Gremlins Take First at the Momberg!
The Sacred Heart Gremlins captured first place at the prestigious Momberg Science and Math Competition at Central Methodist University. Competing against twenty-eight other teams, the Sacred Heart Team of Joseph Henke, Hunter Deresinski, and Dallin Chappell, captured first in both the Knowledge and Performance Events.
The students competed first in the Knowledge Event which required them to answer questions in calculus, trigonometry, physics, chemistry, biology, and anatomy. The SH team then took first place in the Performance Event, which required the student to design, build, and fly a straw hoop glider.
The Sacred Heart students were each awarded a 1,000.00 renewable scholarship to attend Central Methodist. This win signified a momentous accomplishment for these students. The competition was fierce, with multiple large schools fielding teams of brilliant young minds. The winning team credited their current classes in chemistry and physics with supplying them with the knowledge to answer multiple questions correctly. Physics is taught by Mrs. Kara Hill and chemistry is taught by Mr. Jim Gumbel at Sacred Heart.

Sacred Heart is excited to host the Class 1 District 7 Soccer Tournament this week at Clover Dell Soccer Park here in Sedalia. The Grems open play with a very tough match vs the Green Ridge Tigers on Thursday @ 6:30 PM. The entire bracket along with broadcast times is included below.
We hope that Gremlin fans will dress warmly and come out to support the Grems this week but if you can’t here is how you can hear the game broadcasts.
Both of Thursday’s Class 1 District 7 semifinal round soccer matches St. Paul’s vs. Cole Camp at 5 pm and Sacred Heart vs. Green Ridge at 6:30 pm can be heard on the internet only on www.kmmo.com
Also, Saturday’s 2 pm District 7 championship match will likewise be heard only on www.kmmo.com.

Upon doing that, that should lead you to a list of upcoming sporting events that we are carrying on the internet and you can go from there.

Kids Clubs – Enroll NOW!
Kid’s Club Information is attached to the Beat today. Kids Clubs are for students in grades 1-6 and meet on either Tuesdays or Thursdays after school for 10 weeks beginning soon. Take a look at what is offered this year and pay close attention to the DAY and GRADES that each club will be accepting. There is a small fee to help cover teacher expenses for each club. Please use the registration form attached to sign up by November 13th. Clubs sizes are limited so enrollment is based upon date and time of enrollment! Let’s have some FUN!
SH Scholar Bowl Team Opens Season
The new Sacred Heart Scholar Bowl team had a very successful opening night. The Grems dropped round 1 to Cole Camp by a score of 240 to 200.
In round 2 SHS beat LaMonte 290 to 180 and the night concluded with a 240-200 win over Lincoln in round 3. Coach Close was very happy with our start to the Scholar Bowl season. She thinks the Sacred Heart Scholars are well on their way.
Last night’s team was comprised of seniors Cody Damlo and Joseph Henke, juniors Tania Bhardwaj and Megan Wingerter and sophomore Donovan Dobson. Well done Grems!
Gremlin Gear – – – PLEASE NOTE!
Gremlin Gear order dates have changed! Gremlin Gear will be ordered on January 10 and March 10. There are some items on hand if you need something now. Please contact Carla Lucchesi (660-221-5576) with questions.
Honoring our Veterans
Veterans Day Assembly – Tuesday, November 12
Since there is no school on Monday the 11th (Diocesan Meetings) the school will be honoring all veterans of our school and the St. Vincent de Paul Parish on Tuesday morning the 12th. There will be a reception from 8am to 9am in the cafeteria. The Color Guard will present colors in the gym at 9am with a program to follow.
We offer a huge thank you to each and every veteran who has served or is serving our country!
Picture Retakes – – – Next Week
Thurs., Nov. 14th is retake picture day.
If your student is retaking their picture, they need to return the photo packets from the earlier session. Any student or staff member who has not had their photo taken needs to take their photo at this time.
Photographers will be at the school at the beginning of the day for a short period of time. Thanks!
Contemporary Praise Concert on Sunday, 11/17
We have been blessed with a great opportunity! Due to a cancellation in their schedule, we have an opportunity to have the Mette Family Ministries come to our parish on Sunday evening, Nov 17. This is music and prayer, interspersed with a few secular songs, for specific reasons. It would be held in the gym starting at 6PM.
What can your family expect out of the evening if you choose to come?
This is a musical experience for all ages. Younger children love the upbeat music and lights. Tweens and Teens are drawn to the speaking and testimony of Gabriella (15), Trinity (14), Charity (12), & Cecilia (10). Young adults enjoy the powerful praise & worship music. Older adults enjoy an experience they can share with their own children and grandchildren and are excited to see a vibrant future for the church.
The concert is FREE for all who attend. The Mette Family operates on a “free-will offering,’ which is taken up at the end of the concert.

