Greetings SHS and Happy Friday,

As of this writing, we are 3 days into our Virtual Education and Distance Learning Project!  So far, I could not be more proud of the professional educators that work in this building.  The attitude of professionalism and collegiality have surpassed all of my expectations this week.

We hope this is not a long term solution to your children’s education.  But, if that is the hand we are dealt with, I am convinced that the SHS faculty will guide your child successfully through this.  The administration, faculty, and staff of SHS will be getting up and going to work every day (albeit many from their own homes) to ensure that they complete whatever levels of education they are responsible to accomplish in order to have your child confidently ready for whatever step of education awaits them next fall!

There has been a tremendously steep learning curve for many of us over the last 72 hours.  Consequently, there will be some hiccups in the delivery of lessons in the days ahead.  We know that there will be some troubleshooting necessary.  Please be patient and work with us.   If you or your students are having issues with Google Classroom and Zoom conferencing, please contact Mrs. Siron (msiron@gogremlins.com) or Mrs. Howell (nhowell@gogremlins.com).

We are striving to establish wide-open lanes of communication for both parents and students.  Please be patient, especially with the elementary teachers, they will be dealing with many, many emails each day.  The main office will be open each day (for the time being, at least) from 8 am until noon.  Items can be picked up and dropped off at those times.  You can also make arrangements with Mrs. City.

Mr. Jones and I will also be implementing Zoom office hours next week to aid in any issues you may be experiencing.  Information regarding delivery and times for these office hours can be found below.

Schedule for Parish Events

St. Vincent de Paul Parish will continue to function to the best of our ability during this time of restricted gatherings.  Here is a schedule of activities/offerings from the Parish.

Masses

This is the schedule for the foreseeable future:

When the live stream is complete the mass recordings will remain available for viewing at any time on our St Vincent de Paul Facebook page. Please send your tithe to the church through the mail, electronic giving or dropping it off at the parish office.  We still rely on your generous tithe to the parish as all expenses will continue and more importantly, we are still called to give in this time of need.

Sacrament of Reconciliation

There will be two ushers at the doors by the parking lot to escort 10 people into the church at any one time and escort any more than ten to the parish center and other rooms so that no more than ten people are gathered in one space at a time.

(both priests will offer the Sacrament of Reconciliation behind the screen only)

We will periodically evaluate and communicate if these times need to be lengthened or shortened. You may also call the Sacred Heart Office to schedule an appointment for reconciliation.   All penance services, including ours on March 31 are canceled, so please come to the sacrament of reconciliation.

Prayer Devotionals

The chapel at Sacred Heart will be unlocked, with heat and lights on, from 8:30 am until 9 pm Monday through Saturday and 9:30 am until 9 pm on Sunday.  The pastors are encouraging everyone to take advantage of our chapel at Sacred Heart for personal/family devotional prayer. There will be many devotional books including Stations of the Cross for you to use during your prayer time.

ZOOM Administration Office Hours:

Dr. Register (mregister@gogremlins.com) and Mr. Jones (sjones@gogremlins.com) will be offering Zoom Office Hours for any questions you may have.  These office hours are an opportunity for parents to log in and ask questions directly to the SH Administration.  These hours will be each week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m via Zoom Video Conferencing.  The URL for these meetings was sent out by Mr. Jones to all parents yesterday via email.  https://zoom.us/j/415022822

These are not mandatory for parents, simply a way for Dr. Register and Mr. Jones to increase their availability.  All technical issues involving the connection or access to online materials should be sent to Mrs. Marlo Siron, msiron@gogremlins.com.

Dr. Register and Mr. Jones will also be available via email from 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on each day school is in session.

Pathways for Alternative Learning Success

 SCRIPing to Support Our Brothers and Sisters in Christ

Everyone in our community will be impacted in some way by the current health crisis in our nation.  However, some of our friends, family and neighbors are more vulnerable to the challenges we are facing.  Some will lose paychecks and need help paying for basic living expenses.  Some will need help feeding their children, who normally receive two free meals a day at school.  And others will feel the need to shelter in place to stay safe from this virus and need help having groceries delivered.

