorio de Dejada por la mañana
Como recordatorio amistoso las puertas se abren para todos los estudiantes a las 7:30 am. No se proporciona supervisión antes de las 7:30 am, a menos que los estudiantes estén inscritos en el Cuidado Antes de la Escuela o que los estudiantes tengan acuerdos programados con los maestros. Si tiene un estudiante de primaria que debe de dejar más temprano, se deben hacer los arreglos para inscribirlo en el Cuidado Antes de la Escuela. A medida que nos acercamos a un clima más frío, no queremos que nuestros estudiantes tengan que esperar en el frío, así que por favor no los deje hasta que las puertas estén abiertas. Además los estudiantes que lleguen después de las 7:50 am deben ingresar por la entrada principal.

Estamos muy contentos de dar la bienvenida nuevamente a la Familia Mette en la banda familiar MJM7 quienes estarán con nosotros la noche del jueves 12 de noviembre a las 7:00 pm en el Gimnasio McGremlin.
Su concierto crea un puente de lo ordinario a lo extraordinario, basándose en la riqueza de la fe Católica. Los dones de música, alegría y vida familiar de Mette ofrecen la audacia e inocencia de la juventud con la sabiduría y profundidad de las experiencias vividas. Los eventos se ubican en algún lugar entre un concierto de rock y una misión parroquial con luces vibrantes, música poderosa, intercambio de fe y una invitación a la oración. La música es edificante sin ser un sermón, creando un ambiente atractivo sin ser conflictivo. No hay boletos para este concierto pero existe la oportunidad de hacer una donación para su ministerio.

El Departamento de Agricultura de los Estados Unidos (USDA por sus siglas en inglés) ha extendido sus exenciones de comidas gratis para todos los niños en edad de 1 a 18 años. Lo anterior entró en vigencia a partir del 1 de octubre de 2020 y actualmente planea extenderse hasta el 18 de diciembre de 2020. Las comidas gratuitas sólo se proporcionarán los días en que la escuela esté en sesión. A los estudiantes inscritos actualmente en el Sagrado Corazón (incluyendo guardería) no se les cobrarán los almuerzos durante
este período de tiempo. Todo el dinero del almuerzo permanecerá en la cuenta de su estudiante y se utilizará una vez que este programa expire. Los productos adicionales que se sirvan fuera de la comida principal se cargarán a la cuenta de su estudiante.
SE SOLICITA AYUDA
La Escuela del Sagrado Corazón necesita un conserje de medio tiempo. Las horas son aproximadamente de 10:30 a 1:30 pm de lunes a viernes. Si está interesado en esta posición o conoce a alguien que podría estarlo, pídales que se comuniquen a la oficina para obtener una solicitud.
La Inscripción para el 2021-2022 está en Curso
Ya inició el proceso de inscripción para el 2021-2022. La aplicación de FACTS para el año escolar 2021-2022 se abrirá el domingo 1 de noviembre. A continuación algunos recordatorios.

Todas las familias podrán usar las declaraciones de impuestos del 2019 para completar la aplicación.

La tarifa de solicitud de subvención/ayuda de $35 no se aplica para el año escolar 2021-2022.

Conferencia de Padres y Maestros
Con el fin de brindar la experiencia de una conferencia más segura y efectiva para discutir el progreso de su hijo, hemos realizado algunos ajustes a la noche de Conferencia de Padres y Maestros

Cancelaremos las conferencias y la salida temprano previamente programada para el miércoles, 28 de octubre y cambiamos todas las conferencias al jueves 29 de octubre.

¡NO HABRÁ CLASES el jueves 29 de octubre!

El jueves 29 de octubre la escuela estará abierta de 8:00 am a 8:00 pm para las conferencias pre-programadas.
-
Cada maestro tendrá un enlace personal que usará para registrarse en una conferencia de 15 minutos.

Si tiene un estudiante de cuarto o quinto grado, le pedimos que se registre para una conferencia con la maestra base (homeroom teacher) de su hijo.
-
Si desea reunirse con uno de los otros maestros, puede registrarse para una cita pero tenga en cuenta que puede perderla si ese tiempo es necesario para un estudiante de su salón. Si su estudiante está en junior high o high school y tiene múltiples maestros, puede seleccionar los maestros con los que le gustaría reunirse y estarán disponibles por orden de llegada.

Acción Deportiva – Voleibol de Clase 1 Distrito 13 organizado en Sagrado Corazón la próxima semana
El Sagrado Corazón se complace en ser el anfitrión de Voleibol de Distrito la próxima semana. El lunes por la noche (26/10) recibiremos a Sweet Springs, Northwest, Concordia y La Monte. Los juegos comenzarán a las 5:30 pm, el martes se unirá Santa Fe para completar nuestro distrito. Venga y apoye a sus Chicas Gremlins que juegan el martes (27/10) a las 6:45 pm. ¡El juego del campeonato de distrito será el jueves, 29 de octubre a las 6:00 pm!
La transmisión en VIVO de los juegos de Clase 1 Distrito 13 organizados en Sagrado Corazón se transmitirán en KMMO Radio de Marshall. Los partidos se transmitirán en KMMO 1300 AM y en la página web www.kmmo.com.

Café Estudiante Gremlin
Un enorme AGRADECIMIENTO a todos los estudiantes que han apoyado el Café del Estudiante Gremlin. Estamos abiertos todos los días después de la escuela para los grados 6 al 12. Los estudiantes de primaria tendrán la oportunidad de visitar el café de acuerdo a las instrucciones de sus maestros. Quedan dos fines de semana más para aprovechar el Festival de Bonos de octubre. ¡Revise su Aplicación RaiseRight este viernes 23 de octubre y viernes 30 de octubre para ver qué minoristas están en oferta! No olvide que cada venta es solo por 2 días. ¡¡Establezca un recordatorio para ver que ventas de bonificación puede aprovechar para aumentar sus ahorros!!
