Happy Friday Everyone!
What a wonderful event that took place in the McGremlin Gym on Tuesday! The PINK OUT night was a huge success, starting with a spaghetti dinner, with all proceeds benefiting Coen Brown and family. Throughout the night, a 50/50 raffle, pink shirts, prayer for Coen bracelets, Cards for Coen, a group prayer and a special performance by the HS boys choir all took place over the course of the evening.
And to top it all off, we had a full night of fun and exciting volleyball action. In the junior high matches the girls “A” team beat Lincoln in two sets 25-17 and 25-19. While the “B” team lost in 2 sets. 22-25 and 23-25. At the high school level, the Sacred Heart JV won in three sets 25-11, 20-25, 15-13 with the varsity Grems winning their match in three sets as well 25-14, 25-11, 25-13.
The REAL winner of the night was every single person that volunteered, donated, participated, and supported the Pink Out event. Approximately $5000 was raised for Coen Brown and his family. Thank you Lincoln Cardinals and Sacred Heart Gremlins! Thanks to Mrs. Blackburn, Mrs. Siron, Mrs. Lucchesi and everyone else who pitched in to make it a special night. Thanks everyone for a wonderful PINK OUT night!

Rosary Rally for Coen Brown
As a way to lift Coen Brown and his family in prayer, we will be doing a monthly rosary on the last Wednesday of each month. We will begin at 3:15pm in the Sacred Heart Chapel to allow students to attend before attending sports practices. Please keep Coen and the Brown family in your prayers.
Feast of St. Vincent de Paul
The actual feast of St. Vincent de Paul falls on a Tuesday, as the Patron Saint of our parish, we will observe his feast day at all weekend Masses this weekend. St. Vincent de Paul is the Patron Saint of charitable societies. As a way to honor him, consider how you can make a difference in our parish to help those in need.
Why Stewardship?
We give because we NEED to! We are coming up on our annual Stewardship Drive, also known as Time, Talent, and Treasure, in October. Once a year, we request you to consider your time and talents and what commitment you can make to our parish ministries. Fund-A-Need at Bazaar Dinner Auction
We are so grateful to all who donated to the fund-a-need at the Bazaar Auction the last several years. So many wonderful things have been accomplished through your generosity in past years we have completed:
· Updating the sitting room at the rectory
· The walls/roof project at the school
· Helped teacher with classroom needs
· And more!
This year we are asking for funds to the parish for the following things:
· Updating the school cafeteria kitchen
· Updating the St. Patrick Hall kitchen
· Window and carpet replacement at the Sacred Heart Rectory
Please take some prayer time to consider making a donation this year to keep our facilities updated, safe and in good repair.
PARKING TAGS
In an effort to eliminate non-school cars from parking in our lots, all student-drivers were issued a red parking tag that is required to hang from the rearview mirror. Seniors have parking privileges in the student parking lot, 6 Juniors will be randomly drawn for parking in the lot and the rest may park northbound on Missouri, on the north side of Wilkerson, or on North Vermont (by the yellow bus). All sophomore drivers will park on North Vermont. Staff were issued green parking tags and will be parking under the solar array, in the Harris Hall parking lot, and along Vermont (by the rectory). The parking area after school is very congested, so we remind all parents, staff, and students to pull out of the lots slowly, be aware of your surroundings, and if we can limit traffic on Missouri to a Northbound direction, it would keep traffic moving more efficiently.

The first “ABC” Awards of the 2022-2023 school year were presented Tuesday to three Sacred Heart School students in each K-5 class. The “ABC” Awards are presented each month. Congrats to our September recipients!

The first Mid-Quarter grade check is Friday September 23rd. This grade check will determine eligibility for all fall athletes. After school tutoring will take effect for those students that are ineligible. First Quarter ends October 20th.

Standardized testing will take place Monday, October 3rd – Friday, October 7th!

Students in grades 3-10 will take the IOWA assessment and grades 3, 5, 7, and 9 will also take the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT).

It is extremely important that your student has plenty of rest, eats a nutritious breakfast, and tries their very best on these tests!

