Congratulations to the high school soccer and volleyball teams for bringing home Conference Tournament championships over the weekend! Please check out Mrs. Blackburn’s section below for more information on those awesome achievements. Way to go Grems!
This section today is being devoted to saying thanks and celebrating all those most responsible for another GREAT Bazaar Auction. More than $125,000 was raised again this year. It was another fantastic event and it does so much to keep our school and parish viable!
Special thanks begin with Bob and Katelin Hladik. For the 4th straight year they chaired the auction and were instrumental in our great success. This year they had co-chairs, Jared and Christi Engles. Jared and Christi were learning the ropes as they will be taking over the reins for the 2023 auction. Thanks to the Hladiks and the Engles!
Bob and Katelin asked for each of their great committee chairs to be recognized, expressing a heartfelt thank you. The auction could not have been near the success it was without these wonderful volunteers:

Blessing of Pets
This morning, Deacon Turf Martin, led the Blessing of Pets. This is traditionally done on October 4, the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, but scheduling conflicts held us off until today.
High School Art Contest Results
Congratulations to SHS for taking 4th place in the group art contest event. Zoe Martin and Miguel Alejo took 2nd place in charcoal and pastel. Laura Granados took 1st place in colored pencil. Way to go SHS and Mrs. Nehring!

She is employed as a teacher assistant for the first grade class. Mrs. Rodriguez has transitioned well in her new role. Mrs. Sobaski and the 1st grade students appreciate her kindness and helpfulness in the classroom.

Blood Drive THANK YOU!
Did you know that 580 pints of blood are needed every day for our family, friends, and neighbors? We registered 81 donors last week and collected 69 units of blood. 69 units of blood helps 207 people! And, there were 17 first time donors!! Way to go Gremlins, this is fantastic and a terrific way to give back to our community. And Thank You Mrs. Hagebusch and your classes for always going above and beyond to make sure that our Blood Drives run smoothly.

GREMLINS WIN TWO CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLES IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS
KAYSINGER CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT SOCCER CHAMPIONS
The last few days have proven to be very successful for the Gremlins. We are very proud of their hard work and dedication. Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory.
Friday night The Varsity Soccer team continued their winning streak and came out victorious over the Smithton Tigers in the Kaysinger Conference Championship Game.
Both teams played with intensity from the start, but the Gremlins largely controlled the game with possession of the ball. Junior Jackson Manning scored the first goal of the game with 6 minutes remaining in the first half. Three minutes later, Manning assisted George Bain’s 50th career goal to make the score 2-0 at halftime.
Junior Jackson Manning scored his second goal with 17 minutes left in the game. The Sacred Heart defense was especially impressive.
KAYSINGER CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONS
On Saturday the volleyball team started conference tournament bracket play taking on Cole Camp in the semi final. They started the day with focus and intensity and never let off, Sacred Heart won in two sets 25-10, 25-23 to advance to the championship game against Stover and won in two sets 25-19 and 25-15. Senior Captain Kate Carney played one of her best games this season with 13 kills, 12 digs, and 5 aces. Sophomore, Sophia Carney on the outside had 8 kills, 4 digs, and 2 aces.
Sacred Heart had a noticeable presence on the net which helped slow down Stover’s offense. Seniors Zoe Martin had several block touches & right-side defensive moves that kept the rallies going.
Senior Captain Emma Siron led the team in kills with 36 and had 11 digs and some big blocks at crucial times at the net.
Senior Mariana Restrepo stepped up and played amazing defense on the back row leading the Gremlins with 13 digs and 9 kills at the net.
Keeping the team in system and feeding the balls to the offense, as usual, the calm to our crazy, Junior setter Sammy Altena was solid! She had 36 assists and contributed 3 kills and 7 digs. The Gremlin’s other dominant setter, Junior Emily Hesse had 19 assists and 5 digs.
Sophomore Libero Avery Epple kept the balls from hitting the ground and kept the Stover serves in system. She had 16 serve receptions and 5 digs.
The Sacred Heart Varsity record is now 23-6.
New Bus Driver
In the spirit of good news I would like to take this opportunity to introduce our new driver: Mr. Webster Brown.
Mr. Brown has been a parishioner at St. Vincent De Paul and a resident of Sedalia for the past 16 years. You may recognize the name as he is the husband of our finance director Mrs. Shari Brown. Timing is everything, we have been in desperate need for a driver to meet our needs for the Warrensburg route, field trips and activities. Mr. Brown is retired and after raising 7 children with one still school age, he has decided to help here with the school. If you see Mr. Brown, please offer him a warm welcome.