¡Los Gremlins Ganan el Primer lugar en Momberg!
Los Gremlins del Sagrado Corazón ganaron el primer lugar en la prestigiosa competencia de Matemáticas y Ciencia de la Universidad Central Metodista. Compitieron en contra de 28 equipos, el equipo del Sagrado Corazón compuesto por Joseph Henke, Hunter Deresinski y Dallin Chappell ocupó el primer lugar tanto en los eventos de Conocimiento como en los de Desempeño.
Los estudiantes compitieron primero en el Evento de Conocimiento que requirió que contestarán preguntas de cálculo, trigonometría, física, química, biología y anatomía. El equipo del SH ganó el primer lugar en el Evento de Desempeño el cual requiere que el estudiante diseñe, construya y vuele un planeador con aros y popote.
A cada uno de los estudiantes del Sagrado Corazón se les premió con una beca de 1,000.00 renovables para asistir a la Universidad Central Metodista. Esta victoria significó un logro trascendental para estos estudiantes. La competencia fue feroz con múltiples escuelas grandes que formaron equipos de mentes jóvenes brillantes. El equipo ganador dió el crédito a sus clases actuales de química y física por proporcionarles el conocimiento para responder correctamente a múltiples preguntas. La Sra. Kara Hill imparte la clase de física y el Sr. Jim Gumble imparte la clase de química en el Sagrado Corazón.

El Sagrado Corazón está emocionado por ser el anfitrión del torneo de fútbol Clase 1 Distrito 7 esta semana en el Parque Clover Dell en Sedalia. Los Gremlins abren el juego con un encuentro muy difícil encontra de los Tigres de Green Ridge el jueves a las 6:30 PM. La descripción de los juegos y los horarios de transmisión se incluyen abajo.
Esperamos que los fans de los Gremlins se vistan con ropa abrigadora y vengan a apoyarlos esta semana, pero si no puede, esta es la forma en la que puede escuchar las transmisiones del juego.

El viernes 8 de noviembre, Paid Dress Down a beneficio del Fondo de Impacto Estudiantil Brendan Eisenmenger, los fondos se utilizarán para enriquecer e impactar las vidas de los estudiantes del Distrito Escolar Sedalia 200 al identificar y financiar las necesidades y oportunidades educativas para nutrir el crecimiento y éxito continuo de los estudiantes.
¡Clubes Infantiles!
La información de los clubes infantiles se anexa en el Beat de hoy. Los clubes son para estudiatnes en grados de 1 a 6 y se reúnes los martes o los jueves después de clases por 10 semanas y comenzarán pronto. Eche un vistazo para ver lo que se ofrece este año y ponga especial atención al DÍA y a los GRADOS que cada club estará aceptando. Hay una pequeña cuota para ayudar a cubrir los gastos de los maestros para cada club. Por favor utilice el formato de registro anexo para inscribir a más tardar el 13 de noviembre. Los clubes tiene cupo limitado así que la inscripción se basa en el orden en que se reciban los formatos. ¡VAMOS A DIVERTIRNOS!
El equipo del Scholar Bowl del SH Abre la Temporada
El nuevo equipo del Scholar Bowl del Sagrado Corazón tuvo una noche de apertura exitosa. Los Grems cayeron en la ronda 1 ante Cole Camp con una puntuación de 240 a 200.
En la ronda 2, SHS venció a LaMonte 290 a 180 y la noche concluyó con una victoria de 240 a 200 sobre Lincoln en la ronda 3. La entrenadora Close estuvo muy contenta con el inicio de la temporada del Scholar Bowl. Ella Piensa que los eruditos del Sagrado Corazón van por buen camino.
El equipo de anoche estuvo compuesto por los seniors (alumnos de grado 12) Cody Damlo y Joseph Henke, juniors (alumnos de grado 11) Tania Bhardwaj y Megan Wingerter y sophomore (alumno de grado 10) Donovan Dobson. ¡Bien hecho Grems!

Honrando a nuestros Veteranos
Asamblea del Día de los Veteranos – Martes 12 de noviembre
Como no hay clases el lunes 11 de noviembre (Juntas Diocesanas) la escuela honrará a los veteranos de nuestra escuela y de la Parroquia de San Vicente de Paúl el martes 12 de noviembre por la mañana. Habrá una recepción de 8am a 9am en la cafetería. El abanderado hará los honores en el gimnasio a las 9am con un programa a seguir.
¡Ofrecemos un enorme agradecimiento a todos y cada uno de los veteranos que han servido o están sirviendo a nuestro país!
Re toma de Fotografías – – – Próxima Semana
Jueves 14 de noviembre es el día en el que se volverán a tomar fotos a quienes lo requieran.
Si su estudiante volverá a tomarse la foto, necesitan devolver los paquetes de fotos de la sesión anterior. Los estudiantes y miembros del personal que no se hayan tomado la foto, necesitan hacerlo en esta fecha.
¡Los fotógrafos estarán en la escuela al inicio del día por un breve periodo de tiempo! ¡Gracias!
Concierto Contemporáneo de Alabanza el domingo 17 de noviembre
¡Hemos sido bendecidos con una gran oportunidad! Debido a una cancelación en su calendario, tenemos la oportunidad de tener a los Ministerios Familiares Mette visitando nuestra parroquia el domingo 17 de noviembre por la tarde. Este evento es música y oración intercalada con unas cuantas canciones seculares por razones específicas. El evento se llevará a cabo en el gimnasio a partir de las 6 pm
¿Qué puede esperar su familia de la noche si decide venir?
Esta es una experiencia musical para todas las edades. Los niños menores adoran la música alegre y las luces. Los preadolescentes y los adolescentes son llevados al testimonio y discurso de Gabriella (15), Trinity (14), Charity (12), & Cecilia (10). Los jóvenes disfrutan de alabanza poderosa y música. Los adultos disfrutan la experiencia que pueden compartir con sus propios hijos y nietos y se emocionan al ver el futuro brillante de la iglesia.
El concierto es GRATUITO para todos los asistentes. La Familia Mette opera bajo “donativos a libre albedrío” que se realizan al final del concierto.
