• Today is the Feast day of the Presentation of Our Lord.  This is also the World Day of Prayer for those in Consecrated Life.  So, as we pray this morning let’s pray especially for Fr. Joe, Fr. Cesar and Sr. Mary Ruth
• Morning Prayer 

 

Heavenly Father,

We pray today for all those consecrated to God by the vows of chastity, poverty and obedience that they may seek to live their baptismal promises more intensely and have the grace to persevere in their commitment to the Lord and serve with open hearts and willing spirits. 

We pray especially for Fr. Joe, Fr. Cesar and Sr. Mary Ruth in gratitude that they so willingly responded to the prompting of the Holy Spirit to be a consecrated person and that they may experience the support of the whole Church and each of us as they continue their growth in holiness. AMEN

• The Sacred Heart Speech Team competed in the Kaysinger Conference Tournament yesterday at State Fair Community College. 

• Mariah Van Leer placed 2nd in Humorous Interpretation. 
• Sophie Anderson placed 2nd in Storytelling. 
• Sophie and Mariah placed 2nd in Duo Interpretation. 
• Anthony Sierra placed 3rd in Dramatic Interpretation. 
• Lexi Owens, Sarah Hill, Laysha Lopez, Mary Butner, and Bailee Vogel all contributed to team points.  
• Sophie  Anderson also received All-Conference Honors.

• The Gremlin Student Store and Cafe are open every day after school. We have lots of prime drinks in stock. Special deal for this week is two bags of chips for $1. Please stop by today to see Joshua and Logan.
• The Cole Camp math contest sign-up is on Mrs. Hill’s door. Sign up by Feb 15.
• Attention 6-8th grade! There is a math contest for you! Sign-ups are on Mrs. Hill’s door!

 

TODAY IN HISTORY

 

Winter Sports Action:

Varsity/JV Boys Basketball (12-7, 4-3,  JV 6-6) – The boys play for the 3rd place trophy in the conference tournament at 4:30pm Saturday afternoon vs the Northwest Mustangs..

 

Varsity/JV Girls Basketball (15-5, 4-1) – The SH girls play Friday night in the Championship game of the Conference Tournament vs the Tipton Cardinals.  Tip off is at 8pm on the campus of State Fair Community College.

 

Varsity Girls Swimming – The Girls swim team competes in their final regular season event of the year on Monday.

 

JH Boys Basketball (8-4, 4-3) (“B” 7-1, 5-1) – The Sacred Heart Junior High boys & girls play tonight at home vs Windsor.  Girls action tips off at 5:30pm.

 

JH Girls Basketball (7-3, 5-2) – The SH Lady Gremlins play tonight at home vs Windsor.  Girls action tips off at 5:30pm followed by boys action.
