Good Afternoon Parents & Happy Friday!
We received some sad, but understandable, news this past week. Long time SHS teacher, coach and athletic director David Fall submitted his resignation citing health concerns for his family. While we are sad at his leaving and will certainly miss him in our halls, behind the wheel of the school bus, and on the sidelines, we also recognize that this is in keeping with what Mr. Fall has taught his players over the years. He has consistently taught them that our priorities must be aligned as follows:
God – – Family – – School – – Team
All of us at Sacred Heart School are imminently grateful to Coach Fall and his wife Sonia for their many, many healthy and heartfelt contributions to the Sacred Heart School community and we look forward to seeing them around school and parish events as this pandemic eases. God bless you, David and Sonia!
The faculty came together on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week for professional development days. We can feel the excitement building as the first day of school approaches. Please continue to pray daily that we can remain safe and healthy and our school year gets off to a wonderful beginning!

Siron Named as Head Volleyball Coach
Mrs. Marlo Siron (SHS Class of ‘91) has been named head volleyball coach as the team enters the 2020 season. Siron played for the Gremlins before going on to play 4 years of college volleyball at Avila University.
She has been a part of the Sacred Heart volleyball program as both a JV and Junior High coach. She has also maintained a strong involvement in club volleyball on the local level and serves as an independent contractor for USA Volleyball on the regional and national scenes.
Practice for the new season begins Monday, August 10. Mrs. Siron will be assisted by Honor Villalobos on the high school level and Maddie Kilby at the junior high level.
Welcome, Coach Siron. We know our vaunted volleyball program remains in good hands!
FREE Sports Physicals this SUNDAY
FREE Sports Physicals will take place SUNDAY, August 9th, beginning at 5 pm and running until 6:30 pm at Sacred Heart School. ALL Students that plan to participate in an extracurricular activity Fall, Winter, or Spring grades 7-12 should plan to attend. If you can not attend Sunday, you will need current physical and athletic forms on file prior to your first practice. Please read the information below to determine IF you need a physical this year. If your physical is still valid, then you ONLY need to fill out the “participation” documents.
Students and parents ENTER through the West Parking Lot doors with MASK – sign in and wait on the bleachers in McGremlin Gym. Students & parents will be given a number based on when they arrive and STUDENTS will be called accordingly to the following stations.

Once exams and forms are completed students will turn their form into the designated volunteer and the originals will be kept in the Main Office at school. A copy can be made available if needed.

Pastor’s Corner
As we go back to school, there are probably some unknowns which can cause us some stress. For stress relief, I turn to Mark 4: 31-45. “Jesus calms the sea.” As we prepare to open school in the midst of a pandemic, ask your family to join you as you read the passage from Mark 4:31-45.
Know that Jesus is very present to us. He is also very awake and navigating us through this pandemic. More than anything with this pandemic, Satan wants to divide up our team. We can’t let that happen! Our team of students, parents, faculty, staff, and administration need to be pulling and pushing together through this storm. In the end, God wins; Satan loses. Let’s show it by being even more united and together in the midst of this storm.

¡Buenas Tardes Padres y Feliz Viernes!
La semana pasada recibimos noticias tristes pero comprensibles. El maestro, entrenador y director de deportes por mucho tiempo del SHS, David Fall entregó su renuncia citando inquietudes relacionadas con la salud de su familia. Si bien estamos tristes por su partida y definitivamente extrañaremos verlo en los pasillos, al volante del autobús escolar y en las líneas laterales de las canchas, también reconocemos que esta decisión se alinea con mantener lo que el Sr. Fall ha enseñado a los jugadores a través de los años. El consistentemente les ha enseñado que nuestras prioridades deben estar alineadas de la siguiente manera:
Dios – – Familia – – Escuela – – Equipo
Todos en la Escuela del Sagrado Corazón estamos muy agradecidos con el entrenador Fall y con su esposa Sonia por las muchas contribuciones saludables y sinceras para la comunidad de la Escuela del Sagrado Corazón y esperamos ansiosamente verlos en los eventos parroquiales y escolares conforme la pandemia vaya mitigándose. ¡Dios bendiga a Sonia y a David!
Los docentes se reunieron el martes y el miércoles de esta semana durante los días de desarrollo profesional. Podemos sentir la emoción creciendo a medida que se acerca el primer día de clases. ¡Por favor continúe orando diariamente para que podamos estar sanos y a salvo y que nuestro año escolar tenga un maravilloso comienzo!

Siron ha Sido Nombrada como la Entrenadora en Jefe de Voleibol
La Sra. Siron (Generación del SHS de 1991) ha sido nombrada entrenadora en jefe de voleibol al tiempo que el equipo entra a su temporada 2020. Siron jugó para los Gremlins antes de irse a jugar por 4 años en el voleibol universitario en Avila University.
Ella ha sido parte del programa de voleibol del Sagrado Corazón tanto como entrenadora de nivel JV como Junior High. Ha mantenido una fuerte participación en el club de voleibol a nivel local y sirve como contratista independiente para el voleibol E.E.U.U en los escenarios regional y nacional.
Las prácticas de la nueva temporada comenzarán el lunes 10 de agosto. La Sra. Siron será asistida por Honor Villalobos a nivel high school y por Maddie Kilby a nivel junior high.
Bienvenida entrenadora Siron. ¡Sabemos que nuestro preciado programa de voleibol permanece en buenas manos!
Exámenes Físicos GRATUITOS este DOMINGO
Los exámenes físicos GRATUITOS para deportes se realizarán este DOMINGO 9 de agosto de 5 a 6:30 pm en la Escuela del Sagrado Corazón. TODOS los estudiantes de grados 7o a 12o que planeen participar en actividades extracurriculares deberán planear asistir. Si no puede asistir este domingo, necesitará tener los formatos deportivos y de exámenes físicos actualizados en el expediente antes de su primera práctica. Por favor lea la información de abajo para determinar SI necesita o NO un examen físico este año. Si su examen físico aún es válido, entonces ÚNICAMENTE necesita llenar los documentos de “participación”.
Los estudiantes y padres ENTRARÁN mediante las puertas del estacionamiento del lado oeste usando cubreboca, registre su entrada y espere en las gradas del Gimnasio McGremlin. Los estudiantes y padres recibirán un número basado en su hora de llegada y los ESTUDIANTES serán llamados en ese orden a las siguientes estaciones.

Los documentos para la participación de los estudiantes que incluyen el permiso de los padres, el permiso de exención y el historial médico son requeridos cada año.
El examen físico es requerido cada dos años para estudiantes que participen en deportes interescolares.

Conforme volvemos a clases, probablemente habrá algunas incógnitas que pueden causar estrés. Para aliviar el estrés, recurro a Marcos 4: 31-45. “Jesús calma el mar.” Conforme nos preparamos para abrir la escuela en medio de la pandemia, pida a su familia que lo acompañe mientras lee el pasaje de Marcos 4:31-45.
Sepa que Jesús está presente para nosotros. Él está muy despierto y navegando con nosotros en esta pandemia, Satanás quiere dividir nuestro equipo. ¡NO podemos permitir que eso pase! Nuestro equipo de estudiantes, padres, docentes, personal y administradores necesitan jalar y empujar juntos en esta tormenta. Al final, Dios gana; Satanás pierde. Demostremos esto al estar aún más unidos y juntos en medio de esta tormenta.
