Sacred Heart School strives to nurture the spiritual, emotional, and academic growth of each student, and to help them become productive Christian citizens.

Dear Students and Parents:

Sacred Heart Elementary and High School is a Catholic co-educational institution.  Located in Sedalia, MO, the school is a part of the Diocese of Jefferson City, MO.  With more than 120 years of continuous quality elementary and secondary education, SHS continues to reach out and prepare students in grades kindergarten through twelve to meet the many challenges of a new millennium.  The school is achieving this goal by providing a solid personal and academic foundation for the future leaders of the 21st century!

The high school, accredited by the University of Missouri Committee on Accredited Schools Non-public, follows a traditional approach to education that has proven successful over the span of time.  The academic approach is predominately college preparatory.  Dual enrollment courses are offered during the junior and senior years through State Fair Community College, Central Methodist College, and Central Missouri State University.  Comprehensive track courses are available through the State Fair Community College Vocational Technical School.  Selected elective courses are offered through the school’s membership in MIT-E Network interactive television consortium.

On the elementary and junior high levels the school receives accreditation through the MO Chapter of the National Federation of Non-public Schools State Accrediting Association.  Here too, we follow a traditional approach to education.  The curriculum is general preparatory with emphasis placed on Mathematics, English, Science, Social Studies and Religion (i.e. "The Big Five").  Students are exposed to co-curricular instruction in Art, Music, Physical Education, Computers and Spanish.

It is our aim to challenge students to accept responsibility for his or her own education and academic success, along with developing the necessary tools to become a responsible and productive Christian citizen.  At Sacred Heart Elementary and High School we strive for teachers and students to work together to achieve these goals in an atmosphere of mutual Christian concern and respect.

In His name,

Dr. Mark Register, EdD
