The Sacred Heart Jr. High Speech team participated at the Bellarmine Speech Contest on Saturday, Jan. 26, in Glasgow, MO, earning four blue ribbons (highest awarded) and one red (second-highest awarded).

• Tommy Mertes and Shea Smith earned a blue for their duet, “Joe’s Pizza Parlor”
• Ximena Lopez and Megan Aonzo took home a blue for a duet they wrote and performed titled “A.R.M.Y.”
• Olivia Dobson received a red ribbon for her humorous solo “Moths and Butterflies”
• Mariah Van Leer earned a blue for her serious solo called “I am Not a Bully”
• Mia DeGraff earned a blue for her serious solo called “He Could Have Said No”
