Booster ClubSacred Heart Booster Club
Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year. We hope you will display your school spirit by joining the Booster Club. The Booster Club provides our athletic department with uniforms and equipment for all sports. It also provides funds for the maintenance of the gym floors and other needs that our coaches and student athletes have throughout the year.
With your membership your name is place on the Booster Board in the gym.

Volunteers are needed for concessions and Pancake breakfasts. These items are the money makers for our organization. All parents of athletes are required to work in the concessions at least once throughout the year as part of that athlete participation in their sport. Each team will have a parent liaison that will help schedule workers for the stands. Concession stand usually has several shifts depending on the amount of games played.
Anyone wanting to volunteer please contact the booster club officers, all help is much appreciated.
Please pay your dues by October 1st each school year and return to the school office, concession stand or give to a booster officer.

Officers for 2011-2012 President- Ed Prenger Vice President- BY-LAWS OF SACRED HEART ATHLETIC BOOSTER CLUB (Approved 1/06/09) ARTICLE 1 - GENERAL
Section 1 - NAME
The name of this association shall be Sacred Heart Athletic Booster Club (hereinafter "SHABC"). Section 2 - PURPOSE
SHABC is organized to support all Sacred Heart School athletic and cheerleading programs. The Board of Directors (hereinafter "Board") of SHABC shall regularly consult with the School Administrator and Athletic Director of Sacred Heart School regarding the progress, needs and goals of the athletic and cheerleading programs of Sacred Heart School. Section 3 - LIMITATION OF METHODS
No officer, board member of committee member shall take any formal action, or make public any resolution, or in any way commit SHABC to take any action without first receiving formal approval of the Board.
ARTICLE II - MEMBERSHIPSection 1 - ELIGIBILITY
Membership in SHABC shall be open to any person or entity interested in the preservation and betterment of all athletic programs at Sacred Heart School. It is expected that the parents/guardians of each student participating in athletics and/or cheerleading at Sacred Heart School will maintain membership and will participate in SHABC activities.
Members shall pay annual dues as determined by the Board, except for the members who have subscribed to Lifetime Memberships.
ARTICLE III - MEETINGSSection 1 - GENERAL MEMBERSHIP
General Membership meetings of SHABC shall be held a minimum of every other month during the school year. The time and place shall be fixed by the Board and notice thereof shall be posted in a conspicuous place within the School at least seven (7) days prior to each such meeting.
Meetings are also open to all parents/guardians of all students attending Sacred Heart School.
The agenda for all General Membership meetings shall be prepared by the President. Section 2 - BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Board shall meet at such time as all General Membership meetings.
Special meetings of the Board may be called by or at the request of the School Administrator, Athletic Director or President of the Board. The time and place of such meeting shall be specified in a notice directed to each Director at least two (2) days prior to such meeting.
Special meetings of the Board are to be attended only by members of the Board or those persons invited to attend. Section 3 - COMMITTEES
Committee meetings may be called at any time by the President of the Board or by any committee chairman.
At Committee meetings, a majority of committee members constitutes a quorum.
ARTICLE IV - BOARD OF DIRECTORSSection 1 - NUMBER
The Board shall be composed of nine Directors who are members of SHABC. Section 2 - TERM
The Directors shall serve a term of three years; January 1 through December 31. The terms of Directors shall be staggered such that three Directors shall be elected each year. Section 3 - AUTHORITY
The Board of SHABC shall be vested with exclusive authority to oversee and direct all actions of SHABC. Section 4 - QUORUMS
A majority of Directors holding office shall constitute a quorum for the purpose of conducting meetings of the Board. However, any matter requiring Board approval shall require five (5) affirmative votes regardless of the number of Directors in attendance at any such meeting.
If a vacancy occurs during a Director's term, a replacement shall be appointed by the President and approved by the Board. Section 6 - ELECTION AND SEATING OF DIRECTORS
A. Directors shall be selected as a result of election by the General Membership. The President will appoint an Election Committee to oversee the election process. The Election Committee will be responsible for notifying Membership of such election, accepting nominations and selecting the election date, time, place, develop the ballots, organize the election, count the votes, and report the results to the President.
B. No head coach or salaried assistant coach of any sport at Sacred Heart School, nor any spouse or immediate family member of any coach or assistant coach is eligible to serve as a Director. Directors may provide volunteer assistance in a sport but may not be liaison to the activity in which they are directly involved.
C. All newly elected Directors shall be seated at the first regular Board meeting following the election of new Directors. Section 7 - SPORT REPRESENTATIVE
Each Director, in addition to his/her other duties, shall serve as a Sport Representative for one of the following sports/programs: Football, Volleyball, Soccer (Boys and Girls), Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Golf (Boys and Girls), Baseball, Softball and Cheerleading. The Sports Representative will serve as liaison between the coach and the Board and will be primarily responsible for organizing all concessions and game-day volunteers necessary for such sport.
ARTICLE V - OFFICERS
Section 1 - SELECTION OF OFFICERS
All officers will serve a term of one year and will be selected by vote of the Directors at the first regular Board meeting following the election of new Directors. Section 2 - OFFICERS DUTIES
A. President of the Board The President of the Board shall serve as the executive head of SHABC and shall preside at all meetings of the General Membership and Board.
B. Vice President of the Board The Vice President of the Board shall exercise the powers and authority and perform the duties of the President of the Board in absence of the President.
C. Treasurer The Treasurer shall be responsible for the safeguarding of all funds received and for their proper disbursement. The Treasurer shall keep such funds on deposit in financial institutions approved by the Board of Directors. The Treasurer shall cause a monthly financial report to be made to the Board.
D. Secretary The Secretary shall keep the minutes of all meetings of SHABC.
ARTICLE VI - FINANCESSection 1 - FISCAL YEAR
The Fiscal year of SHABC shall begin on June 1 and close on May 31.
Section 2 - FUNDS
All money paid to the SHABC shall be placed in accounts duly authorized by the Board of Directors. Funds unused from the current year's budget will in full be applied to the forthcoming year's budget.
Section 3 - DONATIONS
Donors may contribute funds or equipment to specified sports or cheerleading programs. The head coach of the sport/program receiving such funds or equipment shall report all such donations to the Athletic Director and the Board.
Section 4 - BUDGETS
Requests for funding for the upcoming fiscal year shall be submitted to the Board by the Athletic Director by March 1. The Board shall prepare an estimate of anticipated revenues for the upcoming fiscal year by April 15. The Board shall act upon the requests for funding by May 15. The Treasurer is authorized to make disbursements only as to expenses and accounts specifically approved by majority vote of the Board.
ARTICLE VII - DISSOLUTION
Section 1 - PROCEDURE
SHABC shall use its funds only to accomplish the objectives and purposes specified in these bylaws. On dissolution of SHABC, any funds remaining shall be distributed to Sacred Heart School.
ARTICLE X - AMENDMENTS AND REVIEW TO BY-LAWSSection 1 - REVISION
These By-Laws may be amended or altered by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the Board holding office. Any proposed amendments or alterations shall be submitted to the Board in writing, at least ten (10) days before the Board meeting at which time they are to be included in the Agenda for the General Membership meeting. Section 2 -REVIEW
These By-Laws shall be reviewed annually by the Board.