During this time Scrip can facilitate you helping those most in need, while also benefiting yourself and our school.  Here are a few ideas to keep in mind when you are looking to help others.

–  Walmart gift cards can be used to help cover the cost of groceries and medical supplies.

– Casey’s and Cenex gift cards can be used to help cover the cost of getting to and from work.

– CVS and Walgreens gift cards can be used to help cover the cost of medical supplies.

– Visa gift cards can be used to cover the cost of grocery delivery services from Aldis, and basic living expenses.

– Restaurant gift cards can be used to provide meals.

These are just a few options to help us get through these challenging events together, with love and support for all.

Stop by the school office Monday through Friday from 8am-noon to shop from our great selection of physical gift cards.  We have several retailers ONLY available through the office (i.e. Casey’s, Cenex, Shell, Colton’s, McD, Taco Bell, Walgreens, and VISA to name a few).  The last in house order, or electronic purchases, to go towards your 2019-2020 tuition will be April 15th.

Saludos SHS y Feliz Viernes,

¡Hasta ahora hemos estado 3 dias en Educación Virtual y Proyecto de Aprendizaje a Distancia! No puedo estar más orgulloso de los educadores tan profesionales que trabajan en este edificio. Esta semana la actitud de profesionalismo y cooperación entre ellos ha sobrepasado todas mis expectativas.

Esperamos que esto no sea una solución a largo plazo para la educación de sus hijos. Pero si es con lo que tenemos que lidiar, estoy convencido de que los docentes del SHS guiarán  a su hijo con éxito a través de esta situación.  ¡La administración, los docentes y el personal del SHS se levantarán e irán a trabajar todos los días, (aunque muchos desde sus propias casas)  para asegurar que se completen los niveles educativos que tienen bajo su responsabilidad  con el fin de que sus hijos estén listos para el siguiente paso educativo que los espera el próximo otoño!

¡Ha habido una curva de aprendizaje muy pronunciada para muchos de nosotros en las últimas 72 horas! Por consecuencia, habrá algunos sobresaltos en la entrega de las lecciones en los próximos días. Sabemos que será necesario resolver algunos problemas. Por favor tenga paciencia y trabaje con nosotros. Si usted o su estudiante tienen problemas con Google Classroom y videoconferencias en Zoom, por favor contacte a  la Sra. Siron (msiron@gogremlins.com) o a la  Mrs. Howell (nhowell@gogremlins.com).

Estamos esforzándonos para establecer líneas de comunicación abiertas tanto para padres como para estudiantes.  Por favor sea paciente, especialmente con los maestros de primaria, ellos estarán recibiendo muchos, muchos  emails de forma diaria (al menos, por el momento). La oficina principal estará abierto (por el momento) de 8 a 12 pm. Puede también hacer acuerdos  con la Sra. City.

El Sr. Jones y yo implementaremos un horario de videoconferencia en Zoom la próxima semana para ayudar con cualquier problema  que pueda estar experimentando. La información en relación al horario exacto se describe abajo.

Horario de los Eventos de la Parroquia

La Parroquia de San Vicente de Paúl continúa funcionando lo mejor que podemos durante este momento de reuniones restringidas. Este es el horario de actividades/ofertas de la Parroquia.

Misas

Este es el horario del futuro previsible:

Cuando la transmisión en vivo se termine las grabaciones de la misa permanecerán disponibles para verse a cualquier hora en la página de Facebook de nuestra Parroquia de San Vicente de Paúl Por favor envíen su sobres de diezmo a la iglesia por correo, donativo electrónico o dejándolo en la oficina parroquial. Aún dependemos de su diezmo generoso a la parroquia pues continuamos con todo los gastos y principalmente porque  estamos llamados a dar en tiempos de necesidad.

 Sacramento de Reconciliación

Habrá dos personas en las puertas del lado del estacionamiento para escoltar a 10 personas a la iglesia en cualquier momento y escoltar a más de diez al centro parroquial y a otras habitaciones para que no haya más de diez personas reunidas en un espacio al mismo tiempo.

