Announcements:

  • All boys and girls ages 9 to 14 are invited to participate in the local level of competition for the 2019 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship on Sunday, January 27th beginning at 1:00 PM in the Sacred Heart School gym.  Trophies are awarded in all 12 divisions (9-year-old boys through 14-year-old boys and 9-year-old girls through 14-year-old girls). Age eligibility is determined by the age of the contestant as of January 1st, 2019.  This contest is free of charge and open to all area youth.

 

  • Beginning on Saturday, January 26th and running through Sunday, February 3rd the 10th and Thompson Car Wash is once again sponsoring a terrific CSW promotion.  In honor of Catholic Schools Week 2019, they have committed to a $1 donation to Sacred Heart School for every car through the Automatic Car Washes. *This promotion does not include customers utilizing the Unlimited Car Wash plan.
  • The STUCO Bake Sale will be on Tuesday, January 29 during lunch. Items may be purchased for 25 cents to $2. All proceeds will be donated to the Bothwell Regional Health Center Cardiac Rehab.   
  • There will have a track meeting for JH and HS during homeroom Friday, February 1st in the commons

 

  • The Homecoming dance has been moved to February 16th.

 

 

Sports Action:

Varsity/JV Boys Basketball:  The varsity (9-7, 5-0) beat the Jamestown Eagles in the consolation bracket of the Slater Tournament by a score of 74-44 last night in Slater.  The Grems take on the Santa Fe Chiefs at 9pm this evening for the consolation trophy.

 

Varsity/JV Girls Basketball: The varsity girls (3-13, 2-3) lost to the Sweet Springs Greyhounds by a score of 54-45 in the consolation bracket of the Slater Tournament.  They take on the host Slater Wildcats this afternoon at 4:30pm in the 7th place game.

 

Junior High Boys Basketball: The Sacred Heart JH Boys (7-1, 5-0) beat the Stover Bulldogs in the second round of the Gremlin Invite by a score of 30-25.  The Grems next action is tonight in the final round of the tournament. The boys take on the Northwest Mustangs in a 7:30pm start. (“B” boys 3-0)

 

Junior High Girls Basketball: The JH Girls (5-2, 3-1) beat the Stover Bulldogs in the second round of the Gremlin Invite by a score of 19-15.  

The Grems take on the Northwest Mustangs for the tournament championship tonight at 8:30.
