- All School Mass and food drive tomorrow at 8:30
- Students going on College visits need to fill out the College visit day permission slip PRIOR to the day attending. If they are not filled out prior then the absence cannot be school excused.
- The Sedalia Knights of Columbus will be holding a Book Fair on Nov. 30, 2018, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Dec. 1, 2018, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. (or until all books are sold). It will take place at the Knights of Columbus Hall 1708 Elm Hills Blvd with the proceeds to benefit our Seminarian Christopher Hoffmann and the Sacred Heart Tuition Assistance Program.
- The available books include 347 authors. And will sell for $5.00 per book plus $5.00 additional for an author signed copy. Clearance sale prices may occur on Dec. 1 in order to sell out book inventory. Payment can be made by cash and check only with ‘All Sales Final’.
- Rachel’s Families will meet during 4th hour Wednesday to plan for the door decorating.
- There will be a Junior class meeting today in the commons during homeroom.
- Speech Team – don’t forget to come by Mrs. Bahner’s room during homeroom for a team picture
- The NJHS will be out today on a field trip to Science City.
- The Talking Gremlins had a great night at the first Kaysinger Conference Speech Contest last night at SFCC. Of 20 entries, 18 advanced to the final round – probably a school record!
- Freshman Donavan Dobson competed in Prose and Improvised Duet with his partner, Chanceller Homan.
- Chanceller also won 3rd place in Storytelling, proving that hard work pays off!
- Sophomore Hayden Altena tied for 5th place in Radio and was 4th in Improv Duet with her partner, Senior Alyssa Perez.
- Sophomore Addie Hunsaker finished 7th in Poetry, 7th in Radio, and 6th in Storytelling.
- Sophomore Jeff Hollabaugh placed 4th in Extemporaneous Speaking.
- Sophomore Jaxon Beeler completed a hat trick, placing 3rd in Poetry, 2nd in Humorous, and 1st in Improv Duet with his partner, Junior Jacob Mertes.
- Jacob also placed 4th in Radio Speaking.
- Junior Summer Caton won the trifecta with 4th in Original Works, 2nd in Storytelling, and 1st in Humorous.
- Senior Alyssa Perez, besides placing 4th in Improv Duet, placed 5th in Poetry and 2nd in Prose.
- Currently, the Gremlins are in 2nd place in Conference, with the Conference Championship to be decided in early February. Our next contest is on December 8, when we host our annual speech contest right here at Sacred Heart!
Sports Action:
Varsity/JV Boys Basketball: The varsity boys (1-0, 0-0) next action is on Monday, 11/26 vs Marshall in the Marshall Tournament. Tip-off is at 8:30.
Varsity/JV Girls Basketball: The varsity girls (1-1, 1-0) beat the LaMonte Vikings at home last night by a score of 54-23. Next action is at home again on Tuesday night (the 27th) vs. Wheatland. JV tips off at 6pm.
Junior High Boys Basketball: The JH Boys (0-0, 0-0) season opens on Monday, December 10th in Stover.
Junior High Girls Basketball: The JH Girls (0-0, 0-0) season opens on Monday, December 10th in Stover.
