- Boys and girls 9-12 Basketball meeting Today Sept. 20 during homeroom in the main gym.

Sports Action
Volleyball:
The varsity (6-5-1 / 2-1) & JV Grems play in Windsor tonight as conference play continues.
JH Volleyball:
The JH Girls “A” (9-0) & “B” (1-0-2) volleyball teams travel to Windsor tonight to continue conference play.
Girls Golf:
The varsity girls travel to Marshall this afternoon to compete in a triangular match @ Indian Foothills golf course.
Soccer:
The varsity boys (5-5 / 2-0) play Lone Jack in a home match this afternoon at Clover Dell Soccer Park.
JH Soccer:
The Gremlin JH Soccer team (1-1) plays in a home match this afternoon vs. Buecker Middle School of Marshall.
JH Football:
The JH Football team will play their final game of the season on Monday, October 8th as we take on the Northwest Mustangs at the S-C Youth Fields. Kickoff is at 6 pm.
St. Robert Bellarmine Speech League:
Sacred Heart is forming a team for St. Robert Bellarmine Speech League, and we invite all students in grades 6-8 to join us.
Yes, we’ll have fun, but the really cool part is that participating in speech league will help students of all abilities develop more confidence with communication, public speaking, and stage presence.
Students have the choice of performing a 3-5 minute humorous solo, dramatic solo and/or a duet. We’ll have many scripts to choose from, but for those with a passion for writing, the Bellarmine Speech League also invites students to perform original written works.
PRACTICE: Students have TWO practice options
Thursday morning from 7 – 7:40 a.m. and/or
Thursday after school 3 – 4:15 p.m. (No afternoon practice on early out days)
FIRST PRACTICE: Thursday, Oct 4 (7 a.m. OR 3:15 p.m.)
We’ll talk more about Bellarmine and the goals each student has for participating, whether that be winning a blue ribbon or overcoming a fear of public speaking (or anything in between). 🙂

Saturday, November 3, at St. Joseph School, Pilot Grove
Saturday, January 19, at St Mary’s, Glasgow
Saturday, March 2, at Our Lady of Lourdes, Columbia
Diocesan meet on Saturday, April 6, at the Cathedral School in Jefferson City

¡Buen día, padres de 6o, 7o y 8o grado!
El Sagrado Corazón está formando el equipo para la Liga de Oratoria “St. Robert Bellarmine” e invitamos a todos los estudiantes en grados de 6 a 8 a que se unan al equipo.
Sí, nos vamos a divertir, pero la parte más interesante de esto es que el participar en la liga de oratoria ayudará a los estudiantes de todas las capacidades a desarrollar más confianza en la comunicación, a hablar en público y con la presencia en escenarios.
Los estudiantes tienen la opción de presentar un solo humorístico de 3 a 5 minutos de duración o un solo dramático y/o un dueto. Vamos a tener muchos guiones de donde elegir, sin embargo para aquellos con la pasión de escribir, la Liga de Oratoria Bellarmine también invita a los estudiantes a presentar escritos originales.
PRÁCTICA: Los estudiantes tienen DOS opciones de práctica
Jueves por la mañana de 7 – 7:40 a.m. y/o
Jueves después de clases de 3 – 4:15 p.m. (No tendremos práctica por las tardes en los días que haya salida temprano)
PRIMERA PRÁCTICA: Jueves 4 de octubre (7 a.m. O 3:15 p.m.)
Hablaremos más sobre Bellarmine y sobre los desafíos que cada estudiante tiene al participar, ya sea ganar un listón azul o superar el miedo a hablar en público (o algo entre estos). 🙂
