Greetings Everyone and Happy Friday!

We are going from one big week right into the next one.  Sacred Heart School gets the pleasure each year of hosting the Kaysinger Conference Varsity Boys and Girls Basketball Tournaments.  This event takes place in the beautiful Fred E. David Multipurpose Center on the campus of State Fair Community College.

Full brackets are included at the bottom of this SH Beat.  Each of the Gremlin Teams could play as many as 4 games this week.  Please try to bring the kids out to have some fun and support the high school teams.

Catholic Schools Week 2020 wrapped up this afternoon.  Although many of you know by now, we will share the SHS Excellence in Education “Teacher of the Year Award and our Hall of Fame inductees for 2020 in Tuesday’s Beat.

We received a beautiful Catholic Schools Week testimonial from our former pastor, Fr. Mark Miller this week.  I thought it would be very fitting to share it with you as we close out a great week.

2019 Vocation Awareness Week Vocation Poster / Essay / Video Contest

“Called to Sainthood” Award Announcement

Congratulations to 6th grader Max Van Leer for winning the 6th-grade division and the Diocesan Overall winner in this year’s contest.  Max won for his video featuring the martyr, St. Denis!

For his efforts, Max has won $30 worth of Chick-fil-A gift cards and diocesan-wide recognition.

St Jude’s Math-a-thon

We are very proud of the conscientious effort our elementary students are applying to their and their St. Jude Math-A-Thon project.  Total collections so far have amounted to nearly $7,600, already smashing the $6,000 goal!

Although we are no longer actively soliciting pledges, due to inclement weather, we will be extending our collection dates an extra week.  The Math-A-Thon will now officially come to an end on Friday, February 7th. Funds can be collected online or cash and checks can be turned in to Ms. Kramer.

Please praise your kids and encourage them to work hard on getting the last of the funds collected for the children and families of St. Jude. Let’s finish strong.  Thank you for your support!

Schedule Your Enrollment Appointment Today!

Many of our families still have yet to schedule their appointment to enroll for 2020-2021.  There are several appointment slots available now. The longer you wait, the less options you will have available to you.

It would be better for families and for Mrs. Pyle if the early time slots could be filled rather than having a large rush at the end of the enrollment period.  So, please consider scheduling your enrollment meeting today while you have the opportunity to choose a time that is most convenient for you.

SCRIPing LOVE for Valentine’s!!

Valentine’s Day is two weeks away.  It’s not too late to use SCRIP to show your loved ones how much they mean to you.  Whether you are looking for a date night, a couples spa session, or flowers and chocolate, Scrip has gift cards to help you get what you need.  Not only will you score major points, but you’ll earn money towards tuition at the same time!!!

Don’t forget to stop by the school office Monday through Friday from 8am – 3pm to shop from our great selection of physical gift cards.  We have several retailers ONLY available through the office (i.e. Casey’s, Cenex, Shell, Colton’s, McD, Taco Bell, Walgreens, and VISA to name a few).  If you can’t make it to the office during the week, look for us after all Masses at St. Patrick’s this weekend.

All electronic and in house orders placed through April 15th, 2020 will be credited to your school account in May.

Vamos de una gran semana a la siguiente. La Escuela del Sagrado Corazón se complace cada año en ser la anfitriona de los Torneos de baloncesto femenil y varonil de la Conferencia Kaysinger. Este evento se lleva a cabo en el hermoso Centro de Usos Múltiples  Fred E. David en el campus del SFCC.

Los esquemas de los juegos se incluyen al final de este SH Beat. Cada uno de los equipos de los Gremlins pudiera jugar un máximo de 4 juegos esta semana. Por favor intente llevar a los niños para que se diviertan y apoyen a los equipos de preparatoria.

La Semana de Escuelas Católicas 2020 finalizó esta tarde. Aunque muchos de ustedes se enteraron hoy, vamos a compartirles los nombres de la Excelencia en Educación del SHS “Reconocimiento al Maestro/a del Año y de  las personas que ingresarán al Salón de la Fama 2020 en el Beat del martes.

¡Muchas gracias al Padre Mark por sus palabras de apoyo y por sus muchos años dedicado al servicio de las familias de la Comunidad Católica de Sedalia!

“Llamado a la Santidad” Anuncio de Reconocimiento

¡Felicitaciones al alumno de 6o grado Max Van Leer por ganar la división de 6o grado y ser el ganador general diocesano en el concurso de este año. Max ganó por su video de la presentación del mártir St. Denis!

Por su esfuerzo Max ha ganado $30 en tarjetas de Chick-fil- A y reconocimiento en toda la Diócesis.

Math-a-thon de St. Jude

Estamos muy orgullosos del esfuerzo a conciencia  que nuestros estudiantes de primaria están aplicando a su proyecto del Math-A-Thon de St. Jude. ¡El total de la colecta  hasta ahora asciende a cerca de $7,600, y ha sobrepasando la meta de $6,000!

Aunque ya no estamos solicitando donativos, debido a las inclemencias del tiempo, vamos a extender nuestra fecha para recolectar los donativos.  El  Math-A-Thon oficialmente terminará el viernes 7 de febrero. Los fondos se pueden recolectar en línea,  el efectivo  y los cheques se pueden entregar a la Srita. Kramer

Por favor elogie a sus niños y aliéntelos a trabajar arduamente para recolectar los últimos fondos para los niños y la familias de St. Jude. Terminemos firmes.  ¡Gracias por su apoyo!

Muchas de nuestras familias no han programado su cita para inscribir para el 2020-2021.  Hay varios horarios disponibles. Entre más espere, menos opciones estarán disponibles.

Sería mejor para las familias y la Sra. Pyle si los horarios se pudieran llenar pronto en lugar de apresurarse al final del periodo de inscripción  Así que por favor considere programar su cita para inscribir hoy mismo mientras tiene la oportunidad de elegir el horario que más le convenga.
