Greetings Parents!
We are very much looking forward to the beginning of the year, even though there are some aspects that are not ideal. However, with patience, flexibility, and grace, we plan to deal with the inconveniences that allow us to be together as we begin the year. Please read further for information regarding next week’s Open Houses and First Day of School.
Open House-Tuesday, August 25 and Wednesday, August 26
In order to allow for social distancing and safe visits for our families and staff, we will ask everyone to select a time slot from the attached sign up.
During this scheduled time, parents and students can come in for a brief visit with their teacher and drop off necessary supplies.
Teachers will be sending out classroom information ahead of time in order to answer most of your questions so that we can keep the schedule moving on time.
Upon arrival, please enter and exit through the main circle drive entrance.
Students in grades 6-12 can view their schedules online and locker assignments will be posted in the building. Students are encouraged to put their things in their locker during their assigned time slot.
Any students needing to visit Mrs. Buckley will need to contact her to make an appointment.
While we are limiting the number of families in the building during each time, we ask that you be considerate of social distancing by not congregating in areas of the school, wearing a mask, and leaving by the end of your time slot.

First day of School Procedures
The building will be open from 6:30-7:30 for Before School Care (BSC) enrolled students. All BCS students need to enter through the cafeteria doors. BSC elementary students will remain in the cafeteria until students in grades 1-5 are dismissed to their classrooms.
Students in grades 6-12 will need to notify Mr. Jones if they will be arriving prior to 7:30.
All students arriving between 7:30- 7:50 am will go to their classrooms. Kindergarten students will remain in the cafeteria during this time.
Due to the current visitor policy, we are not able to have parents walk their children to the classroom, unfortunately, this includes the first day of school. Kindergarten parents can park and bring their child into the cafeteria (using the cafeteria doors).
Masks must be worn upon entering the building and until students are safely seated in their classroom (this direction will be given by the teacher if social distancing allows).
*Dismissal Reminder-Dismissal will take place beginning at 3:05 for the upcoming school year. We will not have an early out on the First Day of School.
Mask Policy
All K-12 students and all staff members are required to have a mask when social distancing is not possible.
Due to the short time frame and availability of masks, Sacred Heart has chosen not to adopt a strict uniform policy on masks styles for the upcoming school year. Masks can be of either style (ear loop or neck gaiter) as long as it covers the mouth and nose and meets normal dress down day requirements. We request that masks be simplistic in nature (have a simple logo or repeating pattern) in order to prevent unnecessary distractions.
All students should keep a clean, spare mask (in a baggie) in their backpack.
Masks’ designs should not be distracting to the educational environment. Please refrain from wearing masks that mimic faces, have profanity, sexually suggestive themes, rude or disrespectful themes, or the promotion of the use of alcohol, drugs, or tobacco.
Cloth masks should be cleaned thoroughly daily before being worn again. Cloth masks may be cleaned by including in regular laundry on the warmest appropriate water setting for that cloth. Masks may also be washed by hand by soaking in a color safe bleach solution (4 teaspoons per quart) for 5 minutes.

Face shields do not provide the same level of protection as masks and are not allowed as a substitute. If your student would like to wear a face shield and a mask they are allowed to do so.
If a defiant behavior occurs, resulting in a student’s refusal to wear a mask, disciplinary action will be taken.
Masks will be provided for students who do not have them, resulting in a fee to cover the cost of the mask.

Estamos ansiosos por el comienzo del año escolar, a pesar de que hay algunos aspectos que no son ideales. Sin embargo, con paciencia, flexibilidad y gracia planeamos lidiar con los inconvenientes que nos permitan estar juntos conforme comenzamos el año. Por favor lea el resto de la información en relación a los eventos de Open House de la Próxima semana y al Primer Día de Clases.
Open House el martes 25 y 26 de agosto.
Con el fin de permitir el distanciamiento social y visitas seguras para nuestras familias y personal, pedimos que todos seleccionen un horario de la hoja de registro anexa.
En ese tiempo programado los estudiantes y los padres pueden venir a una visita breve con sus maestros y dejar los útiles escolares necesarios.
Los maestros estarán enviando información del salón con anticipación a fin de responder la mayor cantidad de preguntas.
Una vez que llegue, por favor entre y salga por la puerta principal del semicírculo.
Los estudiantes en grados de 6o a 12o pueden ver sus horarios de clase en línea, mientras que la asignación de casilleros se publicará en el edificio. Los estudiantes son alentados a venir y guardar sus cosas en sus casilleros durante el horario que programaron.
Cualquier estudiante que necesite reunirse con la Sra. Buckley necesitará contactarla para hacer una cita.

Procedimientos del Primer Día de Clases

El edificio estará abierto de 6:30-7:30 para los estudiantes inscritos en el área de cuidado antes de clases (BSC por sus siglas en inglés). Todos los estudiantes de BSC necesitan entrar por las puertas de la cafetería. Los estudiantes de primaria de BSC permanecerán en la cafetería hasta que los estudiantes de grados 1o a 5o sean enviados a sus salones. Los estudiantes en grados de 6o a 12o necesitarán notificar al Sr. Jones si llegarán antes de las 7:30.
Todos los estudiantes que lleguen entre las 7:30 y 7:50 deberán ir a sus salones. Los estudiantes de Kinder permanecerán en la cafetería durante este tiempo.

Política para Cubreboca
Todos los estudiantes de K-12 y todos los miembros del personal deberán usar cubreboca cuando el distanciamiento social no sea posible.
Debido al corto periodo de tiempo y a la disponibilidad de los cubrebocas, el Sagrado Corazón ha elegido no adoptar una política de uniforme estricta en los estilos de los cubrebocas para el siguiente ciclo escolar. Los cubrebocas pueden ser de cualquier estilo (sujetados a la oreja o al cuello mejor conocidos como “neck gaiter”) siempre y cuando cubran la boca y la nariz y cumplan con los requisitos que aplican en los días sin uniforme. Pedimos que los cubrebocas sean de naturaleza simple (que tengan un logo sencillo o un patrón repetido) con el fin de prevenir las distracciones innecesarias.
Todos los estudiantes deberán tener un cubreboca adicional limpio, (en una bolsa) en su mochila.
Los diseños de los cubrebocas no deberán ser distractores en el entorno escolar. Por favor absténgase de usar cubrebocas con caras graciosas, que tengan groserías, sugieran temas sexuales, contengan temática que resulte irrespetuosa o grosera o promuevan el uso de alcohol, drogas o tabaco.
Los cubrebocas de tela deberán lavarse diariamente antes de volver a utilizarlos. Los cubrebocas de tela pueden lavarse al incluirse en las cargas de lavado habituales con la temperatura del agua más apropiada para la tela. Los cubrebocas pueden también lavarse a mano al remojarlos en una solución con blanqueador para telas de color (4 cucharadas por cuarto de agua) por 5 minutos.

Las caretas faciales no proporcionan el mismo nivel de protección que los cubrebocas y no se permitirán como sustituto. Si un estudiante desea usar careta facial y cubreboca puede hacerlo.
Si ocurre una conducta desafiante, que resulte en que el estudiante se rehuse a usar cubreboca, se tomarán acciones disciplinarias.
Se proporcionarán cubrebocas a los estudiantes que no tengan uno, lo que resultará en una cuota para cubrir el costo del cubreboca.