(ambos sacerdotes ofrecerán el Sacramento de la Reconciliación únicamente detrás de un biombo)

Vamos a evaluar y comunicar periódicamente si estos horarios necesitan ser extendidos o acortados. Puede también llamar a la Oficina del Sagrado Corazón para agendar una cita para reconciliación. Todos los servicios de penitencia, incluidos los nuestros del 31 de marzo están cancelados así que por favor venga al sacramento de la reconciliación.

Oraciones Devocionales

La capilla del Sagrado Corazón estará abierta, con calefacción e iluminación de 8:30am a 9pm de lunes a sábado y de 9:30am a  9pm el domingo.  Los pastores alientan a que todos aprovechen nuestra capilla del Sagrado Corazón para una oración devocional personal o familiar. Habrá muchos libros devocionales incluidas las Estaciones de la Cruz para que los use durante su tiempo de oración.

Horario de Oficina de los Administradores para videoconferencia en  ZOOM:

El Dr. Register (mregister@gogremlins.com)  y el Sr. Jones (sjones@gogremlins.com) tendrán un horario para videoconferencias en Zoom por si tiene preguntas. Estos horarios de videoconferencia son una oportunidad para que los padres se conecten y hagan sus preguntas directamente a la administración del SH. Esto ocurrirá cada semana los martes y jueves de 1:00 – 2:00 p.m  por videoconferencia via Zoom.  La URL de estas juntas fue enviada a los padres por el Sr. Jones el día de ayer por email.

Esto no es obligatorio para los padres, simplemente es una forma en la que el Dr. Register y el Sr. Jones están aumentando su disponibilidad.  Todos los problemas técnicos con conexiones o acceso a materiales en línea deberán ser enviados a la Sra. Siron, msiron@gogremlins.com.

El Dr. Register y el  Sr. Jones también estarán disponibles vía email de  8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. en días hábiles.

Maneras Alternativas para el Éxito en el Aprendizaje

Programa SCRIP para apoyar a Nuestros Hermanas y Hermanos en Cristo

Todos en nuestras comunidad serán impactados de alguna manera por la crisis de salud actual  en nuestra nación. Sin embargo, algunos de nuestros amigos, familia y vecinos son más vulnerables a los desafíos que enfrentan. Algunos perderán sus cheques de pago y necesitarán ayuda para pagar los gastos básicos de vida. Algunos necesitarán ayuda para alimentar a sus hijos que normalmente reciben dos comidas al día en la escuela. Y otros sentirán la necesidad de resguardarse en algún lugar para permanecer a salvo de este virus y necesitarán que se les entreguen víveres.

Durante este tiempo, Scrip puede facilitarle el ayudar a los más necesitados, mientras usted y nuestra escuela también se benefician. Estas son algunas ideas para tener en cuenta cuando busquen ayudar a otros.

–  Las tarjetas de regalo de Walmart pueden ser usadas para ayuda a cubrir los costos del supermercado y materiales médicos.

– Las tarjetas de Casey y Cenex pueden ser usadas para ayudar a cubrir el costo de traslado al y del trabajo.

– Las tarjetas de regalo de CVS y Walgreens pueden ser usadas para cubrir el costo de los materiales médicos.

– Las tarjetas de regalo Visa pueden usarse para pagar los servicios de entrega de  Aldis y gastos básicos de vida.

– Las tarjetas de regalo de restaurantes pueden ser usadas para proporcionar alimentos.

Estas son solo algunas opciones para ayudarnos a navegar juntos a través de estos eventos desafiantes, con amor y apoyo para todos.

Por favor pase por la escuela del lunes a viernes  de 8 am a 12 pm para comprar de entre nuestra amplia selección de tarjetas físicas. Tenemos varios negocios que ÚNICAMENTE están disponibles mediante la oficina (ejemplo: Casey’s, Cenex, Shell, Colton’s, McD, Taco Bell, Walgreens y VISA por mencionar algunas).  El último pedido de la casa (oficina escolar) o bien compras electrónicas que se aplicarán a la colegiatura del ciclo escolar 2019-2020 serán las realizadas hasta el 15 de abril.
