1st grade 

Receiving the crucifix.

Before children receive their first reconciliation and first communion, normally in second grade, they know Jesus died on the cross for their sins and so they could spend all of eternity with him in Heaven. We give them the crucifix to remind them of all that Jesus has done for them and the relationship He desires to have with each child.  All parents of first-grade students are welcome to the Sacred Heart Chapel for this prayer service.
