• In honor of All Saints Day today we will have All School Mass at 8:30.  All Saints is one of 6 Holy Days of Obligation celebrated each year in the Roman Catholic Church in the United States.  Mass is going to be terrific today. Bring a great attitude.
• Today is an early out for parent-teacher conferences.  We are on shortened day schedule again today.
• Today is the last day for Book Fair! The theme for today is Last Minute Deals! Make sure you stop by before the book fair is gone!
• Babysitters are needed for the 1st Reconciliation meeting on Thurs Nov 15th from 6 to 8. If you are in need of service hours and can help out, please see Mrs. Bentch.
• Summer Caton and Grace Ulbrich, please check in with your in-house teachers before going to ITV Personal Finance today.
• Today is the last day of warm weather dress season this fall. Winter weather dress code goes into effect on Tuesday, November 6th, 2018.
• If you find a purple bifold wallet please return to the office.

Parent Teacher Conferences

We had a great first night on Tuesday evening with increased attendance over last year.  The faculty will be here again tonight to visit with you and partner with you to give your child the best possible chance for success as this year progresses.

If you have an elementary student it is not too late to contact the school office to make an appointment with your child’s teacher.

If you have a secondary student the schedule is open enough that you won’t need an appointment.  Just come in and stop by to see the teachers you wish to visit with.

APC News (Discount Cards)

Earlier in the school year, packets of Sacred Heart School discount cards were distributed to students to sell as a fundraising effort for the Active Parents Club, which is the Parent-Teacher organization of SHS.

As the sales period is now drawing to a close, please return all sales proceeds and remaining unsold cards to the school office by Friday, November 9.  Through your efforts, we recently surpassed$10,000 in sales for this year’s fundraising drive! Proceeds raised will be used to help support the classroom and educational needs of our teachers and school.

Our next meeting is on Friday, November 9th at 11:30 in the Parish Center.  We will be hearing more about the new Robotics Club in the secondary grades.  Please make plans to join us and thank you for your continued support of Active Parents Club!

Fall Picture Retakes

Picture retake day is next Friday, November 9.  Interstate will be here at the beginning of the day.  If your child has not had their photo taken due to illness or any other reason they need to have it done that morning.  If you want a retake please send them with their picture packet and all photos intact.

In either case, students will need an order form.  You may contact the school office to pick up an order form or get any questions you might have answered.

Advent Family Night

This will take place on November 28th from 6pm-8pm.  Registration cut-off is November 14th so adequate supplies can be purchased.  Advent Wreaths are $25 – Just crafts are $10

Please send money to school marked ‘Advent Family Night’ or to Sacred Heart Parish Office.  A flyer for this event is attached to this message. If you have questions you may contact Timara Kennon (tkennon@gogremlins.com).

The SHHS Cheerleaders are sponsoring their annual cheer clinic on Friday, November 16 beginning at 3 pm.  Students in grades K through 6 are invited to sign up and attend.

There is a flyer attached to this message.  Just print it off, fill it out and return it to your teacher with the $30 fee by November 8, 2018 ,if you would like to participate.

Participants will be performing at halftime of the varsity girls game that evening.  The game starts at 6 with the girls’ performance beginning at approximately 6:30. Please check out the flyer and feel free contact Mrs. Elyse Starke with questions (estarke@gogremlins.com).

Conferencias Padres Maestros

Tuvimos una estupenda primera noche de conferencias la tarde del martes con un incremento en la asistencia respecto al año pasado. El personal docente estará de nuevo aquí el día de hoy para reunirse con usted y para hacer equipo con usted para proporcionar a su hijo/a la mejor oportunidad posible de éxito a medida que el año avanza.

Si tiene un estudiante en primaria no es tarde para llamar a la oficina y hacer una cita con el maestro de su hijo/a.

Si tiene un estudiante en grados de preparatoria o secundaria, el horario está abierto de forma que no necesita hacer una cita. Simplemente venga y visite al maestro o maestros que desea ver.

Noticias  del APC (Tarjetas de Descuento)

Al comienzo del año escolar, se distribuyeron los paquetes de las tarjetas de descuento de la Escuela del Sagrado Corazón a los estudiantes para venderlos como un esfuerzo de recaudación de fondos del Club de Padres Activos (APC por sus siglas en inglés), el cual es la organización Padres-Maestros del SHS.

Puesto que el periodo de ventas se acerca a su final, por favor devuelva el dinero de las ventas y las tarjetas que no haya vendido a la oficina escolar a más tardar el viernes 9 de noviembre.  ¡Mediante sus esfuerzos, recientemente sobrepasamos los $10,000 en ventas para el evento de recaudación de este año! Lo recaudado se usará para apoyar las necesidades educativas y del salón de nuestros maestros y la escuela.

Nuestra próxima junta será el viernes 9 de noviembre a las 11:30 en el Centro Parroquial. Escucharemos más sobre el nuevo Club de Robótica para  los grados de secundaria. ¡Por favor haga planes para acompañarnos, le agradecemos su apoyo continuo para el Club de Padres Activos!

Re-toma de Fotografías de Otoño

Las fotos de otoño se volverán a tomar el viernes 9 de noviembre. La compañía Interstate estará aquí ese día. Si a su hijo no le tomaron la foto porque estaba enfermo o por cualquier otra razón que necesite que le vuelvan a tomar la foto, hágalo ese día. Si desea que le vuelvan a tomar la foto por favor envíe el paquete de fotos intacto.

En cualquiera de los casos, los estudiantes necesitarán un formato de pedido. Puede contactar a la oficina escolar para recoger un formato o para obtener respuestas a sus preguntas.

Noche Familiar de Adviento

La Comisión Litúrgica de la Parroquia del Sagrado Corazón está organizando una Noche Familiar de Adviento. Las Coronas de Adviento y otras manualidades con tema del Adviento se harán en el Gimnasio Viejo.

Esto se llevará a cabo el 28 de noviembre de 6pm-8pm.  La fecha límite para el registro es el 14 de noviembre para que los materiales necesarios se puedan comprar. Las Coronas de Adviento costarán $25 – Las manualidades sin incluir la corona cuestan $10

Por favor envíen el dinero a la escuela en un sobre marcado con la leyenda  ‘Advent Family Night’ o déjelo en la Oficina de la Parroquia del Sagrado Corazón  Hay un volante en relación a este evento anexo a este mensaje. Curso Intensivo de Animadoras del SHS 2018 – 2019

Las Animadoras del SHHS están organizando su curso intensivo el viernes 16 de noviembre a las 3pm.  Los estudiantes en grados K a 6 están invitados a inscribirse y a asistir.

Hay un volante anexo a este mensaje. Simplemente imprímalo, llénelo y entréguelo a la maestra del grupo de su hija/o junto con una cuota de  $30 a más tardar el 8 de noviembre de 2018 si le gustaría participar.

Los participantes harán una presentación en el medio tiempo del juego femenil de la categoría varsity  de esa noche. El juego comenzará a las 6, las chicas harán su presentación aproximadamente a las 6:30. Por favor revise el volante y tenga la libertad de contactar a la Sra. Elyse Starke si tiene preguntas (estarke@gogremlins.com).