Sacred Heart School is seeking nominations of outstanding groups and individuals to be inducted into its 2023 Sacred Heart School Hall of Fame. Anyone is eligible to submit nominations to the SHS Hall of Fame. Nomination forms must be completed and returned by Sept. 30, 2022. RaiseRight For the Holidays
It’s not too early to start thinking about the holiday season and how to use RaiseRight to maximize your rebate earnings. Using RaiseRight is a great way to earn rebates to save on tuition while getting everything you need to have a spooktakular Halloween, a hearty Thanksgiving, and a blessed Christmas! If you haven’t already set up your online account, it’s not too late! Look for the RaiseRight app user guide on the school website for instructions on setting up your account and using the app.
Our next in house bulk order for physical gift cards is Tuesday, September 27th. All orders submitted to the school office by the end of school, or through the RaiseRight app by 8pm, on the 27th will be included in the order. Orders should be ready for pick-up the following week. In the next few weeks we will be implementing some small procedural changes to the RaiseRight program. Keep an eye out for additional information in the Beat as we finalize the details.
Don’t forget we have several retailers ONLY available through the office (i.e. Casey’s, Cenex, Shell, Colton’s, Kehde’s, McD, Menards, Taco Bell, Walgreens, and VISA to name a few). ¡Feliz viernes a todos!
¡Qué evento tan maravilloso tuvo lugar en el gimnasio McGremlin el martes! La noche de PINK OUT fue un gran éxito, comenzando con una cena de espagueti, y todas las ganancias benefician a Coen Brown y su familia. A lo largo de la noche, se llevó a cabo una rifa 50/50, camisas rosadas, brazaletes de Oración por Coen, tarjetas para Coen, una oración grupal y una actuación especial del coro de niños de preparatoria.
Y para colmo, tuvimos una noche llena de diversión y emocionante acción de voleibol. En los partidos de preparatoria, el equipo femenino “A” venció a Lincoln en dos sets 25-17 y 25-19. Mientras que el equipo “B” perdió en 2 sets. 22-25 y 23-25. A nivel de escuela secundaria, el Sacred Heart JV ganó en tres sets 25-11, 20-25, 15-13 y el equipo Varsity Grems también ganó su partido en tres sets 25-14, 25-11, 25-13.
El VERDADERO ganador de la noche fue cada persona que se ofreció como voluntaria, donó, participó y apoyó el evento Pink Out. Se recaudaron aproximadamente $5000 para Coen Brown y su familia. ¡Gracias Lincoln Cardinals y Sacred Heart Gremlins! Gracias a la Sra. Blackburn, la Sra. Siron, la Sra. Rosario para Coen Brown
Como una forma de levantar a Coen Brown y su familia, haremos un rosario mensual el último miércoles de cada mes. Comenzaremos a las 3:15 pm en la Capilla del Sagrado Corazón para permitir que los estudiantes asistan antes de asistir a las prácticas deportivas. Mantenga a Coen y a la familia Brown en sus oraciones.
Fiesta de San Vicente de Paúl
La fiesta real de San Vicente de Paúl cae el martes, como el Santo Patrono de nuestra parroquia, observaremos su fiesta en todas las misas este fin de semana. · Reemplazo de ventanas y alfombras en la Rectoría del Sagrado Corazón
Tómese un tiempo de oración para considerar hacer una donación este año para mantener nuestras instalaciones actualizadas, seguras y en buen estado.
Etiqueta de estacionamiento
En un esfuerzo por eliminar el estacionamiento de automóviles que no pertenecen a la escuela en nuestros lotes, todos los estudiantes-conductores recibieron una etiqueta de estacionamiento roja que se requiere que cuelgue del espejo retrovisor. Los estudiantes de duodécimo grado tienen privilegios de estacionamiento en el estacionamiento para estudiantes, 6 alumnos de undécimo grado serán sorteados al azar para estacionarse en el estacionamiento y el resto puede estacionarse hacia el norte en la calle Missouri, en el lado norte de Wilkerson o en el lado norte de Vermont (por el autobús amarillo). Todos los conductores de décimo grado se estacionarán en North Vermont. Conductores de camión
Actualmente estamos buscando un conductor de eventos para atletismo y actividades. También estamos buscando un conductor sustituto para la ruta diaria de Warrensburg. El pago es de $13.50 por hora.
