
Thanks so much to everyone who was able to come and support our graduates last week! I know many of you took advantage of the live stream option and that is also appreciated. There are some special thank you’s I want to share today:

to Mrs. Kennon for her great work with the seniors as their moderator and as a senior mom

to Mrs. Bolin for being so dependable with her assistance with both graduations and baccalaureate

to Mr. Hartman for sharing his extensive musical talents

to Fr. Corel and Fr. Veit for their support, leadership and spiritual guidance over the course of this past week and every week

to Mrs. Siron for pulling off a wonderful Prom and being here to support our tech and photo needs

to Mr. Jones for coordinating the 8th-grade graduation and so effectively supporting the high school events

to Ms. McMullin for serving as commencement speaker and working with the alumni association on the Awards luncheon

to Katelin Hladik, Paul Beykirch, Charles Tippie, Kyle Herrick, David Dick and the entire alumni committee for providing a very classy awards luncheon

to Mrs. Buckley for having the awards well prepared

to APC President Angela McMullin for coming in on Sunday to live-stream the commencement

to Mrs. City and Mrs. DeGraff for their untiring support of these events and all SHS efforts and events

to Mr. Freels and his staff for all of their assistance with setup and teardown

and, most of all, to our graduates and their parents. You are the backbone of our school community and we are very proud of the SHS classes of 2020 and 2024!
I also thought you might enjoy a few statistics about our Class of 2020:

16 of our 21 graduates (76%) posted a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher on a 4 point scale over their 4 years of high school.

13 of 21 (62%) posted a 3.7 or higher. Clearly, these young people have taken great pride in their work in the classrooms!

20 of the 21 members of this class have already successfully completed one or more college courses
-
As a group, they will be taking more than 290 hours of college credit with them as they leave SHHS
-
the SHHS Class of 2020 has been offered $695,975 in scholarships and will be utilizing over a half a million at $517,075!
