Greetings Everyone!
We have successfully completed the first day of Kindergarten screening for the upcoming school year. What a wonderful and happy time as the next new crop of Little Gremlins make their appearance in the hallways of the school. We have another full day tomorrow then some follow-up screens as the spring progresses. We still have a few openings in the 20-1-22 kindergarten class. If you know of a family that you think would be a great Sacred Heart family please encourage them to give us a call to find out more about the SHS experience.
Please be watching the next few SH Beats (and some stand-alone communications) for exciting information on Elementary Restroom Renovations coming up this summer. We received permission last week to put this project in motion and we are so excited to do just that! It will be the latest in a long line of major capital improvement projects that serves as proof positive that SHS is a progressive, forward-looking institution and we are committed to giving you and your child the absolute best experience possible!
Good luck to the varsity boys basketball team as they open district play here at the SHS gym tonight. The Grems will be hosting the Calvary Lutheran Lions out of Jefferson City. Tip-off is at 6 pm.

Junior High Boys Win Conference Tournament!

The Junior High Boys capped off an undefeated season with a 42-24 win over the Lincoln Cardinals in the championship game of the Kaysinger Conference Tournament Monday night in Stover. The boys were 14-0 overall and 9-0 in conference play.
In addition to winning the conference tournament, they were regular-season champs and took 1st place in the SH Tournament in January. Congratulations to a great group of boys on a wonderful season!
Zach Parsons Paid Dress UP Day – Wednesday, February 24
Paid Dress UP Day! Wednesday, February 17. We remember and honor the life of Zach Parsons with a Dress UP Day. Zach, a Sacred Heart junior at the time of his death in 2016, held high standards and goals in every area of his life, from how he treated others, to how he chose to dress. “You look good, you do good,” he liked to say.
Zach treated everyone with respect and kindness. On this anniversary, we ask that students not only dress up, but stretch beyond their comfort zones to lift others up in respect and kindness.
ALL proceeds from this Dress UP Day will be matched by the Parsons Family (up to $1000) AND an anonymous donor, to benefit Sacred Heart’s Fine Arts Program—that’s up to $3,000 for our Fine Arts program, so PLEASE give and act generously, in memory of Zach this Wednesday!
Senior Celebrations
Dallin Chappell
Dallin has committed to playing soccer for Southern Virginia University. He became aware of it his Junior year through a cousin that is currently attending there. He plans to major in biology. Dallin is looking forward to playing soccer for the team and hopes to also play baseball in the spring. He describes Southern Virginia University as being a smaller school, which he likes. I want to have the personal relationship with the teachers that I’ve enjoyed at Sacred Heart. Dallin has an exciting future in store! Upon the completion of his fall semester, he will travel to do missionary work for two years, before returning to college.
Senior Night 2021!

Shorts Season begins March 1st – Shop at the Gremlin Student Store!
We need your help! The shelves at the Gremlin Student Store are overflowing with uniforms. Students are allowed to wear shorts starting March 1, 2021. Stop by the Gremlin Student Store and pick some up. All gently used items are buy one, get one free or $5 for two items.
The Gremlin Student Store is open daily after school or by appointment. Contact Mrs. Howell to set-up your appointment today. We need your help to empty out the shelves.

¡Saludos a Todos!
Hemos completado con éxito el primer día de la evaluación de Kindergarten para el próximo año escolar. Que momento tan maravilloso y feliz cuando la próxima nueva generación de Pequeños Gremlins hace su aparición en los pasillos de la escuela. Mañana tendremos otro día completo, después algunos seguimientos de evaluación a medida que la primavera avanza. Todavía tenemos algunas vacantes de la generación de kindergarten 2021-2022. Si conoce alguna familia que cree sería una gran familia del Sagrado Corazón por favor invítelos a que nos llamen para obtener más información sobre la experiencia de SHS.
Esté atento a los próximos SH Beats (y algunos avisos independientes) para obtener más información interesante sobre la Renovación de los Baños de Primaria este verano. La semana pasada recibimos permiso para poner en marcha este proyecto y ¡estamos muy emocionados de hacerlo! Será el último de una larga lista de importantes proyectos de mejoramiento de la infraestructura que sirve como prueba positiva de que SHS es una institución progresista y con visión de futuro y ¡estamos comprometidos a brindarles a usted y a su hijo la mejor experiencia posible!

El lunes por la noche en Stover los jóvenes de Junior High culminaron una temporada invicta con una victoria de 42-24 sobre Lincoln Cardinals en el juego del campeonato del Torneo de la Conferencia Kaysenger. Los jóvenes tuvieron un marcador de 14-0 en general y 9-0 en juegos de conferencia.
Además de ganar el juego de la conferencia fueron campeones de la temporada regular y ganaron el 1er lugar en el Torneo SH en enero. ¡Felicitaciones a un gran grupo de jóvenes en una temporada maravillosa!
Zach Parsons Día de Vestimenta Formal – Miércoles 24 de febrero
¡Día de Vestimenta Formal! Miércoles 17 de febrero. Recordamos y honramos la vida de Zach Parsons con un Día de Vestimenta Elegante. Zach, era un estudiante de onceavo grado del Sagrado Corazón en el momento de su muerte en 2016 que tenía altos estándares y objetivos en cada área de su vida, desde cómo trataba a los demás hasta cómo elegía vestirse. Le gustaba decir “Te ves bien, te va bien”.
Zach trató a todos con respeto y amabilidad. En este aniversario, pedimos a los estudiantes no solo vestirse elegantes sino que vayan más allá de su zona de confort para levantar a los demás con respeto y amabilidad.
TODAS las ganancias de este Día de Vestimenta Formal serán igualadas por la Familia Parsons (hasta $1000) Y un donante anónimo, en beneficio del programa de Arte del Sagrado Corazón – eso es hasta $3,000 para nuestro programa de Arte, así que ¡POR FAVOR dé y actúe con generosidad este miércoles en memoria de Zach!

Dallin se ha comprometido a jugar fútbol soccer en Southern Virginia University. Se dió cuenta de ello en su año Junior mediante un primo que actualmente estudia ahí. Planea especializarse en Biología. Dallin está ansioso por jugar fútbol para el equipo y también planea jugar béisbol en la primavera. Describe Southern Virginia University como una escuela más pequeña que le agrada. Quiero tener la relación personal con los profesores que he disfrutado en el Sagrado Corazón. ¡Dallin tiene un futuro emocionante reservado! Al completar su semestre de otoño, viajará para hacer trabajo misionero durante dos años antes de regresar a la universidad.
