Calendar Planning for 2009 – 2010

5/13/09 

First Quarter

·        Two days in-service 8/21 and 8/24. One day will be break out meetings and work in classrooms.  The other will be all faculty meetings.

·        Open House 8/24, 6 PM in the new gym

·        First day of school 8/25.

·        NO SCHOOL – September 7, Labor Day

·        1:00 PM dismissals on 8/25 (shortened day schedule), 9/2 (Sept. faculty meeting, 5th hour meets), 9/4 (Labor Day, 6th hour meets), 10/7 (Oct. faculty meeting, 7th hour meets).

·        First quarter mid-quarter is Wednesday, 9/23

·        NO SCHOOL – October 5, Teacher Institute

·        First quarter ends on Friday, 10/23

·        Aug. - 5 days, Sept. - 21 days, Oct. - 16 days = 42 days total in first quarter  

 

Second Quarter

·        P-T Conferences on 11/4 and 11/5 w/ 1:00 PM dismissal on both day. 

·        No School Friday, Nov. 6th.

·        Second quarter mid-quarter is Fri. 11/20.

·        Christmas break begins with a 1:00 PM dismissal on Tuesday 12/22.  Classes resume at 7:50 AM on Monday 1/4.

·        1:00 PM dismissals on 11/4 (P-T Conference, 5th hour meets), 11/5 (P-T Conference, 6th hour meets), 12/2 (December faculty meeting, 7th hour meets), 12/22 (Christmas break begins, 5th hour meets), 1/6 (January faculty meeting, 6th hour meets) and 1/8 (1st semester ends, finals schedule)

·        Finals to be held 1/6, 1/7 and 1/8.

·        First semester and second quarter end on 1/8 with 1:00 PM dismissal.

·        Oct. - 5 days, Nov. - 18 days, Dec. - 16 days, Jan. – 5 days = 44 days total in second quarter

·        86 student contact days total in first semester with 4 contracted in-service days satisfied. 

 

Third Quarter

·        Third quarter begins on Monday 1/11/10.

·        NO SCHOOL on Monday, 1/18 – MLK Day

·        Third quarter mid-quarter is Thursday, 2/11.

·        NO SCHOOL on Friday, 2/12 for Kaysinger Conference PD Day

·        NO SCHOOL on Monday, 2/15 for President’s Day

·        1:00 PM dismissals on 2/3 (Feb. faculty meeting, 7th hour meets), 3/3 (March faculty meeting, 5th hour meets).

·        End of third quarter is 3/12.

·        Jan. - 14 days, Feb. - 18 days, Mar. - 10 days = 42 days total in third quarter 

 

Fourth Quarter

·        Fourth quarter begins on Monday 3/15

·        NO SCHOOL on Friday, 3/19 for Faculty Retreat

·        NO SCHOOL on Thursday, 4/1 (Holy Thursday) for Religious Ed In-service Day

·        NO SCHOOL on Friday, 4/2 (Good Friday) and Monday, 4/5 (Easter Monday) for Easter Break

·        Fourth quarter mid-quarter is 4/23

·        1:00 PM dismissals on 3/31 (Easter break begins, 6th hour meets), 4/7 (April faculty meeting, 7th hour meets), 5/5 (May faculty meeting, 5th hour meets).

·        Baccalaureate on Saturday, May 22, 2010 @ 3 PM in the Church

·        Graduation on Sunday, May 23, 2010 @ 3 PM in the Church

·        8th grade graduation on Monday, May 24, 2010 @ 7 PM in the Church

·        Kindergarten Celebration on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 @ 3 PM in the Church

·        Elementary last full student day is 5/26

·        Secondary finals end 5/27

·        5/27 teacher workday for elementary, secondary gets 1/2 days on 5/26 and 5/27

·        ASM / Awards assemblies on 5/28 with a 10:30 dismissal.

·        Mar. - 12 days, Apr. - 19 days, May - 18 days = 49 days total in fourth quarter (includes 3 snow days built in).

·        88 student contact days total in second semester with 4 contracted in-service days with 3 snow days built in.

 

·        177 student contact days total in 2009 - 2010 calendar (3 of these days we will get back either through snow days or added as a spring break.)

·        8 contracted in-service days
