Announcements:

  • We have all school mass tomorrow.  At Mass, we are asking everyone to bring a canned good to present as an offering. It will be donated to Open Door! Help us help our community.
  • Permission Slips need to be given to Mrs. Howell for the following students to go to Open Door: Kelsey Hudson  
  • Tomorrow is an early out to get out Thanksgiving break started.  We will be on a shortened day schedule.
  • If you are interested in the Elks Free throw contest that will be held here Dec. 7th. This is open for boys and girls ages 8-13. You will need to bring proof of age with you to enter.  Please come to the office and get a form if you are interested.

 

Scholar Bowl:  The academic bowl team competed at Northwest High School yesterday.  The Grems beat Tipton and lost by one question to Smithton. Their next action is on December 10th in Lincoln.

 

The Talking Grems Speech: The Talking Gremlins had a great night at the Kaysinger Conference Fall Classic Monday night, November 25.  Every member of the team advanced to finals in every event we entered!

  • Summer Caton, senior – 4th in Prose, 3rd in Storytelling, and 1st in Original Works
  • Jeff Hollabaugh, junior – 3rd in Radio Speaking and 2nd in Extemp
  • Addie Hunsaker, junior – 2nd in Poetry and 3rd in Improv Duet
  • Hayden Altena, junior – 4th in Radio Speaking
  • Donavan Dobson, sophomore – 6th in Prose and 7th in Improv Duet
  • Emma Lane, freshman – 7th in Poetry and 3rd in Improv Duet with partner Addie Hunsaker
  • Liam Stark – 7th in Improv Duet with partner Donavan Dobson

The Gremlins currently stand in 2nd place in the Conference, with the championship to be decided at our next Conference contest in January.

The Gremlins will host our annual invitational contest on December 14.  Our theme this year is “Ready to Rock!

 

Sports Action:

HS Girls Basketball:  Varsity Girls (1-1, 0-0) evened their record at 1-1 with a 45-36 win in Concordia last night over the St. Paul’s Saints.  The girls travel to Wheatland tonight in non-conference action. Tip-off is at 6:00pm.

 

HS Boys Basketball:  Varsity Boys (1-1, 0-0) (0-1, 0-0) were also victorious last night in Concordia over St. Paul’s.  The boys next action is next week in the Marshall Tournament.

 

HS Girls Swim:

 

JH Girls Basketball:  The Junior High Girls (0-0, 0-0) open their season on the road Friday, December 13 in Russellville.  Tip-off is at 5pm.

 

JH Boys Basketball: The Junior High Boys (0-0, 0-0) open their season on the road Friday, December 13 in Russellville.  The boys’ tip-off after the girls’ game.
