From Father’s Desk: The High School Retreat

HIGH SCHOOL RETREAT

On April 28, 2026, we held a retreat for the High School Students. A retreat offers students a unique opportunity to step away from the pressures of academic life and reconnect with their faith, their peers, and themselves.

The day began with the celebration of the Eucharist at 8:30 AM at the retreat facility. Meaningful music was at the heart of the liturgy, lifting our hearts and minds to God. Mr. Kevin Morales played a central role throughout the day, leading a mix of engaging activities and spiritual talks that encouraged students to grow in faith and reflect on God’s purpose in their lives—especially as they prepare to graduate.

The retreat concluded with Adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, offering a powerful moment of prayer and reflection and inviting students to rest in God’s presence as they look toward the future.

Key Highlights of the Retreat:

Spiritual & Theological Growth
Students were invited to move beyond the classroom and into a deeper, personal relationship with Christ. The importance of the sacramental life was emphasized, particularly Reconciliation, along with a deeply moving experience of Eucharistic Adoration.

Community & Peer Bonding
The retreat created a safe and supportive environment where students could be open, build trust, and step away from social pressures. It fostered a strong sense of Christian community and belonging.

Personal Development & Reflection
Students were encouraged to unplug from technology for the day, allowing space for silence, journaling, and meaningful reflection. This time helped them better understand their identity as beloved children of God.

Atmosphere & Experience
The day included dynamic worship through contemporary praise and music, along with moments of recreation and fun. These elements helped balance deeper spiritual experiences with joy and connection.

Lasting Impact
Students returned with a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper awareness of God’s presence in their lives. For many, the retreat will remain a meaningful and memorable highlight of their high school journey.

We extend our gratitude to the parish and school administration for their support in making this retreat possible. Let us continue to pray for our students as they grow in faith and virtue.
