Dear Parents and Parishioners:
The Missouri State Fair is not only an enjoyable time for family, fun, food, and fellowship, but it also provided a critical flow of funds for Sacred Heart School. For the past three years, friends and families of St. Vincent de Paul Parish and Sacred Heart School have generously volunteered to work the grandstand concessions stands. This important work-to-earn activity has generated anywhere from $12,000 to $17,000 in a given year toward the school’s operational budget.
We are extremely grateful for the many volunteers and to the grandstand patrons who made this revenue stream so successful. With the cancellation of events in the grandstand for the 2020 State Fair, we are seeking your help in a different way.
We know that we ask a great deal from you and, hopefully, offer your family a great deal in return. In addition to tuition and your parish tithe, we have very important events coming up in the form of the APC Discount Cards, the Foundation Annual Fund Drive, the SH Golf Tournament, and the Parish Auction. All of these are vital to the financial health of our school!
Would you please prayerfully consider the amount you would have spent as a family at the fair and increase your support in one of these important areas? This would, of course, be an extraordinary gift beyond your normal tuition, parish tithe or gift to the Foundation Annual Fund Drive. You will be receiving more information over the next few weeks on how to get involved and how to support these activities.
We ask you to consider this gift in a spirit similar to that of St. Paul when he exhorted the Hebrews in his New Testament letter:
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise — the fruit of lips that openly profess his name. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. Hebrews 13:15-16
It is a pleasure to serve your family and please know that everything you do, financial or in a spirit of volunteerism, helps keep our parish mission of Catholic education running smoothly.
If you’d like to help us in this effort just consider what you might normally do in those areas listed above and prayerfully think about anything more you can do to help us offset the loss of the Grandstand fundraiser at the Fair. Thank you in advance for considering this request. You are the best!
