The family of Sharon Dey established The Sharon Dey Scholarship in 2016 to honor her retirement following a 40-year teaching career at Sacred Heart School. Dey, a respected math teacher, also coached a number of sports including volleyball, softball, and basketball.
Growing up in a military family, Ms. Dey attended 25 different schools, but she said Sacred Heart was always her favorite. Although she did not graduate Sacred Heart, in the late 1980s Ms. Dey received an honorary diploma from the school, and to this day, considers herself an alumna of Sacred Heart.
Contributions toward The Sharon Dey Scholarship will provide funding for SHS tuition scholarships and teacher professional development.
