Tackling the Sacred Heart Junior High Football Program

“Football is like life. It requires perseverance, self-denial, hard work, sacrifice, dedication and respect for authority,” stated Vince Lombardi.

Looking ahead to the 2019 Junior High Football season for Sacred Heart, Coach Crooker is expecting eight players to return. Additional games are going to be added to the schedule to give the team more opportunities to play.

The Celebration of a Successful 2018 Season.

“I’m proud of how the team came together and how hard they played [in the 2018 season],” Coach Caleb Crooker stated.

“With returning players and some players who had never played before, we had a great blend of student-athletes that gave us everything they had every game. Looking ahead to the fall of 2019 we are going to improve our record from last year and continue to help the players develop. We only have one more year before the school (Sacred Heart) resumes the varsity program in the fall of 2020,“ commented Coach Chad Damlo.

Each team member brings a wide variety of skills that set the team,” stated Coach Damlo. His expectations as their coach is to do his job and get the best out of each player while teaching the players the skills they need on and off the field.”

High Expectations for the 2019 Season.

This fall, the Junior High Football team looks forward to playing six games as they prepare the team to move up to the varsity level in 2020.

“We can’t wait to bring football back on Friday nights at Sacred Heart,” said coach Damlo

“Teamwork is key. You don’t practice well without it, and without hard work, you can’t have a good football team,” stated Tanner Damlo, 8th Grade.

“When you have courage, you have to do things you don’t really want to do,” commented Jacob Brownfield, 8th Grade.

“Without dedication, you can’t learn anything,” remarked Caden Crooker, 8th Grade.