RaiseRight Bonus Fest Almost Here
It’s time to gear up for the holidays and the RaiseRight Bonus Fest is here to help! Friday begins the second weekend of Bonus Sales. There will be 3 more weekends of sales through October 30th. Sales run from 12am ET on Friday through 11:59 ET on Sunday and feature different groups of brands each weekend. These bonus rebate sales are only available through the RaiseRight app and will apply to all card types (electronic, physical, and reloadable gift cards). If you haven’t already set up your online account, it’s not too late! Look for the RaiseRight app user guide on the school website for instructions on setting up your account and using the app. These Bonus Rebate Sales are a great way to maximize the rebates you earn and save even more on tuition!!
Our next in house bulk order for physical gift cards is Monday, October 24th. All orders submitted to the school office by the end of school, or through the RaiseRight app by 8pm, on the 24th will be included in the order. Orders should be ready for pick-up the following week. In the next few weeks we will be implementing some small procedural changes to the RaiseRight program. Keep an eye out for additional information in the Beat as we finalize the details.
Don’t forget we have several retailers ONLY available through the office (i.e. Casey’s, Cenex, Shell, Colton’s, Kehde’s, McD, Menards, Taco Bell, Walgreens, and VISA to name a few). It’s that time of year again…Time for Flu Shots
Just 2 weeks to Flu Shots! Sacred Heart will partner with Pettis County Health to give Flu Shots on October 18, 2022 starting at 9:00 am, to faculty, students, and family members. Parent consent forms (use this same form for adults) must be turned in to the office by October 14.
Pettis County Health Dept will bill insurance directly with no additional cost. Cost without insurance, for those 19 and older, will be $25, no charge for children 18 and under.
Join Key Club! Key Club – Sacred Heart School is accepting new members to Key Club. Any high school student is eligible to join. Key Club is an international, student-led organization that provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership. All interested high school students are invited to join at any time. We meet every other Tuesday in the commons during homeroom. Jornada de donación de Sangre ¡GRACIAS!

Los últimos días han resultado ser muy exitosos para los Gremlins. Estamos muy orgullosos de su arduo trabajo y dedicación. Gracias sean dadas a Dios, que nos da la victoria.
El viernes por la noche, el equipo Varsity Soccer continuó con su racha ganadora y salió victorioso sobre los Smithton Tigers en el Juego de Campeonato de la Conferencia de Kaysinger.
Ambos equipos jugaron con intensidad desde el principio, pero los Gremlins controlaron en gran medida el juego con la posesión del balón. La estudiante de segundo año Avery Epple evitó que las bolas golpearan el suelo y mantuvo los servicios de Stover en el sistema. Tuvo 16 recepciones de servicio y 5 digs.
El récord de Varsity del Sagrado Corazón ahora es 23-6.
Nuevo Conductor
Con el espíritu de las buenas noticias, me gustaría aprovechar esta oportunidad para presentar a nuestro nuevo conductor: el Sr. Webster Brown. El Sr. Brown ha sido feligrés de San Vicente De Paul y residente de Sedalia durante los últimos 16 años. Puede reconocer el nombre ya que es el esposo de nuestra directora financiera, la Sra. Es esa época del año otra vez… Hora de las vacunas contra la gripe
¡Solo 2 semanas para las vacunas contra la gripe! La escuela del Sagrado Corazón se asociará con el departamento de salud del condado de Pettis para administrar vacunas contra la gripe el 18 de octubre de 2022 a partir de las 9:00 am. a profesores, estudiantes y familiares. Los formularios de consentimiento de los padres (use este mismo formulario para adultos) deben entregarse en la oficina antes del 14 de octubre.
El Departamento de Salud del Condado de Pettis facturará directamente al seguro sin costo adicional. El costo sin seguro, para mayores de 19 años, será de $25, sin cargo para niños menores de 18 años.

Win/Win Cards – Tarjetas de descuento- ¡La fecha límite para recibir incentivos de las ventas es el jueves!
Las tarjetas de descuento Win/Win Cards fueron enviadas a casa la semana pasada. Esta es la recaudación de fondos principal para APC, la versión de PTA de nuestra escuela. La fecha límite para devolver dinero para incentivos es el jueves 13 de octubre. La fecha límite final es el viernes 18 de noviembre. Mire los volantes en su sobre para ver los detalles.
