2019 Winter Homecoming

Sacred Heart’s 2019 Winter Homecoming Week, has come to a conclusion. The week truly was an outstanding example of how strong our love is for the school.

With the absence of Monday because of a snow, we kicked off the spirit week on Tuesday, with dynamic duo day, where senior Bryan Schlotterbeck and senior Easton Webb won the best dress award as they suited up for a All State and Mayhem duo.

On Wednesday, the theme was class theme day. The freshman class dressed as toy story characters while the sophomores selected Disney characters, the junior class with meme day, and the senior class chose senior citizen as their theme and took home the trophy that day with best participation.

Thursday was the big day: red and white day. Students were showing up, bleeding red and white in their outfits. Donovan Dobson won the award for best school spirit as he covered himself in red and white.

The end of the school day consisted of the Gremlin Olympics, and as sad as it is to admit, the freshman ran away with the day capturing both the championship in dodgeball and winning the quiz bowl.

Friday was the most important day of the week, our very own Bishop Shawn McKnight was able to join us for our last day of homecoming and lead our mass. With the help of our Bishop and the people within the diocese, our school was able to receive a donation of $1 million which will be used as an endowment to assist the school’s tuition and scholarship funding.

The dress up day for Friday was Sacred Heart’s best dress, and the Marshall brothers took away the breath of many with their fabulous bow ties and sports coats.

The end of the day concluded with our homecoming pep assembly led by seniors Bryan Schlotterbeck and Easton Webb, with the help of junior Aaron Kennon.

This week has truly been a blessing for our school. It has highlighted the true meaning of faith and pride in Sacred Heart and its students and emphasized how blessed our lives truly are. The homecoming week of January 14th, 2019  was one to remember forever!
